I’m glad to see so many places still honoring our veterans! My husband is retired military and my son is currently active duty. It’s nice when they get a little appreciation.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Huge thanks to them both for their service! 💖

  2. Gamecockgirl

    Thank you for the list!
Thanks also to all of the fellow military families for your service!

  3. ToriSC

Rather irresponsible during a pandemic especially as a lot of veterans are seniors, a very vulnerable group. I much prefer Red Robin’s method of honoring veterans by allowing the vet to turn in the offer at anytime before the end of the month. And before the complainers start in….yes I am a veteran (Navy).

    • Sue

But Red Robin says “SORRY, THE DEADLINE HAS PASSED FOR THIS YEAR!”. It seems that you have to be signed up for an account with them and check the correct box, which both my husband and I did as vets, and it still doesn’t show.

      • ToriSC

The email said it will go on the account for redemption starting the 12th because they don’t want the over crowded nuts circus that it was last year.

    • Aleshia

That is not true. Veterans are any military member that has been honorably discharged. My husband has been a veteran since he was 27. I know a lot of veterans are older, but a lot of them are younger. I think it is great that many are doing dine in and take out and vouchers. I’d be sad another thing was let go due to covid. I’m sure restaurants will be willing to work with the most susceptible too.

    • C

I think they should make an exception this year and not require dine in only (have to go mealsas an option)

    • Debbie

Be sure to call and check with your local restaurant. Near me in WA state it is valid just on Veterans Day and has to be dine in only.

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for the helpful warning!

  4. Peaches

I am very pleased with Golden Corral’s decision to offer vouchers good until 05/31/21 instead of packing their restaurants. Texas Roadhouse and Great Clips also deserve kudos for offering vouchers.

    • Bill

Great clips has done it this way every year. Normally the future free haircut card expires on Dec 31st. So, they actually cut back on their generous future haircut coupon.

      • Peaches

Thanks. I forgot about Great Clips.

  5. Aleshia

When did home depot do away with veterans discount? They refused to give my husband his discount even though it shows on his DL that he is a disabled veteran. They told him only active duty. Veterans get their discount only 3 times a year. Memorial day, veterans day, and Independence Day. Sure enough home depot.com says the same thing.

    • queen62

Never heard of this. We use our ID at Home Depot in Ct. and Tx. all the time

    • MaryAnn

We shop at our local Home Depot in KS at least 3 times a month. We always receive the veteran’s discount.

    • ToriSC

I was just in there a week ago and got it no problem.

    • Terry

We get our veterans discount on in-store purchases only at Home Depot. We went into the store to order online from Customer Service (something not available in-store), and, to also get our discount…..but we were refused. They stated that they are not giving any veteran discounts on online orders. Unlike Lowe’s, if you are registered with MYLOWES, our veteran discount comes off in store and online.

    • acdeb

Some sale items are not discounted. Mostly full price items only.

    • NubianGoddess

I was told the same thing.

    • Jennie

Lowe’s has military discount. I prefer to shop here over Home Depot

    • Lo

Think it depends on the state or maybe store. My uncle in Missouri said his store only gives the discount 3 times a year.
I’ve used the discount all over the states.

    • Melissa J

Strange. I did a chat with Home Depot last week to ask about military discount bc my father wanted to make a purchase. The rep told me they do offer a military discount, but that it is in store only.
Lowe’s offers both online and in store, but you have to verify separately for each.

  6. Jewel

Collin, please thank your husband for his service! I will pass the list on to my active duty son!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Aww, You bet! Thanks, Jewel! 💖

  7. Thriftypuppy

Here are a few more: Houlihans is offering $10 off dine-in or pickup (use code 10OFF). 54th Street Bar and Grill is offering a free entree to veterans when you buy another entree (dine-in only).

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks! We’ll be sure to check it out!

  8. Peaches

I was a bit disappointed that Amazon didn’t make the same Veteran’s Day offer as last year but I was very grateful to have that Prime membership this year in a world of masks and social distancing.
