This machine is fantastic. I like the safety features in it. The machine will not run if the lid is open or the ice tray removed. I got tired of paying over $3 for a small snow cone at the local stand so I invested in the Cuisinart. It is AWESOME! The children of all ages were happy with their 8 oz. snow balls and we could control the amount of syrup they received. We took it to the beach and to a birthday party and it was a huge hit. I love the crushed ice all day long. It’s pretty addictive. I like to use True lemon and lime (crystalized citrus) on the ice for the extra sour. Recommend this for great family fun!
I was skeptical over buying the Cuisinart Snow Cone Maker over renting one for a large gathering even though it was less money than the rental. Turns out this little machine did all that was asked of it by the kids and the adults. I love the consistency of the ice it creates. I am impressed with the simplicity of use and cleanup just means drying it. It looks great and it has the ability to make adequate amounts for what we needed.
If you are planning to serve several snow cones then this is the way to go. The machine is very sturdy and the fact the shaved ice collects in the bin is perfect for serving up your excited snow cone fans. We bought a bag of ice, threw it in a cooler and placed a large amount of ice cubes. The machine handled it without any problems.

Is the ice chunky or shaved?
I just had to comment. We’ve had this for a couple years now and we love it! It’s quick and simple to use. The ice is not chunky, it is snow cone perfect. I highly recommend this product and this is a great price!

Thank you! Grabbed one. You can’t go wrong with cuisinart. My two favorite brands in the kitchen are kitchenaid and cuisinart. This looks like a great quality snow cone machine and I usually pay $5 per kid when we go out so this is perfect. Now need to find some yummy syrups. Any suggestions?
Yes! Don’t waste your money on all the cheap ones. I’ve tried them all. The only ones to use are the Hawaiian Shaved Ice. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but worth every penny and go a long ways. This unit and Hawaiian Shaved Ice syrup makes the perfect snow cone!

I already placed a target pick up order with a Torani one (vanilla) not sure if it will go good with snow cones but it’s all I found. Kids wanted more like cherry etc. Do you get them from Amazon? If so, do you have a favorite flavor?Amazon has a 3 pack for $19.99, is that a good deal?
I got the 6 pk variety flavors from Amazon for about $32. My favorites are cherry and grape. The kids love the tigers blood.

I have made my own syrups. I make simple syrup and then add a koolaid packet to it.
