This machine is easy to set up and use, works way faster and better than the Rug Doctor, and is just all-around amazing. We had our carpets professionally cleaned the day we moved into our new house and they couldn’t get out the years-old stains. The Big Green did it in ONE PASS. I got lazy and didn’t use the entire tank the first time I used it so it sat overnight and the water got cold. I used it the next day with cold water and it STILL worked on the stuff the pros couldn’t get out. I never want to be without this thing.
But here’s the only downside: you better be prepared to clean the entire room. Because it does such an amazing job that the carpet will actually be two separate colors between where you cleaned and where you didn’t. So if you don’t want everyone to know how nasty the rest of your carpet is, you have to clean the entire room. But you’ll have fun doing it so it’s not really a downside!
The Big Green removed crazy amounts of dirt from the carpet that I had already shampooed with our old Bissell machine, using the same cleaning solution. The difference was really quite remarkable. The extra powerful motors, the large brush drum, and the superior water extraction make all the difference. I literally cleaned carpets all day yesterday. The device takes the same amount of time as our old one but does the job ten times better. One stubborn stain that wouldn’t budge with my old machine all but disappeared with a single pass.
Bonus: post-use cleaning of the Big Green is so EASY! There are far fewer nooks and crannies for debris to get jammed. I am a very happy customer!
