Check Your Kitchen: FDA Expands Recall on Frozen Foods, Snacks & More Due to Salmonella Risk

Heads up if you’ve recently stocked up on frozen foods or pantry staples. The FDA has expanded a widespread salmonella-related recall connected to powdered milk ingredients supplied by California Dairies, Inc.
The recall now includes dozens of products sold at major retailers nationwide, including select frozen pizzas, snack mixes, potato chips, pork rinds, and powdered drink mixes from brands like Great Value, Mama Cozzi’s, Zapp’s, Dirty Chips, Good & Gather, Fisher, and Ghirardelli.
Because many of the affected items have long shelf lives, officials warn they could still be sitting in refrigerators, freezers, or pantries. Consumers are advised not to eat the recalled products and should instead throw them away or return them for a refund.
Salmonella infections can cause symptoms like fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps, with young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems facing a higher risk of serious illness.
