I stopped in at my local one and trust me it’s not worth it. The prices were still high 25,35 dollars and the shoes are awful quality.
Oh darn! Thanks for the honest feedback, Laura! It seems pricing and discounts may vary by location.
I agree Laura! Prices were much better before.
I think if payless would have invested in advertising they would still be here. Also they closed all the local stores for just having one in the mall. I always forgot about them when shopping for shoes. who remembers whats in the mall? It was a fun quick stop when I was a kid. We would drive by, stop in for a look see and we would usually end up with a couple of sale shoes. You would remember they were there when you drove by. All the cities in my area had a payless. Oh well I guess we just go to walmart now.
Payless was my go to for little girl dance shoes. Tap, Ballet, Jazz. Don’t know what I’ll do now when it’s 7pm the night before class. : /
I’ll have to plan ahead better.
I raided the last two stores in my area 😁 I stocked up on brands/styles I like since I have been shopping there forever. I will miss them.
I will miss them too! SO glad you could stock up on the cheap!
Went yesterday…the closeout prices are higher than their usual sale prices! I wouldn’t waste your time.
Bummer! Thanks for letting us know what you found in your store, Beth!
Just a reminder that they don’t set the prices. When a store is set to close, the sell off assets to liquidators who then set the prices to cover cost & make money. I haven’t shopped for shoes there in years but would stop in often for sox just to support local stores. Sad that there goes another one.
I didn’t think the prices were that great either, but I had a gift card I had to use so grabbed a couple pairs for my daughter. Better than losing that money! Which, by the way, if you have a gift card or merchandise credit, the last day to use it is today!
Thanks for the heads up! Good to know!
I agree. The prices definitely weren’t that great at the Payless stores that I went to.
My daughter went yesterday too high prices only 40%
I have some gc from them, do you know if I can use gc now? TIA
Last day to use is today!
Here’s a good video that explains what happened to Payless https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJ35lCrOYC0
My local store had dance shoes 50% off so I bought larger sizes. Tights were 30% off…not s bad deal, so I stocked up!
I went Saturday and there was a sign on the door saying that location was still receiving weekly shipments. Also the store was only 30% and I can’t bring myself to pay $18 for some kids shoes. I got light up Cars shoes for my son from Sears for $8 on sale.
Do you still have ladies socks in Red, Navy Blue, Brown and Black?
My local Payless only has 30-35% off with select items 40%. I’m so sad they are closing. That’s always been my go-to store for shoes.
