The primary reason I got this was so I could set multiple alarm times and occasionally listen to music. It works great for both purposes and a few more. Alexa has a great sense of humor programmed in and will even sing you a song.
Unboxing and setup were intuitive and the app is great. We found this to be more useful than we anticipated and ordered a second one the next day. Useful to keep a family grocery shopping list, set reminders, get the weather, play music, answer quick fact questions, and much more. The sound is much better than I thought it would be for playing music, a pleasant surprise.

I bought the echo dot with a clock during Prime Days. The clock dims when the lights go out which I appreciate. After the 3rd day of it scaring me to death when the alarm came on, I found out the alarm volume can only be adjusted through the Alexa app. The alarm volume is different from the regular volume.
The one thing that has made me unhappy is the clock has left a ring that I can’t seem to remove on my new wood night stand. It is now sitting on a coaster.
