These Affordable School Lunch Containers are a Reader-Fave
The countdown to school is upon us!
Back to school season is in full swing, and parents are checking their lists twice to make sure their kids are all set for the new school year.
Still need a lunchbox for your little one? Check out why Hip2Save reader DeAnna loves these affordable and brightly-colored Easy Lunch Boxes from Amazon, and how she makes lunches special for her daughter.
My daughter started kindergarten last year, and due to the high cost of school lunch, we decided to send her to school with “cold lunch” from home. She really loves Lunchables, but we couldn’t justify the cost of those, either.
I picked up a four-pack of Easy Lunch Containers from Amazon for $12.99. Then I used our collection of cookie cutters in fun shapes to cut the deli meat and cheese I purchased at ALDI to fit in the compartments alongside crackers and a fun treat. We would also add in some veggie, applesauce, and a drink, then BOOM — an inexpensive, yummy lunch she was excited to eat each day!
Frugal lunchtime fun!
If you love this idea, head over to Amazon to pick up a set of these vibrant lunch containers to recreate your own DIY Lunchable meals.

Love those containers. Thanks for the suggestion.
I have been using these for my twin boys for a while year and I am very happy with it. The only problem I had was the lid flap that help to open it broke right away but it still works fine.
Thanks, can you also post healthy lunch ideas please!!
Have you seen these lunch ideas here, Mary?
Thanks Jennifer… I didn’t see that one, you are the best.

Does it make the food next to it soggy? i.e. would crackers get soggy if there was something omitting moisture in the section next to it
Looks like you can line one of the compartments with a silicon baking cup. that might keep away any moisture.
You can wrap the crackers with plastic wrap and the cheese. We make this kind of bento/deli trays at work.
We have these ones, by the same company, and we love them. One less compartment because the one compartment is large enough for a while sandwich. We love them! I am still squeeze in a 4th item next to the sandwich too, like string cheese or a Nutrigrain bar, etc. So much cheaper than those Bento boxes and much better than using baggies everyday!
