Our readers LOVE the Whynter Ice Cream Maker …

“The Whynter is awesome! I bought it earlier this summer. I love how fast it is and how you can turn around and put another batch in immediately and subsequent batches are even faster to churn. Made a gallon of peach ice cream yesterday. 🙂 Our family is in love with this machine!!!”

“I have a Whynter and it’s great! Totally would buy it again!”

“I wanted to buy a gift that would be a blessing to others using some money that I received at Christmas. I ended up buying a brand new Whynter 2.1 quart machine. We have used it a few times and love it. However, I think I get as much delight every time I lend it out to others. Last night, someone borrowed it who can barely open his mouth because of an infection in his jaw. He was so excited to make homemade ice cream.”

300 for ice cream? And that doesn’t include the ingredients… Who has that kind of money?

It’s worth every single penny! We’ve had it for I think three years now. I use a super simple basic recipe….2 cups half & half, 2 cups heavy cream 2/3 cup sugar, 4 tsp vanilla…and then flavors and add ins. We have not purchased ice cream or italian ice once since we bought this machine. My kids will even pass up ice cream at restaurants bc they like the homemade better. When it’s fresh made it comes out like a perfect soft serve….after a few hours in my freezer it’s like regular hard pack ice cream. My kids love ice cream and so do my parents and grandmother who lives with us. We were buying two containers a week before…so this can absolutely pay for itself but more importantly…I know exactly what is in the ice cream my family eats.

You are getting MUCH more than ice cream!! This is one of the BEST kitchen appliances I own. We don’t just use it for ice cream, we use it for slushies too. For adults, it makes killer wine slushies, pina colodas, and daiquiris. I LOVE mine!!!

For the right person or family, it might be a great investment. Up front cost might pay for itself over time. I try to weigh these purchases out. I could go to a hotel with my husband and two kids for two nights and spend the same amount of money and look back and say I have nothing to show for those two nights nor do I regret it. If this ice cream maker is a lot of fun, great treats and lots of memories for years to come… well then I might have to punt on a weekend away with family… set up a tent in the backyard or a fort in the living room and opt for a stay-cation with lots of homemade ice cream!

I love your thought process, Mayalynn! I totally think the same way. There have been many times we’ve skipped a movie night in the theater in exchange for a new board game we could play over and over.

We’ve had this ice cream maker for 3 years, and it’s awesome! With supply chain issues, ice cream shortages, and price hikes, it has been well with the price, especially when paired with the Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream cook book :). My kids (politely) demand the homemade ice cream now.
