One reader surprised her children with FREE books she collects through Kellogg’s.

This year Kellogg’s has a sweet offer for shoppers. Through September 30th, you can score a FREE Penguin Random House book with the purchase of select Kellogg’s products like Nutri-Grain Strawberry Bars or Eggo Homestyle Waffles. See our recent post for more info on this free book program!

This week’s Happy Friday reader, Sherri, has taken Kellogg’s up on their awesome offer. She not only collects the free books, but she wraps them up and gifts them to her children at the most opportune time – on their vacation! 🚗 📚 Here’s how she does it!

”I am always on the lookout for deals on Kellogg’s products that my family will love and that qualify for the Kellogg’s summer “Feeding Reading” program. After combining sales and coupons, I can often find really good deals on these products at my local Kroger.

“Over the past few years, I have discovered that stashing these “free” books away for a road trip/vacation is the absolute best idea! I wrap the books with gift wrap from the Dollar Tree and take them with us on our vacations. Once my children start to get stir-crazy, I whip out the books.

“They LOVE having a new book to unwrap and enjoy on our ride, and I love that it’s free! Definitely, make sure you send in those receipts and claim those free books this summer!”

Way to go, Sherri! That’s such a clever and affordable way to keep your kiddos occupied on vacation. We’re so glad to hear you’re taking advantage of such a fantastic offer from Kellogg’s. Thank you so much for sharing this useful tip with us! 🙌

Sherri, what a clever idea! How wonderful that you’re not only
fostering a love of reading for your children, but doing it on
the cheap. And I bet thinking of books as rewards and treats
at a young age will turn your kids into lifelong readers — and,
    bonus, no batteries required!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

So true, Dara! 🥰 I agree that this is such a clever and fun way to foster a love for reading and books! 📚❤️

Love to hear about kids reading books! I support this program every year and donate 10 books to a school in need!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

So thoughtful of you to donate books to schools, riepenhoff! 📚 I’m sure the kids appreciate them! ❤️

I ordered 10 books for my grandkids a couple weeks ago and they already arrived!! I love to bring them books and read to them!!

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Yay! 🎉 I’m sure your grandkids will be excited to have you read new books to them, Jennifer! 💖 📚

I have not found a book list for Kellogg’s feeding reading program for this year, however when your receipt is approved you are given a link to all the books. There are over 100 titles for readers through middle school. About 20% are either hardcover or board books the rest are paperback.

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing how you were able to access a link to all the books available, Diane! 💗

  5. Tracy

You’re welcome, Tracy! Glad you found this helpful! 🤗 💞
