I have used the Blackstone griddle plastic cover for a few years now and always had to put disposable aluminum pans on the griddle surface so the underside of the cover didn’t get oil all over it. Plus, the cover buckles broke so in a strong wind, the cover would blow off. Also, when using the griddle I had to put the cover somewhere and then wait until the griddle had completely cooled before putting it back on.
All those issues are now solved with this griddle cover. It is sturdy and simply lifts off to hang on the back of the griddle while cooking. When finished, you can simply put it back in place. It also looks nicer than the plastic-looking cover.
Anyone who has purchased a flat-top grill, as well as the rain cover, will see as soon as it rains the top will fill up with snow/rain and become a bucket of water which if left standing will turn to rust. As you use oil to condition the cast iron, things like bugs and stuff hit the grill and get stuck. This cover keeps the grill clean from birds, leaves, and other debris! Awesome product! Must have!
Just spend the money and get this hard cover. It is peace of mind. I still use a cover but water used to get on my tabletop and I had to clean and re-oil each time there was rain. The hard top is great and it also mounts to the back while cooking and also helps prevent wind from diminishing the heat. It’s a must-have accessory!
