Make Easy Parmesan Meatballs in the Air Fryer

Air Fryer Parmesan Meatballs

yield: 8 SERVINGS

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated (or Pecorino Romano)
  • 1/3 cup Italian seasoned panko bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup dried minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • salt & pepper to taste

Directions

1

Prep air fryer by greasing the inner basket. In a large mixing bowl, combine all meatball ingredients and mix well using a potato masher.

2

Roll 2-inch sized meatballs and place in a single layer in the air fryer, without them touching. I'm able to fit about 12-14 in my 6-quart air fryer at a time.Β

3

Cook at 350 degrees for about 13-14 minutes. Start checking at 12 minutes to see if done, as cook times can vary a little.

4

Optional Step:Β Place meatballs in a small, oven-safe dish. Drizzle with marinara sauce and a little extra cheese. Place back into the air fryer for a couple minutes to melt.

5

Serve meatballs as desired with spaghetti and marinara, by themselves, or in a sandwich as desired.

easy air fryer Parmesan meatballs in the air fryer

Love homemade meatballs?

Spaghetti and meatballs are an easy dinner I know my family gets excited for. Even my pickiest eater LOVES a good meatball, and these easy air fryer Parmesan meatballs are something you can throw together easily and they taste DELICIOUS!

I love easy air fryer meal ideas!

Parmesan meatballs have pretty minimal pantry ingredients you probably likely have on hand, and I like dishes you can pretty much eyeball and not measure super closely like this! Really, you can season them as desired, or leave out an ingredient that doesn’t sound optimal for your family.

I use Parmesan cheese usually, but I happened to have a block of Pecorino Romano that I used today, which tasted amazing and is also Collin’s fave cheese!

Making meatballs in the air fryer is a cinch, too!

They cook in about 13-14 minutes, and while they brown nicely around the outside, they’re still tender inside. One of the benefits of air frying I like is that it’s super easy to open and close the drawer to check on how things are cooking. I have a 6-quart Nuwave air fryer that I use often and love!

Don’t have an air fryer? Just follow the same directions except bake them on a sheet pan for about 20 minutes on 350 degrees in a traditional oven.

After meatballs are done cooking, you can use them in spaghetti or perhaps meatball sandwiches to your liking. I spooned some marinara sauce over mine in a small baking dish, topped with a little extra cheese, and then placed them back in the air fryer for a couple more minutes to melt.

The air fryer does it again!

Fantastic tasting meatballs that can be served over pasta and marinara sauce, with simple ingredients and an easy process. My family enjoys this recipe so much, and I know yours will, too.

These meatballs also freeze perfectly! This recipe made about 28 meatballs, and I froze half of them for a later day. Yippee!

      Aw yay thanks Babymair! ❀️

I make mine in the oven and brown them by setting the temp to Broil for a couple of minutes at the end. They brown up really nicely that way!

    • Mimi

When I used beef only, my meatballs were dry too. Nowadays I always use half ground beef and half ground pork for meatballs and meatloaf. HTH. πŸ™‚

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Yay! Enjoy Lindsey!

  4. beth

You can make them low carb by substituting ground pork rinds for the bread crumbs. Or skip them all together. It still turns out so tasty!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Great idea! Thanks Beth!

    • Shey

This is my plan for dinner tonight. Skipping the bread crumbs.

  5. Cristine

I always make my meatballs in the oven, but I will try the air fryer next time! Just used it to make eggplant parm and it was amazing!!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

ok now that sounds AMAZING!! Yum. πŸ™‚

      • Cristine

I cheated- I use the pre-breaded eggplant from Trader Joe’s. Less than $3 per box and I can air fry it and throw it in the casserole dish with sauce and cheese. It was YUM!

        • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

          Great idea!!

    • Sheri

Just got an air fryer and wanted to try eggplant parm-any tips?

  6. Denise

  7. Tolu

We’ve been making spring rolls with shrimp and cream cheese in our air fryer. So yum.

    • Tracy

Oh please, share your recipe. That sounds so good.

      • Tolu

Sure. I don’t have exact measurements because we just eyeball everything. Large spring roll wrappers, shrimp diced and cooked. We saute sliced onions, shishito peppers, habanero and season as desired. In a bowl mix cream cheese (amount depends on how creamy you want it), sauteed veggie mix, shrimp, any spices of choice, some freshly chopped spring onions, dash of Worcestershire sauce. Sometimes we just saute coleslaw mix in as well. Today my husband did all the above and added potatoes too. It was delicious. Wrap securely and we bake at 320 for about 8-10 minutes. Depends on how brown you want it. Hubby likes to glaze sometimes with butter but I lightly spray with avocado oil. Hope this helps

        • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

That sounds yummy! Thanks so much for sharing πŸ˜€

  8. KC

Would this work as mini hamburgers on Hawaiian rolls?

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh yum ya that’d be good πŸ‘

  9. Debbie

? what would you consider aN OVEN safe dish to use in the air fryer, when u say add some sauce and cheese and put BACK IN AIR FRYER – in other words ( any dish/ plate that is oven proof can go in the air fryer.)
Ps just used mine for the first time ( i have it for a year already) i made a whole chicken…. WOW MOIST CRISPY AND DELISH .. EXCITED TO MAKE MORE STUFF

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Ya i just used a small casserole dish. Any metal or glass dish that is oven safe and fits, should work out great! I’m so glad to hear about the chicken! Yum!

  10. Lori

What temp for the air fryer for the meatballs ???

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Step 3—->Cook at 350 degrees for about 13-14 minutes. Start checking at 12 minutes to see if done, as cook times can vary a little.

  11. dhcoupons

    Hi Lina,
I made these last night and they were great! So, in your picture, you have 2 eggs, but in the recipe, there are no eggs listed. I made without eggs and they were great for meatball sandwiches! Just fyi

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh my goodness THANK YOU for your eagle eyes!! I amended recipe to include them, because I did use eggs (FACE PALM) – I am however glad it all worked out without them πŸ™‚ Hooray for the air fryer!

  12. nick

i find that soaking stale bread (italian or sliced white) in water or milk and wringing out the excess moisture renders a much better texture to the final product….bread crumbs are too dense and make for a tougher texture

  13. Mary

Hi Lina, did you use lean ground beef or 80/20? Thank you for all your awesome air fryer recipes.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I just likely did yes, but you can use what you have in hand. Thanks Mary for stopping by!

  14. Tina9222

I add ripple potato chips in my meatballs with seasoning like Mrs dash, half beef half turkey no eggs… AMAZING!!!
