This method is so easy and works great! Sometimes, I buy fresh corn and it sits in the fridge because I’m too busy to make it, but there’s no excuse now! This is a great tip if you need a quick side dish at dinnertime. Do you have any kitchen tips for cooking corn that work for you?
Whoow didn’t know about this one!! I’m Hispanic and my husband Caucasian ! I will cut the ends of the corn take husk and boil them! Or I shave all the corn and boil it and put in freezer bags and when the girls want corn just defrost and eat with mayo and chili power and cheese !!!
Yum! I was in Mexico recently and couldn’t get enough of corn served that way-SO GOOD. π
I just put the ears directly on the oven rack 20min @ 375
Let them cool a bit then peel the husks off super easily and enjoy!
This actually DOES work!! Started doing it this way end of last summer & this year too. Hubby takes it out & cuts off the ends for me cuz it is very hot… But he said the other day, “why did we do it the hard way for all these years?” Comes out perfect. Just a few hairs on it to pick off, but it is the best!!! I usually get big ears, so I cook them longer, about 6 minutes for 2 ears.
We actually cook them with the ends on & cut them off after it is cooked. Keeps it all closed up & steams them.
that’s how we cook it also. We just throw them on the grill and turn them frequently with the husks completely on. When they turn brownish is when we remove them. It’s good to let them cool for 10 minutes before we remove the husk as to not get burned.
That is how I do t too, but just in the microwave. Cook half of the time needed, rotate it and finish the cooking time. No fuss at all!
We just leave our corn in the huskes at 3 minutes per ear. Remove from microwave and cut bottom end off and SQUEEZE the corn out (the silk comes with it). Soooo easy!
Pressure cooker= 4 minutes
I had 2 in the morning. Just put it in the microwave for 3 minutes. Yumm. (I used to boil them but this method is quick and easy)
Thank you!
I’ve been microwaving them as well. The EASIEST way to remove the silk is to use a soft bristle toothbrush. I learned that trick from America’s Test Kitchen.
I love them on the grill. Been having them often that way this summer. Just peel down rub some butter and munch on π
