I may start trying to put together more deal scenarios for you all on a weekly basis. I’d love to hear if you find this helpful. Also, I am not the best at putting together these scenarios, so if you have any to share, please feel free to do so in the comments! Thanks! 🙂
My store won’t let me do multiple transactions – at all. Even if they are for different RRs…. So I have to try to buy everything at once and hope I have enough RRs from the previous week to pay for it and then get more back.
Well, I am not necessarily saying that you have to do all these transactions in one Walgreens trip. You could do one transaction on one day, then come back on another day to do the next and so on. Or if you have a few Walgreens locations nearby, you could just stop in a couple stores to roll your RRs.
Happy Shopping! 🙂
That’s silly of the store. I can understand not allowing many separate transactions that would hold up the line, but two or three max is not excessive. Have you spoken to a manager at the store? I would try that first and then I would throw it into full nuisance mode. Cash out, carry your items to the car and come right back in. If for no other reason than to make a point.
Wow! When you spell it out like this, it seems so simple! THANKS COLLIN! You do amazing work! Hip2save rocks my world!!
Thanks, Michelle! I appreciate that! 😀
Wow!! Thanks Collin! My store has no problem letting me do multiple transactions. I usually try to keep all of my RR deals in the first order (unless I am purchasing more than one like item) and then rolling them all onto the last order. But no matter how maticulous I am, I always end up paying more than I expected. I do usually save about 80%, so I guess I shouldn’t complain. The store I usually go to was out of ALOT of items featured in last weeks deals and didn’t even have some of them (splenda 80 ct., chinet, kids aquafresh not on sale) so this week I am going to travel a little further and try a newer Wags. Wish me luck!!
I like it that you gave step by step…makes it so much easier. Thank you.
Susan
Collin, This is awesome! Thank you!!! This so helpful even for those of us who aren’t newbies!
Thanks so much for posting the deal scenarios. It really helps me so much!
LOVE this!! This is a SUPER time saver for me (takes a lot of time on your part, but we are all VERY thankful!) I can’t wait to see more! 😀 😀 😀
Thank you for this. It is very helpful to see it laid out like this.
When you buy 1 get 1 free, can you use 2 coupons or just 1? If you use 2 how does that work? I’ve seen some couponers say you can use 2 but I don’t understand if you are getting it for free.
You can use 2 coupons. It’s even in their coupon policy. 🙂
Awesome…..You are the best!!!!
This is awesome. Thanks! PLUS if you have RR’s from previous purchases, you could do this and pay next to nothing out of pocket. 🙂
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this addition!! I also hope to see others share their scenarios and I hope to share mine!! How fun!
collins,
the $2/1 Spenda with Fiber coupon this coupon say for granulated products ….. can i use to buy Splenda with Fiber 80 ct boxes $2.99 because it dont say granulated??
thanks for all the work. My Walgreen’s won’t let me combine a manufactor coupon with a coupon from the monthly booklet because they say the coupons in the book are manufactor coupons also
You should print their coupon policy and bring it in to show them. The policy says they can.
Hi, I had the same problem last week. I took the ad from last week with the scott naturals paper towel rolls. It said $5.00 – the $1.00 coupon booklit coupon. Then it said in red “coupons in most sunday newspapers.” That proves that you can use both. I kept the add just incase, but I had no problems. Hope that helped 🙂
This is AWESOME! I am new.. and have been wanting to start couponing for some time now. I just don’t know where to start!
Thank you sooo much! This is very helpful!
This is very helpful! I seem to think RR are a good idea until they expire and I haven’t used them yet. Thanks for laying it out like this, it makes it easier to see how these deals could actually work.
I was excited to try this, and sat down to work it all out and realized I don’t have the regional coupons that you are talking about in the first transaction, so I guess this won’t work for me. Bummer
You could always swap those items out with a different Register Reward deal. 🙂
This is very helpful. I’m new and looking forward to seeing the future walgreen deals. Do you have to have a card or something to get register rewards? Oh and is there a place on your website where you have a list of acronyms? I’m not sure what a lot of the abbreviations mean ie SS, RP etc. FYI I tried to click on the April Coupon Booklet link in the above post and it didn’t work for me. Not sure if it is just me or everyone. Thanks so much!
Hi Dayna!
No you do not need to have any sort of rewards card to earn Register Rewards. You can find a list of the Coupon Jargon used on Hip2Save by going here:
https://hip2save.com/couponnewbie
Hope this helps!
Thank you! So helpful! Can you use Use 3 $3/1 Splenda Sweetener product coupons?
yes, but the 3rd coupon will beep. If you have a good cashier, they will know to adj it down. I plan on using 2 $1 RRs and getting a filler if I get a cashier that won’t let me use the 3rd one.
I love this!! Thank you so much Collin, this is so helpful to me!!
How do you know ahead of time what the sales ads or offers are going to be?
I have learned so much from you already. I would love to see these types of deals weekly.
