Quick Tip: Best Way to Reheat Pizza
This simple kitchen hack will breathe new life into your day-old pizza! 🍕
On those rare occasions when there is leftover pizza (not very often in my house!), here is a great way to reheat those leftovers – no microwave needed!
Yep, the stovetop is the way to go. Using a skillet on the stovetop takes the crust back to a yummy, crispy texture unlike the microwave (which can make it rubbery) or the oven (which can dry out the sauce). And why heat up your whole oven when you can simply turn on the stove for just a few minutes?! To ensure the toppings and cheese get perfectly melted, add a lid to the pan and cook for around 5-6 minutes. ENJOY!

Awesome. Will try this. Thanks!
YW Pia!! π
Absolutely the best way, been doing it for years.
This is how my mom does it. Mmmm. Now wishing we had leftover pizza in the fridge.
LOL! π
Oh wow, good to know! Thanks!
You’re so welcome! π
This is how I heat up my pizza because I saw it on food network years ago. I usually spray some olive oil nonstick spray in the pan first, and I’ll flip it over briefly to heat up the cheese. It is delicious and crispy – way better than the microwave!
I agree Bobbi!! So much better than the microwave! π
All I ever do-it’s the best!!!
I frequently only have about 2 slices left so that is perfect
Reheat? Whatever for? Cold pizza is the best! LOL
Laura, I’m with you! Cold pizza is the best, but I would NEVER turn down a hot one or room temperature one either (but who can wait that long?) LOL
Exactly! Cold pizza and soda makes the best breakfast – I know – unhealthy, but oh so delicious!
I was wondering if someone would make this comment! I seldom reheat pizza and have been known to take a hot pizza and stick it in the fridge until it gets cold!
Cold pizza is my fave! Both my kids love it too! lol
I use my toaster oven 350 for 8 minutes for 2 slices, it makes it nice and crispy.
I put mine in the toaster oven for 5 minutes. Comes out great!
What a great idea!! We usually use our little toaster oven to reheat pizza but this is worth a try!! Thanks Linaπ
I do this too! Cook it in the skillet to make the crust crispy then I put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
Best way! Much better than the toaster oven. Learned this through the NY Times
It’s even better cold straight out of the fridge π
Cold works too!
I just want to thank you for providing such great deals, tips and fun. I’ve been following your site and I never leave disappointed. You and your team really are incredible! Thanks!!
That is the sweetest comment – Thanks Maggie !!
Ummm no college students all no stick a slice in the actual toaster
I’ll have to try this. I usually do the toaster oven method. Thanks!
This sounds awesome! I will definitely try this. And right now I’m wondering why I didn’t think of it
Haha – You will love it! Thanks for reading!
BROILER ALERT: If you want to get really crazy, heat it up in the skillet on the stove and then stick it under the broiler to get the cheese extra melty
Ha yum! I like this idea! π
I usually run water over the back side of the pizza then pop in toaster oven for 7 to 10 minutes, comes out supper good, not drying at all.
Huh!! I will try this next time!
Yep worth a try! π
Oh yeah! I pretty much depend on having leftovers all weekend from our pizza friday so this is a useful tip!! You’re right. Better than heating up the ovenβΊ
Yeah! I agree ππ
Not gonna lie, I’m sure this is good but I’m always happy with it straight outta the microwave. And really, if I’m eating leftover pizza, it’s usually gonna be shamefully late, in pajamas, using the laziest method possible lol.
Agree micro is good enough .. .easy clean up. …only dealing with a few slices.
We love leftover pizza breakfast bake…kinda like quiche with cut up pizza slices, eggs and cheese and oregano!Yummy think I got from Allrecipes!
Wow! That a great idea- thank you Terrie!
I’ve never reheated slices in a pan on the stovetop. Sounds like a winner.
Questions: Does the pan have to be preheated first? And, what temperature (low, med. etc…) should the burner be set at?
Thanks
Ya it’s worth a try for sure. Yes, and I usually do med heat π thanks
Saw this at right time, had left over from last night in Fridge. Will try for sure, its great idea rather than using Microwave(unhealthy option).
Thanks Lina
I had never thought about reheating my pizza on the stove! My family absolutely loves pizza and we order it often! Parker, my son, loves to craft his own pizza but usually leaves like half of the pizza for the next day. I definitely will show him this and see about the stove — thanks again!
I have also done it this way for years–best ever!! Hubby however eats his cold–UUUGG!
Try heating your pizza in the air fryer….takes just a couple minutes and it tastes as fresh as the day before!
I use the toaster oven too, but instead I put it on the βtoastβ setting for about four minutes. Makes the crust crunchy again
My leftover pizza is always frozen, and when I tried it on the stove, it didn’t work. But my trusty AIR FRYER works great, crispy crust, melty cheese, yumm.
