Blue Cross Blue Shield $2.67B Settlement Payments Are Rolling Out (Check Your Email!)
We finally have an update on the historic Blue Cross & Blue Shield Anti-Trust Settlement!
The long-awaited Blue Cross Blue Shield Settlement payouts are finally starting to roll out for people who filed valid claims in 2021.
After fees and costs, about $1.9 billion is being shared among more than 6 million approved claims. Some estimates suggest payments could average around $333, but the exact amount will depend on your coverage and how much you paid in premiums.
If you submitted a claim, watch for payment updates by email or mail!
This is one of the largest health insurance antitrust settlements in U.S. history. It resolves a 12-year lawsuit alleging the company violated antitrust laws. Affected class members include individuals, insured groups, and self-funded accounts from early 2008 through late 2020.
While Blue Cross Blue Shield denied any wrongdoing, the company agreed to a $2.67 billion settlement to resolve claims that it violated antitrust laws by limiting competition among its plans.
If you filed a claim in 2021, check your email and spam folder for “Blue Cross Blue Shield Settlement – Claim Notice.” If you receive a claim determination notice, you’ll have 30 days to review or dispute the records listed.

Is there any place to get more info as the website doesn’t have a link update? I have a claim number but have moved and changed email addresses so the likelihood of receiving an update is slim to none. Thanks!

You could try searching your email for their name. Be sure to check the spam or junk folders as well. Hoping this helps!
