As much as we love TSA PreCheck, the cost of the application fee is $78 for five years. Did you know you can score FREE TSA PreCheck or Global Entry with certain credit cards and rewards programs? That’s right! You can either use your eligible credit card to pay the application fee or use reward points towards the program, sometimes valued at up to $120!
Note that these credit cards may have varying annual fees and high APRs. Always contact a financial advisor to see which credit card is right for you.

Here’s a list of credit cards with TSA PreCheck reimbursement offers:
1. Capital One Venture Card
*$95 annual fee
You’ve probably seen commercials for the Capital One Venture Card, arguably one of the best travel credit cards and one with TSA PreCheck reimbursement. You receive a credit of up to $120 for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck. Miles can easily be redeemed for travel purposes. When your travels take you abroad, there’s no worrying about foreign transaction fees.
You’ll also score 2x unlimited miles per dollar on every purchase and 5x unlimited miles per dollar on hotels, vacation rentals, and cars booked through Capital One Travel. Plus, after completing at least $4,000 in purchases within 90 days, you’ll receive 75,000 bonus miles!
2. Select American Express Credit Cards

Cards eligible: American Express Gold Corporate Card Members, Consumer Platinum Card® Members, Corporate Platinum Card Members, Business Platinum Card Members, Consumer Centurion® Members, Corporate Centurion® Members, Business Centurion® Members, Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Card Members, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Card Members, Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business Card Members, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business Card Members, and Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express® Card Members.
With select AMEX cards, you’ll get either a $120 statement credit for Global Entry statement credit or a credit of up to $85 for TSA PreCheck once applying through an authorized enrollment provider. You can use this benefit every four years when it comes time for renewal too!
3. United Explorer Card
*$0 annual fee for first year, then $95 annual fee
Sign up for a United Explorer Card, one of the best credit cards with TSA PreCheck reimbursement. You’ll receive a $100 credit towards TSA PreCheck. You’ll also score perks like 50,000 bonus points when you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months, 5,000 bonus miles for adding an authorized user within 90 days, 25% back on United inflight and Club Premium purchases, 7x total miles on United Flights, 4x total miles on United Hotels bookings, and 2x miles on other hotels and dining. Plus, you’ll pay no foreign transaction fees, and you and a companion can each book one bag for free.
4. Chase Sapphire Reserve
*$550 annual fee
Similar to the other travel cards, this Chase card gives you a credit of up to $100 for either Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or NEXUS Fee Credit every four years in exchange for the application fee.
It’s a pretty steep annual fee, though you’ll receive $300 annual travel credit. Other highlights include complimentary access to airport lounges and 60,000 bonus points if you spend $4,000 in the first three months of opening the card.
After the first $300 is spent on travel, you’ll earn 5x the points on flights and 10x the points on hotels and car rentals through Chase! You’ll also earn 3x at restaurants, including dine-in and takeout!
5. Bank of America Premium Rewards credit card

With the Bank of America Premium Rewards Card, rewards include $200 in travel statement credits, $100 in airline incidentals, and $100 in airport security toward TSA PreCheck or Global Entry (every four years). You’ll earn 2 points for every dollar spent on travel purchases and 1.5 points for every other purchase.
After completing at least $4,000 in purchases within 90 days, you’ll receive 60,000 points, a $600 value!
6. Citi/AAdvantage Executive World Elite MasterCard
*$595 annual fee
As reimbursement for your application for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry, Citi’s AAdvantage Card gives you credit every four years of up to $100. You’ll also get a free checked bag, a 25% discount on in-flight food and beverages, priority check-in on American Airlines travel, and 4 AAdvantage Miles for every $1 spent.
Once you have spent $7,000 in purchases within the first three months, you’ll earn 70,000 American Airlines AAdvantage bonus miles; you’ll also become a member of the Admirals Club, which gives you access to 50 lounges located worldwide with the company of up to two guests.
7. Diners Club Carte Blanche Corporate Card

