Bake this Cheesy Crab Rangoon Dip Recipe with Wonton Dippers!
The next time you need a crowd-pleasing party appetizer, try this simple crab rangoon dip recipe.
Instead of making crab rangoon individually, create an easy dip!
No one can resist a bubbling cream cheese dip including this incredible crab rangoon one! Typically this appetizer is served like a crab puff with the cream cheese filling inside crispy fried wonton wrappers. It can be a little time-consuming to fill and then fry each piece on the stove.
With this idea, you can just mix the dip ingredients in a bowl and bake it. Then consider baking the wonton wrappers in the oven with a little spray of oil so they turn out crispy.
The result is a rich and creamy crab dip with three types of cheese and crispy wonton dippers that can easily be made in the oven. This is such a great dip for entertaining and is always super popular. In addition to the wontons, you can slice up a small baguette loaf and have small bread dippers too.

More tips for making this crab rangoon dip recipe:
- Can I prepare this as a Crock-Pot crab rangoon dip? I would think yes! Cream cheese dips typically do well melted in the slow cooker and it’s a brilliant way to keep them warm. Cover the dip and cook on low for a of couple hours until melted.
- You can use canned crab like I did or buy imitation crab instead.
- Feel free to change up the type of shredded cheese in this recipe. I went with sharp white cheddar and Monterrey Jack, but feel free to use parmesan or mozzarella. I think that shredding your own cheese is worth it here as it melts nicer.
What an awesome dip recipe!
I love that it requires minimal effort, has easy-to-source ingredients, and yet looks and tastes fancy and yummy. If you’re looking for a unique appetizer dip to try out for your next party give this one a try!
This isn’t Crab Rangoon. This is classic crab dip. Totally different.
Thanks for the feedback! ❤️It seems a Rangoon dip consists of cream cheese, crab meat or imitation crab meat, scallions or onion, garlic, and other sauces like the sesame oil and Worcestershire sauce noted above. It also incorporates the wonton wrappers. It may vary as to how everyone makes theirs. I do make a regular crab dip often and don’t include those sauces, but I DO add lots of Old Bay Seasoning. 🦀😋Hoping you might like this version if you decide to try it! 🤗
Why so rude? There is a lot of work put into these posts. Wow.
Crab Rangoon at the Chinese restaurants is literally cream cheese, crab, scallion and garlic in a wonton wrapper. So this is Crab Rangoon with benefits 😂
This looks good! Will give it a try. Thanks Lina
