Came here to say this! I bought this a few weeks ago and it is ridiculously difficult to get the lid off🙁
I also bought this and have issues with the lid. The good is less spills, but even twisting it to pour can be tough at times. I found the easiest way to take the lid off is to twist it to the large opening to the spout and put a finger in the opening to pull it up a little and it comes off so much easier. It is very sturdy though and is a replacement for my rectangle shaped one that had a cracked lid. I prefer the other shape for sleeker storage reasons, but otherwise would get another since I have found an easier way to pry off the lid.
