How to make dill dip hip2save

Note: I’ve used low fat sour cream in the past – the consistency is pretty thin but it still has great flavor. This dip is a family favorite and goes fast! If you happen to have any leftovers, this dip makes a great sauce served on top of fish. Enjoy!

I love dill dip, I always use greek yogurt for thickness and extra protein.

      Great idea 🙂

    • Katie

That’s what I do too! I usually make a tzaziki dip with shredded cucumber, dill, garlic powder, lemon juice, and Greek yogurt.

    • mapdap

Does the yogurt replace the sour cream or mayo?

  2. Jennifer

Wow, never thought to put leftovers on fish I bet it’s great! I have put this on a baked potato before and that was super good.

  3. Kate

I love dill dip. I buy the round King’s Hawaiian bread, hollow out the center, and place this dill dip in the middle. Serve it on a large platter with the torn up middle pieces around the edges. As people eat the dip, they can continue to tear off more pieces of the bread and enjoy with the dip. YUM!

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Oh yum! I want that now 🙂

    • Joanne Edmonds

I do the same thing with a big round loaf of pumpernickel. This is also delicious with spinach chopped and mixed in.

  4. Maria

This may sound dumb, but what is real mayonnaise? I hear that and I think what makes mayonnaise fake? Lol

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

To me it means not miracle whip.

Hellmann’s or Best Foods, depending on what side of the rockies you are, their product is named REAL mayo.

    • BreB

      We like Duke’s!

  5. Flgrl

Yum, I’ll try it with greek yogurt instead of the mayo and sour cream.

    • Rebekah

If you use the greek yogurt, is it 2 cups of the yogurt to get the same amount correct?

  6. Lacy

Yummy Lina! Perfect it for our fantastic weather we are having!

  7. Shelby

this dip is also yummy atop a baked potato

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Yum! Great idea

I make a version of this dip that has different seasoning proportions.
    1 pint sour cream
    1 cup mayo
    1 Tablespoon McCormick SeasonAll
    1 Tablespoon dried dill weed
    1 Tablespoon dried chopped onion
    1 Tablespoon dried parsley

I have used both low fat and regular mayo and sour cream. Tastes great either way! And it is always a hit at parties.

  9. Kidsallgone

When I clicked on the Caprese salad on a stick it takes me to the dip 👎👎

  10. Sherry

Try adding BauMonde to the dip also garlic powder.

  11. Diana

What amount of onion powder would you recommend if not using fresh grated onion?
    Thank you!
