Target is saying goodbye to one of our favorite things! 😭

Target has just announced that they will no longer be offering their popular monthly Beauty Boxes.

The Target beauty boxes have wowed us for years with name brand samples from our favorite beauty companies – all with no subscription required. It’s definitely been one of our favorite deals to share, and we’re so sad to see it go.

Their site does hint that they’re making way for something new, and we can’t wait to see what they have planned!

Dang, first Costco’s sheetcakes, now Target Beauty Boxes 😭

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

      Exactly how I’m feeling, Denise!

    • shop4mybabies

costco’s new cakes are so small when i eat a whole one by myself if barely fills me with enough self loathing

  2. Sally

I used to love the boxes. Then they got chintzy, so no major loss.

    • Amanda

Thank you to everyone that mentioned the Walmart beauty box. I just signed up! Make up is definitely not something I’m strongly interested in, so these beauty boxes are an affordable/fun way for me to find new products. I feel like the target boxes used to be $5 too, and that didn’t seem so bad but for the quality they became I definitely didn’t want to pay $7.

Anyone know what size the lumify is?

    • Jackie

LUMIFY® Redness Reliever Eye Drops – .013 fl oz

    • Katy

Enough for a one time use.

      • Jennifer Lisa

That would be a lot for one time use.

They are SAMPLES…..I thought samples are for consumers to try before they purchase. I never understood these boxes that want you to pay for them, I get samples all the time from Sephora when I make a purchase.

    • lucinda11

100% agree. Why are people paying for samples that companies give out free??

    • Amy

I feel the same way. Are they charging for something they’re receiving for free? The concept is very weird to me. I received one for free with a purchase maybe 2 years ago and it was the type of things you’d get for free from pinch me plus one sheet mask.

    • Jennifer Lisa

One or two plus things are usually full size products. 🤷‍♀️

  5. Michelle B

Somehow I got signed up to the Walmart beauty box. Don’t recall when I did that! 😂 It comes quarterly and it’s only $5. there are some really fun treats in itpretty much every time.

  6. AS

Walmart beauty boxes are awesome for only 5 $ you can try good stuff.

  7. Judi

I also love Walmart beauty boxes! They’ve been so much better than the Target boxes the last year anyway.
No great loss. I hope they come up with something really good to replace these!

  8. Luv2save2

I only got the Target and Walmart boxes when they were offered for free back in the day. Once they started charging, I stopped getting them.

  9. Rn404

    Hate to see this
I like some of the boxes

  10. Suzanne

They have had some great products in their boxes at times, and sometimes full-size items.

  11. jessie

    I will miss these😔

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      ME TOO!

  12. Gege1804

I did enjoy them. My favorite was the box for kinky curly hair. I brought about 5 boxes and still have some stuff left to use. Will miss them, but looking forward to what they have in store.

    • KetaKoya87

Same here! I LOVED when they did the feature boxes targeted for certain hair types & the naturals box had some very nice products in it too! Nice to have some other than makeup 💜

  13. Lexy

The ride was nice until it wasn’t Goodbye Target Beauty Box – I did stop purchasing them but thanks to one of their beauty box i found my favorite falsies lashes

The used to have at least one full-size product, and several deluxe samples of high-end stuff (the big samples of expensive products often sell for at least $5 in the store, when you can find them) — products like Laneige night cream, Vichy, and Pixi Glow. They had indie-brands with mini-makeup palettes (lots of Sleek eyeshadow). They had green/natural brands. There were makeup brushes and sponges. They included cool little makeup bags. Some of those boxes back in the day were a jam-packed deal! Then they started going low-end, and doing more foil packets, and it just started to feel like a disappointing. The last box I got was the end for me. I rarely leave bad reviews, but I did for that box. I think they either ran out of exciting opportunities, or ran out of inspiration. I may look into Sephora Play or the Allure box instead.

    • ecroston

Sephora discontinued their monthly boxes recently too. I signed up for Allure in May and have been happy with it. The June box was awesome; I actually tried everything in it!

  15. Lori

What are they offering instead of the monthly beauty boxes? They were mostly great. I got one almost every month. Over a $20 value with a coupon. Usually. I am so disappointed. Bring it back Target! Who agrees?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Lori! They do hint that something new is in the works. We’ll keep an eye out!

  16. MarieN

Some of the boxes were really great, others were duds. Oh well. Can’t wait to see what they do next.

  17. sarahketcher-1

Where are y’all finding free testers that you speak of?? I am willing to write reviews, do whatever work or info they need or want but it’s hard to find legit sources of these. When I read reviews it always says this review was completed as a courtesy for receiving a free blah blah. How do I get to be one of these reviewers of the bla blas? Email at shumbleketcher@gmail.com

  18. Edie

I’ve been doing Ipsy for years and have never been disappointed! It’s 12.00 a month and so worth it.
