Looking at this for kids( 10 and 12) for school work On goggle and watch movies Netflix’s. Any recommendations?
This Chromebook doesn’t have enough ram or flash memory to be very useful. I would recommend looking at this one that has at least 4gb of ram and 32GB of internal storage. I would also recommend looking for one with a Full HD 1080 display. If you enter this item number B078WZLFDB on Amazon you’ll find the one that I’m currently typing on can be had for $179. Our family has two of these Chromebooks and they’ve performed flawlessly for the last year and a half.

My kids 6, 8 and 10 have this. They play games like roblox and watch YouTube on it just fine. No it isn’t fancy but the price is good and it is great for a first computer that doesn’t break the bank.
You’re absolutely right that it’s a good system for Roblox and general media consumption. The reason that I suggested another model for Tracey is because she had mentioned her kids would be using it for school as well. Granted the Samsung will do for google docs and such. Many of the apps my daughter uses for her STEM class require more storage and ram to run properly. With that said, I really think all Chromebooks are amazing in the sense that they’ve made computers accessible to all. Now if they could just tackle the cost of high speed internet.

It looks like yes to Microsoft Word through apps downloaded from Google Play. No to Cricut as far as I can tell. Google and see what you think.
Cricut Design Space requires a Windows or Mac operating system when used on a desktop or laptop computer. Instead of Windows or Mac iOS, Chromebooks run Google’s Chrome operating system, which is not compatible with Cricut Design Space. Sorry, Laura. :/

We got this last Christmas for our 9 year old. It’s great! Perfect for writing stories and practicing his typing, listening to music, school research and emailing family. We have all the safety settings on and haven’t had any issues!

My kids all use them at school starting in elementary. It is like a stripped down laptop. Doesn’t have all the functionality but if you like Chrome as your web browser, you make like a Chromebook. I personally think once they are teenagers they would want a more traditional laptop. Hope that helps.
What about return policy? I’d like to get this for Christmas for my son but will they take it back after Christmas if he doesn’t like it? I can only find a 14 day return policy.
There’s an extended return policy for the holidays through January. It says excludes cellular phones, cellular tablets and wearables. I you can always call the store and ask them.
I went to look at this Chromebook today at the store. It has printed on the box that it will only receive updates from Google until June of 2021. After that it won’t receive any more security or other updates. Target is going to have a $99 HP Chromebook that will receive updates through 2022 so I’m hoping to get one of those.

This was on my nephews Christmas list. Ordered last week off ebay, refurbished, for $28 shipped and bought a hard shell case on amazon for $20. This makes me feel like I still got a good deal!
I bought one last year similar to this on e for my 11 year old sister I bought it for school purposes but she also watches YouTube and hasn’t had problems with it
