Maximize your toy savings with Target Circle!
Be sure to regularly check the Target Circle offers online and on the app (download it for iOS and Android). They often offer up to 50% off toys, board games, and more with the Circle offers. These Circle offers stack with sale prices and sometimes clearance prices so you can score big savings.
Even better, during the months of November and December, Target usually does a Daily Toy Deal and offers 50% off some of the hottest toys of the holiday season! Last year, they even made this offer available for drive-up so you could score the huge discounts and not even have to go into the store.
Price match at Target for big savings!
Know the Price Match Guarantee at Target! Target price matches a total of 25 online competitors listed here – including Amazon, SamsClub.com, and even Kohl’s. Plus, you can price match at both your local store AND online at Target.com (excluding clearance and other items).
The easiest way we’ve found to price match is to take your item to Customer Service. They’ll scan it to verify the price on the site you suggest and adjust the price to match! It’s so easy!

Plus, hang onto your receipts! If you find a lower price within 14 days after your purchase, just bring your receipt to Target and they’ll adjust your cost to the lower price!
Shop the semi-annual Target toy sales!
Twice a year around the months of January and July, Target resets their toy departments to introduce the newest toys. In January, they clear out all the holiday toys to make room for spring and summer toys. In July or August, they clear out all the summer toys to start bringing in the hottest toys for Christmas!
When these months roll around, make sure to keep an eye on endcaps or stroll the toy aisles to look for clearance tags. The discounts will start at 15% and increase about every two weeks to 30%, 50%, and eventually up to 70% off. The hottest toys, like LEGO, often don’t make it past the 30% discounts so make sure to snatch those up when you see them. The seasonal/fad toys are often the ones that make it all the way up to 70% discounts, so you can likely hold out for the bigger discounts on those!
If there is a toy you really want, you can set an alert on Brickseek to be notified of any price changes. Just enter the DPCI number in the Brickseek inventory checker. You can find the DPCI number right under the price on the store tag or under the item details online. Once you’ve pulled up the item on Brickseek, just click the two-bell icon to add a local alert.
Did you know that Target follows a markdown schedule?
Speaking of clearance, most Target stores follow a markdown schedule where they clearance select departments on specific days of the week. Thursday is the day to check your toy department!
While it may vary by store, this is the schedule that most follow:
- Monday – Electronics, Books, Kids Clothing, Baby
- Tuesday – Women’s Apparel, Grocery, Pets
- Wednesday – Men’s Apparel, Health & Beauty Items, Furniture, Lawn & Garden
- Thursday – Toys, Sporting Goods, Housewares, Shoes
- Friday – Cosmetics, Jewelry, Auto, Hardware
