Some of these deals are really great. However, buying 2-3 of an item doesn’t work well at my local Walgreens. They have very few of an item on the shelf. It also seems once they are sold out for the week. The deal is over. Because they rarely restock again. 😿. I also notice I haven’t received the register rewards the last two times I placed an order.

Do you have digital receipts turned on in your account? If so you won’t get the RRs. Did you buy the right varieties not just the right brands because those are triggered by scanning the right bar codes in the required amount?
If you are in store ask before beginning the transaction if the printer is working, turned on and has paper before proceeding. I’ve learned to ask to avoid problems.
It is a fairly easy process to get the RRs replaced by calling 1-888-8COUPON Have your receipt ready and be prepared to state what deal you expected to get RRs on. Expect 10 to 14 days.

      • susan-5

Yes I have digital receipts turned on. I get an email after a transaction. However the RRs do not show up. Judging by the complaints on this site. It seems like a systemic problem Walgreens has had. I have sent several emails. By now I am sure Walgreens is aware this is a problem for their customers. They have done nothing to remedy the problem.

      • susan-5

The RRs are seen at the bottom of the page. But as someone said earlier. This is an estimate of the RR amount. At least that’s what she was told when she called customer service. I do screenshot the transaction. I have emailed them several times. Once they credit me the RRs. It is definitely hot or miss. Unless you want to make a lot calls and emails. It’s just a hassle.

Susan-5, if you have digital receipts turned on you will not receive RRs . RRs and MyWalgreens cash which you see printed on your receipt and estimated MyWalgreens cash you see on the checkout screen are completely different things and earned in different ways. If you want RRs you will have to turn digital only receipts off since RRs are printed and do not show up in your digital account. RRs for the most part come from the manufacturer and not Walgreens. These are triggered by the right varieties in the right amount being scanned at checkout. In the ad these are referred to as register rewards and are distinct from MyWalgreens cash/balance rewards which do come from Walgreens. RRs are often referred to as catalinas since they are administered by Catalina Marketing on behalf of the manufacturers. Sometimes Walgreens will replace missing RRs that do not print but they don’t have to since it is not a Walgreens program. RRs are received in store pickup and in store sales but not ship to home or ship to store.

Susan-5, I can’t tell you everything you need to know about getting MyWalgreens cash in this limited space but I can get you started on a better path I hope. First of all there are two distinct types of deals at Walgreens where you can earn MyWalgreens cash ( that is digital rewards). “Buy” deals require that you buy x number of the right kinds of items and you will get MyWalgreens cash. For example buy 2 select kinds of Oral-B toothbrushes and get $2 of MyWalgreens cash. These are the easiest deals because you can both earn points while redeeming points, use store cash, use discount codes etc. watch for that BUY language in the weekly ads. Than there are “spend” deals. It will read something like SPEND $20 on hair products and earn $5 in MyWalgreens cash. In a SPEND deal like that what counts towards the $20 is ONLY what goes towards what Walgreens puts in the bank. That would be what you actually pay OOP plus MANUFACTURER coupons. It does not include what doesn’t go in their bank account. That excludes Walgreens coupons, % off discounts, paying with MyWalgreens cash, store credit, Walgreens gift cards etc. On a SPEND deal count only what you yourself pay out of pocket plus manufacturer’s coupons ONLY. If you calculate your own points in this manner there are no surprises. I wish that Walgreens would drop estimated points because it confuses people but it is there in the fine print. There are many YouTube videos, specific Walgreens groups on Facebook and the web. Hip2Save has an excellent tutorial on Walgreens. Walgreens.com/help has a nice question and answer section plus the coupon policy. Good luck and best wishes for a better experience.

That’s so helpful thank you! I wanted to do the Garnier skincare and hair deal in the same transaction and use my $4 PG RR from last week, would that work?

Hi! I can’t be totally sure without looking at it but I’m guessing that it says something like “ courtesy of P&G” in which case it would act like a manufacturer’s coupon. If you are going for the manufacturer’s rebate though I wouldn’t use it since to get that you need OOP dollars. There are Garnier Walgreens digitals which you would want to use but NOT count towards your spend total; watch out for those and adjust accordingly. If you like those products and want to stock up than you might want to buy a Sunday newspaper today with some MyWalgreens cash since there are Garnier coupons today or ask friends if they are using theirs. Don’t use the Pand G RRs on any other deal where you expect to receive another RR from P& G because you won’t get it. I like to use the RRs on Diet Coke or the B1G1 free food items. I hope it’s a great week at Walgreens for you.

        • Jan

The paper coupons have a limit of one identical coupon per household per day, so it took both paper and digital coupons for me to do the deal.

  4. Jan

I don’t know if anyone else had this issue with the Garnier rebate, but it took 4 photos to capture my entire receipt legibly. The rebate program only let me upload one file. I’m waiting to see if they review and ask for the rest.
