Alright, so I was having one of those mornings… you know, the kinda morning when you wake up to a “wet” kitchen due to the fact that one of your kiddos accidentally threw a whole bottle of Dawn soap into the dishwasher, then you spill your coffee all over the couch and put your sons ipod in the washing machine! Yes, that was my morning…. So needless to say, I definitely was looking for a way to brighten my day… and I actually found a way to do just that!
I posted this awesome video back in April, but thought I’d re-post it for all you new readers and anyone that’s had one of those mornings and needs some cheering up like I did!

Yesterday, I posted Part 1 of my 3 part video series that highlights phone calls that I made to Walgreens stores across the country. Today’s video will highlight the remainder of this phone call and will also showcase a call to the Lone Star state (my birthplace ) and to Walgreens corporate. How many of you are familiar with the following scenario?
You plan out your shopping trip to your local Walgreens store (i.e. you clip/print all your coupons, read through the extensive deal list on Hip2Save , and write down all the transactions that you are planning to make). You arrive at your Walgreens, find the items, and go to checkout… feeling very excited about all the deals you are about to score. You are then told by the cashier and/or manager one or more of the following:
*No, you cannot use a manufacturer coupon AND a Walgreens Instant Value coupon on the same item.
*No, you cannot use a Buy 1 Get 1 Free item with a Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale to get 2 items essentially free.
*No, you cannot use a coupon that is of higher value than the item you are purchasing.
You then drive to another Walgreens down the road, buy the same items, and are able to complete the SAME transactions that you were not able to do at the previous Walgreens. How frustrating is that?! I cannot stand the fact that we all receive different/conflicting information from Walgreens employees…this absolutely drives me crazy!
This craziness is what led to the video below. I was determined to find out what sort of response I would receive when the same 5 questions were asked to 4 different Walgreens store managers across the country AND the Walgreens Corporate office. So watch the video to see what I discovered…

Alright, so as most of you know, I was in Lafayette, Indiana over the weekend and had a blast! My “Follow You Monday” giveaway winner was an awesome reader of mine named Michelle! She was a fantastic sport throughout the filming process which took quite a while! Plus, she put up with me and my crazy family… and that says a lot! Thanks so much, Michelle!

I’m Back from Lafayette + Video Update!

Alright, so I am finally back from Lafayette, Indiana! I actually got my butt in gear upon arriving home and got everything unpacked as well as 2 loads of laundry done. I have a few more loads left because you know husbands and laundry… they don’t go together!
Anyway, I cannot express to you all in words just how much fun I had in Lafayette! I had some of the best laughs and enjoyed every second I was there. To all you readers who met me for dinner, thank you! It was an honor meeting each of you and the night just couldn’t have gone any better.
I wish I could have done more updates like I did in Tampa… but, well, it’s just really hard to fit in the time to edit the videos and upload them, so I pretty much put doing that on the back-burner. However, I do have the video ready for you now. Keep in mind this video was filmed on Friday and Saturday, but I still thought some of you may enjoy seeing it.

I just got back from an AMAZING dinner here in Lafayette, Indiana, with 6 awesome Hip2Save readers and their guests. Unlike last night, we had a very tasty meal at the Red Seven Bar & Grill filled with great conversation, tons of laughs, and lots of memories! I got to meet the “husband of the year,” aka Brandon; I loved hearing about everyone’s coupon triumphs and failures and learning about your personal lives. One of the best parts of the evening was sharing this experience with my family…I was lucky enough to be joined by my wonderful grandma (“Ma”), my dad, and my sis…we are all from different parts of the country, so it was so fun to be together the last few days! Hope you enjoy all the pictures! I am off to bed as I will be waking up bright and early to head to Meijer with Michelle, the Follow You Monday winner, to snag lots of deals (stay tuned for that video this Monday!).
