There are endless ways to pack a bento lunch for your kiddo! Plus, they’re a great way to make meals fun and engaging since the compartments allow for packing multiple kinds of food. We came up with a few, fresh ideas to mix up lunches this week!

*Reminder to check with your school to be sure nut products are allowed before packing them.

Check out our easy Bento box lunch ideas:

1. The no-sandwich lunch is perfect if your traditional PB&J is played out.

Consider hard-boiled eggs as the main source of protein for your kiddo’s lunch, rather than packing a sandwich with deli meat or peanut butter. We love the idea of packing up the other bento compartments with yummy foods like yogurt, granola, and cheese puffs.

Hip Tip: Speaking of snackers, our Hip sidekick, Lina, came up with a genius idea using this under $5 snackle box! You can pack a large variety of foods, making it the perfect idea for road trips and anyone on the go!

2. A vegan lunch provides multiple different snack options for your bento lunch ideas.

This colorful lunch is a great spin on a traditional school lunch, especially if you have a kiddo like mine who loves to snack on veggies. Create a spinach salad with chickpeas, and hummus with fresh veggies to dip like broccoli, carrots, peppers, cucumbers, and more. Finish it off with some fresh fruit for dessert.

3. The snacker lunch is always a hit with the kids.

We love this lunch idea because you can fill your bentgo lunch box with tons of different ideas and we know kids love options! Our snacker bentgo lunch ideas will keep kids engaged during lunch and excited to eat.

For our lunch, we used salami, cheese slices, sweet potato crackers, grapes, popcorn, mixed nuts, cucumbers, and carrots.

To get a similar design with your salami, fold each piece over a shot glass or small fluted glass rim and continue all the way around and repeat until you have a rose shape.

4. A picky eater bento box lunch idea is still healthy but is filled with more of what they love.

Packing for a picky eater? The picky eater lunch idea will be your go-to for days you need a quick and easy lunch solution that they’re sure to eat. I packed some foods my kiddo is sure to never turn down like ham rolls, cheese, applesauce, fresh fruit, and cereal.

5. Wrap up the week with our gluten-free Bento lunch ideas.

Grab your favorite gluten-free wraps and deli meat to create a sandwich-free bentgo lunch idea! We always have corn tortillas on hand, but you could also consider using a gluten-free flour tortilla shell that’s easy to roll. You can slice them into pinwheels for an even more decorative look. To complete your lunch slide some fruit and pretzels for dipping in nut butter. Apples and sunflower butter work great if you’re packing for a peanut-free school.
