It’s a sad, Peeps-less Halloween this year!

If you were looking forward to your favorite seasonal Peeps flavors this Halloween and Christmas, we’re sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Just Born has announced that production of these marshmallow Peeps will be suspended until Spring 2021, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The company has decided to pause the production of other holiday-themed treats to prepare for the overwhelming demand of Easter instead when US consumers typically buy 1.5 billion Peeps treats.

Yup, that means no Christmas tree Peeps, no Valentine’s Day Peeps, and worst of all, no ghost-shaped Peeps, which my kiddos are especially fond of.

They also made this decision so they would be able to continue to produces their other everyday favorites, including Mike & Ike and Hot Tamales candies.

However, don’t despair! Just Born fully expects seasonal treats, including their full lineup of Peeps, to return to shelves by Halloween 2021.

I wonder why. A lot of places near me are having a hard time finding people to come back to work so is it that or are they not hiring as many people to distance more in factories? This seems strange to me.

I know by me we can’t get people to even apply. So many open positions. The only people we can get to work are college students and high schoolers. Everyone else makes more to stay home on unemployment. Meanwhile I am working 50 plus hours weeks to not even be able to keep up with orders for the company I work for. I bet it is the same for them.

You do know the enhanced unemployment is gone and many people are scraping by on less than $300 a week looking for employment? Not everyone lives or can currently move to work in low paying factory jobs so please stop with this lame talking point.

        • Boo

Wrong. People are CHOOSING to stay unemployed because they would rather have that $300 a week. I know alot of freeloaders who are sitting on their bbutt playing video games and starting GoFundMe’s with some sob story and actually making money from that. I have other people that have refused to move out of their parents house because they love the free rent AND think they are worth more than $16 an hour at Target. Sorry, but if you have NO college degree, you have every right to fill out that application for the factory position. It’s called moving up the ladder. You don’t get paid as much as a CEO for the ZERO experience you have. Apparently YOU need the money, “Gen”, otherwise why else would you be on the money saving website?

I’ve been wondering how things in other parts of the country were. In my area, EVERYONE is hiring! It’s crazy. Businesses are booming and everyone is desperate for employees. It’s not just low paying entry level jobs, it’s everything.

The company that I worked for personally went to homeless people in the streets and offered them a position, the reply: nah I make more out here. It was sad😢
