In need of a foolproof crowd pleasing Thanksgiving side dish?

For most, a Thanksgiving dinner is all about the turkey but for me it’s all about the DELICIOUS Sage Sausage Stuffing! It’s my favorite side dish on turkey day, and is actually pretty simple to make. I usually end up buying the cube stuffing from the store, but you can make your own if desired!  We prefer this classic stuffing made in a casserole dish instead of inside the turkey.

I love how the top gets brown and a little crispy. And it smells so great too! Hooray for stuffing! Break out the elastic waist pants and have some more! 😉

I make something very similar to this. I sub spicy sausage and add cranberries. It’s sooo good.

Yum! I never thought to add cranberries. Do you use the dried kind?

  2. Sammy

Would it be good without the sausage?

    • mel

Yes. I had a similar recipe that I cannot seem to locate, but I made it often without the sausage.

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

Yes I’m sure yummy as well. 😀

  3. lori

I use hamburger and cranberry with the stuffing and stuff acorn squash with the stuffing and everyone loves it!

      That sounds awesome Lori!

Lina, you are the BOMB!!! I found a few boxes of stove top stuffing in my pantry last night and I could not find the recipe I had written down that called for onions and apples. This seems pretty close (though I’ll be omitting the sausage)! And will make for a nice side dish for the baked chicken tomorrow for dinner!

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Oh yum! Yay