You can sign up on Walgreens website to get their preview of the upcoming ad emailed to you. I usually receive my email on Friday before it comes out. Hope that helps!
So helpful! Much appreciated.
Thank you so much for all your help! I am a coupon newbee and I am learning so much from
your site. I even have gotten a few friends involved. I am addicted and love to save money!! Dawn
I love how you do the deal scenarios. Keep them coming! I get so flustered trying to figure out good deal scenarios myself so thank you for these! Saves me time and frustration!
Thanks for the Tilex coupon link! 🙂
This is extremely helpful!! Thank you so much for all your time and effort that you put into this to help us out! You are amazing!!
It is very helpful and I would love to see more!
I love the deal scenarios you post. It’s so helpful.
I love the scenerios!! Based on what I am seeing though is you are using RR it appears like you will need filler items…not enough products for coupons used! Other than that keep it up I love it!!!
Thanks so much for the step by step transactions. I can go in with a list of items to buy but go into panic mode about the best order to buy in to get the most bang for my buck. This is definitely an aspect of the site you should keep up….LOVE IT!!!!
I second Bridget! That’s exactly what I have to say! Love the scenarios Collin!
Yes, love this Collin! It is great to at least have a starting point of shopping scenarios, then we can add or substitute things from each transaction, depending on what coupons we have, what products may be out of stock, etc… Thanks so much for all your hard work, it is much appreciated!! 🙂
I love the idea of putting together deal scenarios. Its is so helpful for newbies and for those that have been at this for a while but need some reminding. Thank you so much for all YOU do.
This is great, Collin! I tend to shy away from most of the deals at walgreens just because I always mess up my OOP with their RR system; have to buy a filler item, can’t use P&G RRs on P&G items without losing your next RR, etc. This breaks it down so nicely! Thank you. 🙂
Yes this is so helpful!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!! WOULD LOVE IT EVERY WEEK!!!! It is so helpful and especially at places such as Walgreens and CVS where for some of us (me in particular…haha) I get very confused!!!! So this is so awesome and I am just so thrilled!! Thanks so much!!! And love the site I check it like a thousand times a day!!!! Thanks so much!!!!
Oh my gosh, thank you sooooo much for the deals!!!
Your such a blessing to soooo many of us!!
oh they do not like me. tried to get them to transaction 3 on a coupon and theydid not likeit. had to void the bill in order to not get the multiple discount. even thought i had enough coupons. they held me to one vs. multiple.
I LOVE the deal scenarios, for a newbie it’s really helping me get the hang of couponing. I’d love to see deal on a weekly basis!
LOVE IT! Thanks Collin!
Can anyone tell me if there is something in their coupon policy that prohibits earning RR when you use a coupon on the item that would earn it?
There is NOTHING in their policy that says they won’t allow it. In fact, I have seen many items in their ads that are supposed to generate a register reward that have a little red box next to them that says “coupon savings in most Sunday papers.”
I love this!! Thank you for posting! I hope to see more of these!
I am a graduating college student and I wanted to learn how to coupon but have no clue how. From all of the sites I have been to so far, I think that you have the best site for newbies. Thank you for making scenarios. Because without them, I wouldn’t know how to go about purchasing products in the best manner.
Thanks, Collin! Having shopping scenarios (especially at Wags) makes it so much easier for me!! It takes me forever to try to figure out the best order to purchase things for the lowest OOP. 🙂 Happy Easter Eve!
Great idea. I just started couponing last Sunday and have BOXES of things I got for little or nothing this past week.. Really helps to look on the site for some advertising that I may miss in the stores.. Will definitely be heading to Walgreens first thing tomorrow. I also hit the recycle bins yesterday and got TONS of coupons. Cant believe I used to be one of the ones using those bins for my coupons!!!
Thanks! Only problem is my stores are already out of Splenda….and it isn’t even Sunday yet. 🙁
This is great! I just started doing this on my blog last month and got a lot of good responses from it. It’s very helpfull especially for newbies!
Thank you Collin! This is so helpful, I still have a lot to learn, and this will be a great help 🙂
Thank you for all your work. This will save me lots of time!
collin, thanks so much for all this, you have no idea how much your scenarios help. i am new to walgreens and you are making it so much easier 🙂
I did the Splenda deal last week – couldn’t find them at my local store, but was in another part of town and picked them up there. Weird thing is they weren’t with the regular Splenda (I got the fiber added), they were in the seasonal aisle. Sometimes wandering around the store helps! =)
Also – a tip I have for Register Rewards, when I leave the store before I file away my RR into my coupon sorter I either circle the manufacturer’s name or write it below the “thank you” line so I don’t mix-up using the right RR for my transactions. (The manufacturer is listed on the far right above the barcode). That way I can use my 4RR from Splenda on the Luster White, and the 4RR from the Luster White on another Splenda (rinse and repeat!). If you use a RR on the same item you don’t get the RR again.
Wow, ur amazing!!!! I am printing this out and taking it with me. I could never figure all that out on my own 🙂
