Are These Chicken Nuggets From Costco Better Than Chick-fil-A?
Crazy about Chick-fil-A Chicken nuggets? 🙋🏻♀️
Word on the street (aka social media) is that Costco has started carrying chicken nuggets that give Chick-fil-a a run for their money. You know we had to take one for the team and give ’em a try so we could let ya know what we think and if they’re a hit or a miss!
A while back we tried the Sam’s Club Maker’s Mark southern-style chicken nuggets and sandwiches. Even though the sandwiches were a total win, the nuggets just didn’t quite live up to our expectations. After all the hype we’d seen online, we had high hopes for these Just Bare Nuggets sold at Costco.
These Chick-fil-A copycat nuggets are totally affordable!
Just Bare Chicken Nuggets are only $17.99 for a four-pound bag at Costco which works out to just $4.50 a pound. Compare that to an order of 8 nuggets at Chick-fil-A sold for $5.85, it’s easy to see who the winner in the price category is, but how do they stack up taste-wise?
We also spotted this Just Bare Chicken Filets 3lb Bag for just $15.89 – that’s just $5.30 per pound! Imagine the Chick-fil-A sandwiches you can recreate at home!
Get the taste of Chick-fil-A right at home (even on a Sunday)!
How cool is it that the Just Bare chicken nuggets not only have conventional oven and microwave heating instructions but they’ve also gone a step above and included the air fryer cooking time as well. This makes it super easy for teens and older kids to make a quick snack for themselves after school, and even on a Sunday when Chick-fil-A is closed! YES!
I don’t know about you, but I hope more companies will start to include air fryer cooking times on their products from now on!
So how do the Chick-fil-A copycat nuggets taste… 🤔
Y’all! These nuggets are legit! My tastebuds are a little muted after having COVID, but they are pretty darn close to Chick-fil-A but maybe just missing the total pickle flavor. You could probably grab a little pickle juice and brush on halfway through cooking to get the full flavor. We always save our extra sauces when we go, so once we dipped them in, it was just like the real thing.
Cooking them in the air fryer was super easy and made them crisp right up. I really think your kiddos are going to love them – even the picky ones. They weren’t gristly at all which is something I had heard about the Sam’s Club nuggets so I was happy that these were not. Seriously, get these ASAP!
Here’s what my other teammates had to say about these Chick-fil-A copycat nuggets…
“OMG THESE ARE GOOD!! Don’t hesitate to pick up these nuggets at Costco. My kids are obsessed with Chick-fil-A and really enjoyed these as they have the same vibe. I love the flavorful batter, and they taste super high quality and are a great CFA dupe at home!
I love that there are actual air fryer directions on the bag that worked perfectly too! I whipped up a quick copycat CFA honey mustard sauce recipe (you can find our sugar-free version here) and it was a completely awesome chicken nugget experience!” – Lina
“I’ve been trying to stay out of the drive-through in an effort to eat healthier and save money. These nuggets were so easy to throw in the air fryer and were ready in just 8 minutes. Now when I get a craving at night for CFA I can grab some of these bad boys for a quick dinner or snack. I dipped them in some sriracha and these nuggets were a total win!” – Stetson
The secret is in the sauce!
I gotta tell ya, while these nuggets are OMG good, they just wouldn’t be the same without a delicious sauce to dip them in! Luckily you can now buy bottles of some of your favorite Chick-fil-A sauces in stores like Walmart, at your local Chick-fil-A, and from Amazon!
I’m a sucker for the CFA Polynesian sauce, it’s so good I want to swim around in it. YUMMO! Or if you’re like me, you possibly have a billion packets stashed away in your fridge from your various trips through the drive-through. 😅
Prefer to make them from scratch? Give our Chick-fil-A copycat nuggets recipe a try!
They don’t have them at my Costco. When I inquired about them, they checked in their system and told me they were discontinuing them.
Same with our Costco. I was bummed to hear that. 🙁
Oh nooooooo!!!! That makes me sad!
My mom told me about these and so I bought them the other day. Haven’t tried them yet, but she likes them!
Hope you love them too, Lindsey!
I grabbed a bag last week. Then I got a bag of waffle fries at Walmart. Will be experimenting soon!
YUM! Enjoy!
I get these all the time. They’re delicious. They also work really well tossed in barbecue as a “boneless wing” and I even toss them in teriyaki and serve them over rice sometimes.
