Starbucks Has a NEW Holiday Pup Cup! Plus, 20 More Places to Score Dog Treats (Many Free)!
Calling all dog parents! Starbucks is introducing its first-ever holiday Pup Cup design starting November 5th, and it’s absolutely adorable! The festive cups will only be available at select locations for a limited time while supplies last.
And Starbucks isn’t the only place to treat your furry friend! We’ve rounded up 21 spots where you can score pup cups and other dog-friendly goodies, many for FREE! Note that some may only be available at select locations, so be sure to check with your local establishment before making a special trip.
Wondering ‘what is a pup cup’?
A pup cup is a small dog treat made of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream offered by cafes and restaurants.
It is also important to note that some of these items aren’t official dog foods, so be sure to check with your vet before offering anything new to avoid stomach issues. For small dogs, limit treats to just a lick or two.

1. Starbucks (NEW Holiday Puppuccino!) – FREE
Starbucks is giving its beloved FREE Puppuccinos a festive makeover! Starting November 5th, Starbucks is introducing its first-ever holiday Pup Cup featuring an adorable beagle-inspired design on a mini 3.5-ounce cup!
Just ask your barista for a “Puppuccino” when you’re grabbing your favorite coffee, and your furry friend can enjoy a little cup of whipped cream, too!
These special holiday cups will only be available at select company-operated Starbucks locations for a VERY limited time, while supplies last. The regular Puppuccino treat isn’t new — just the adorable holiday cup!
2. Andy’s Frozen Custard – FREE
With locations in 10 states, take your pup to Andy’s Frozen Custard for a free Puppy Cone! 😋
3. Bruster’s – FREE
Bruster’s offers a free doggie sundae with or without a purchase! In select locations, you might even snag a doggie biscuit too. 😉
4. Caribou Coffee – FREE
Caribou Coffee often gives free pup cups of whipped cream for free if you ask!
5. Chick-fil-A – possibly FREE
Many Chick-fil-A drive-thrus have a box of Milk-Bone dog treats at the window and will offer them to pup passengers or possibly a free cup of whipped cream. All you have to do is ask! If they’re not offered a free dog treat, I’m sure your pup will be sure to let you know how much they love Chick-fil-A’s chicken too whenever they smell that delicious food! 😉
6. Culver’s – FREE
Culver’s locations may offer milk bones to dogs coming through the drive-thru. AND, if you drive through the right location, your dog may even get their milk bone in a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
7. Dairy Queen – FREE
Ask your cashier for a Pup Cup the next time you’re at Dairy Queen with your dog, and you may receive a free small serving of vanilla soft serve ice cream topped off with a dog treat (select locations).
8. Dunkin’ Donuts (pup cup latte) – FREE – $1
If you’re heading to Dunkin’ Donuts with your dog, select drive-thrus may keep free dog treats handy. This local Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins offered a puppy latte (whipped cream in a cup) or a free “munchkin” donut hole.
9. Dutch Bros – FREE
Bringing your pup along for a coffee run? Many Dutch Bros locations offer a free “Pup Cup”. Just ask when ordering! It’s a fun little treat for your furry co-pilot.
10. Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers – FREE
Cruise over to Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, where your furry BFF can lap up a FREE frozen vanilla custard pup cup.
11. Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream and Yogurt – FREE
Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream and Yogurt chain likely offers a free pup cup, which features a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Some locations will even offer Dogsters, which are prepackaged dog-friendly treats in peanut butter and mint flavors. In select California locations, they serve delicious frosty paws (soy-based ice cream)!
12. In-N-Out (puppy patty) – $1
If you have an In-N-Out Burger restaurant nearby, you can order a “Pup Patty” for under $1 that features a plain hamburger patty without any salt added and is served in a doggy bag.
13. Johnny Rockets – ask about the secret pet menu!
At Johnny Rockets restaurants, dogs are always welcome. You can order a plain hamburger patty (fee applies) and even ask for a fresh bowl of water for your pup when you sit in the outdoor patio area. At select Johnny Rocket locations, you may even be able to order treats like a doggy hamburger, lickety-split ice cream, or cupcakes… nomz!
14. Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar – $6
With locations in Las Vegas, Texas, and all over California, pup patrons who come to Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar can order their very own bowl of rice and veggies topped with a grilled hamburger or chicken for $6. Even better, bowls of water are complimentary!
15. Panera Bread – FREE
Panera Bread locations will offer a free small side of whipped cream as a pup cup. Typically, dog owners will ask for one while picking up their order through the drive-through, or if an associate sees you have a pup, they may just offer it for free!
16. Scooter’s Coffee – FREE
Scooter’s Coffee gives away pup cups to your furry friends, which feature a cup of whipped cream with a dog treat/biscuit in the middle.
17. Shake Shack (pooch-ini) – starting under $4
Shake Shack offers more extensive options for our furry friends. There is the doggie Bag O’ Bones with 5 ShackBurger Dog Biscuits (rye flour, beef, beef liver, carrots, cheddar cheese, and parsley) for around $7.99 OR a Pooch-ini treat that includes two dog biscuits in peanut butter sauce + vanilla custard for under $4.
18. Shakes Frozen Custard – FREE
With locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, and Texas, you may be able to ask for a free Puppy Cup of Custard the next time you’re stopping by with your pet (may require purchase).
19. Sonic – FREE
If you’re near a Sonic Drive-In with your dog, consider letting them know your furry friend is with you, as they may even bring a dog treat to your car when delivering your meal for free! The secret canine menu varies at each location, but most of the time it’s a whipped cream dessert or vanilla soft serve ice cream (sometimes with a dog biscuit). A tail-wagger for sure! 😉
20. Tim Horton’s “Timbits” – possibly FREE
Tim Horton’s (coffee chain in Canada & the U.S.) offers a sugar-free doggy version of their famous “Timbits” bite-sized doughnuts at select drive-thru locations (limit one per canine customer).
21. Wendy’s – FREE
While not an official menu item, we got word that select Wendy’s locations may offer a free small Frosty cup for dogs (no chocolate added in some cases) or a plain ice cream-style treat if available.