This corporate card supplies $100 airline credit, access to over 1,000 airport lounges in the world, a $100 annual Wi-Fi credit, and $100 application fee credit for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry. If you travel abroad often, you’ll be pleased to know that this card offers a 0% foreign transaction fee so you won’t be paying extra for any international purchases.
8. IHG One Rewards Premier

Since it partners with IHG hotels, this Chase card has tons of travel benefits! You can enjoy a free Anniversary night, free bonus nights, $50 United Airlines cash, and free TSA PreCheck as you get a $100 statement credit as reimbursement for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck fees. You’ll also save 20% on points purchases!
9. Radisson Rewards

If you often stay at Radisson resorts, consider joining Radisson Rewards. You’ll be able to redeem 65,000 points to get code REDEEM NOW, which will cover the cost of the TSA PreCheck application fee for one person.
As a member of Radisson Rewards, you’ll receive a 10% discount with member-only rates. You’ll also get discounts on food and beverages and premium access after three stays. Note that your points are racked up per stay, so you need to collect those 65,000 points to be able to redeem your TSA PreCheck code.
10. Truist Travel Rewards Visa

With a Truist Enjoy Travel credit card, you’ll be eligible to receive a statement credit of up to $85 for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry® fee, which is rewarded once every four years. After you spend $1,500 in the first three months, enjoy 20,000 bonus miles! You’ll also score 2x miles per $1 on airfare, hotels, and car rentals.
Though Truist has no annual fee, it does have an APR up to 29.49%. Take this into account when choosing your card!
11. United MileagePlus

With United Mileage Plus, you can use miles to redeem a payment code for TSA PreCheck! The $78 fee is covered when you redeem 11,000 miles. After applying for TSA PreCheck, you can use your payment code to cover the cost when checking out at the application center (for new applicants) or use it to pay online when renewing.
12. Wells Fargo Choice Privileges Mastercard
*$95 annual fee
If you enjoy staying at Choice Hotels properties like Clarion, Quality Inn & Suites, Cambria Hotels, EconoLodge, or Radisson Hotels, you may consider this credit card. You’ll earn 60,000 bonus points when you spend $3,000 within the first 3 months. That’s enough to redeem up to 7 rewards nights at select Choice Hotels!
You’ll also essentially receive free TSA PreCheck as this card grants you a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit of up to $120 every four years plus zero foreign transaction fees – no TSA PreCheck promo code needed! Although it’s not a credit card, Orbitz Rewards is a great policy if you buy hotels and airlines on Orbitz. Platinum members get reimbursed in Orbucks (Orbitz credits) for TSA PreCheck’s $85 fee, and you get a ton of different perks with this free account.
Here are the best rewards credit cards!
Active TWIC and Hazmat Endorsements get free tsa precheck also. When we checked in at the airline we gave the our Drivers license with the hazmat endorsement and they added it to our reservations. “The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expands TSA PreCheck™ eligibility to all active Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®) and Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) holders who are U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals or lawful permanent residents. Applicable TWIC® and HME holders may now use those credentials to obtain TSA PreCheck when taking a flight. For those with active credentials, not obtained via waiver, the benefit is effective immediately.”

Global Entry members also receive TSA PreCheck® benefits as part of their membership. Therefore, you are better off getting global entry as most credit cards will only pay for one or the other. I had chase sapphire, but switched over to capital one venture x. If you want a good visa infinite travel credit card with excellent benefits, and a large signing bonus (currently 75,000) would recommend venture x. I just flew home from vacation in Miami (a cruise) day before yesterday. There were employees giving details for this Clear program using American Express and offering a 2 week free trial. It was supposedly faster than TSA pre check. I did not try it because I do not have that credit card but some people were going through the line. One passenger in front of me asked “what if you are a platinum card holder for AE” and the response was, “well, you get the year free then ($189 value)!” I’m not sure and haven’t researched but when I seen this article I did a little google search and it looks like Clear is new but unsure whether it is a competitor to TSA Pre Check or a compliment 🙂 Hope this helps anyone traveling soon from one of these busy major airports!!! https://www.afar.com/magazine/is-clear-worth-it-heres-how-to-try-it-for-free-to-find-out