Ooh! Love that idea! Thanks for the suggestion!
We loved these nuggets. We were a bit skeptical as we ended up tossing the Sams Club version since no one liked them, but these are fantastic. I just pray they don’t discontinue them.
We don’t have a Costco… any suggested runner up?
Sam’s sells some.
My grandkids won’t eat the Sam’s Club brand.
Very strong dill pickle flavor.
Can’t wait to try them. I refuse to eat at Chick-fil-a. Sounds yummy. My brothers love chicken, me not so much. More into beef….
Costco had Tysons brand that was better but they do not carry them anymore. These are ok
I’ve been getting these and they are as good as chick fil A. My family loves them!
We discovered these last year and my entire family loves them! My daughter thinks they are CFA nuggets. I put them in the air fryer for 11 minutes instead of 8 to give them a little extra crisp. So yummy!
Anything that gives me an option not to pay CFA prices… willing to give it a go! I actually tried the nuggets recipe off Hip2Save with the homemade sauce and those were super yummy! I didn’t even have an air fryer than so I’m excited to use the recipe again and make em sure crispy. If you don’t have a Costco membership, get the kids involved and make their recipe!
Oh yes! Thanks for the reminder, Brit! https://hip2save.com/recipes/copycat-chick-fil-a-nuggets-air-fryer/
Happy you enjoyed that recipe! 😋
No I do not think so.
I got these once and my whole family loved them! I haven’t been able to find them since. 🙁
That is my biggest frustration with Costco!!!! Whenever I find something I like, I can never find it again!
Bought some of these a month ago at our Costco when I was looking for a chix nugget to use to make orange chicken at home. These are great and worked perfectly with the Panda Express Orange Sauce.
Most of the comments are saying they have them, but didn’t try them. Please try them first then comment and let us all know how they taste.
Um Angela, you snuck in there you recently had COVID and your taste buds are muted. So sorry to hear that and hope you will make a full recovery. Stay safe and wishing you continued health❤️
Aww, thank you Bunny for your kind words! I’m doing good, thank you so much! 😘
Great value/Walmart carries a chicken dipping sauce that I think is a great substitute for cfa sauce. Enjoy.
Oh yes! Thanks for the reminder! We’ve seen that sauce too!
They’re good…the kids all like them. Every once in awhile you get a wonky one though. Yuck!
Agree with the wonky ones! I’ve had a couple and now I’m turned off by them all. Not sure how to explain the taste.
I haven’t tried these, but we’ve had the Member’s Mark Chicken Bites from Sam’s Club many times and my kids love them. They taste very similar to the ones at Chick-fil-A. They also have Member’s Mark Chicken Sandwiches which taste like the regular chicken sandwiches at Chick-fil-A.
They taste just like CFA if you cook them in an air fryer. I work at Costco and they fly off the shelf.
Now I have to go to Costco, I hope they have them. I can’t stand dill pickles and have to order my chick fila sandwiches without those gross pickles.
Can you tell me if there is soy on ingredients list?
Hey, Cassandra – these are the ingredients I see and they do include soybean oil.
Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast, Water, Seasoning (sugar, Salt, Spices Including Paprika And Celery, Chicken Fat, Spice Extractive, Canola Oil, Soybean Oil), Rice Starch. Breaded With: Wheat Flour, Sugar, Salt, Nonfat Dry Milk, Dried Egg Whites, Baking Powder
Jesus….could this be any unhealthier?! eheh
You really should avoid this kind of industrial food!
We tried them and didn’t like them. They are so bready and far from tasting similar to chick fil-a. I’m guessing everyone is dipping them in chick fil-a sauces which is probably tricking the minds , making one think they taste the same? Our family aren’t big fans of processed frozen foods.
I like them, they have a peppery kick like CFA, but they aren’t really a substitute or copycat. I did like them though.
I bought the Costco Just Bare chicken chunks. Unfortunately I ended up with an entire quarts sized bag, full of breaded crumbs!
Our Costco still has these as of last week. I have also been able to find smaller packs of these at Food Lion.
FYI Walmart has a CFA sauce dupe. It’s really good and way cheaper than the original! It’s called Chicken Dipping Sauce.
We like them. No way are these healthy in any sense of the word. They do not taste like Chick fil a. But they are one of the tastiest frozen chicken nuggets if that is what you eat.
