Extra tips for making the best Texas toast subs:

  • We used fresh mozzarella and loved it. You can use shredded cheese, or even provolone slices would be great. Use what your family prefers or the cheese you have on hand!
  • Pressing down on your toast after it’s initially toasted will help the meatballs stay in place on the bread.
  • Next time, I may try this with mini meatballs, as those may stay on the bread more easily!
  • Make this a complete meal with a bag of salad mix or a side of veggies.

Meatballs on garlic toast is the best idea!

If your family is already a fan of Texas toast, then they will love this easy lunch or dinner! You could always make your own meatballs if you prefer. I need to get back into more freezer-prep meals, as homemade meatballs are so great to prep and have on hand for nights like this, too.
