Okay, this is getting on my nerves. I keep seeing these great deals people are getting but I am a long time Starbucks person (get one everyday) and I am not getting these emails… I think it is time to contact Starbucks directly. So Jealous! Good luck everyone.
Honestly, I can tell you that it is because you use your card alot. They are trying to get people to start using their rewards system so they give these promos to people who don’t use their card. So, this is how you get around it. 1. You have a card that you use all the time to get your free stars. 2. Have another account under your husband’s name or something and register with a card you never use. You will start getting deals under the card that you don’t use. My card is a gold card and my husband has zero stars on his.
What my husband does is starts a transaction with his card so he can use the promos and then pays for the transaction with my card. With this deal though, we will just use his card and get the stars on his card. Right now we have this promo and a buy one get one free frap on his card.
I’m there almost daily and got 5 stars = $5 / 8 stars = $10 with a free star code to get me started. I’m with Theresa – more random than some formula to get infrequent users to use their cards more often. I get discount codes once or twice a week!
I use my card for my daily cup also and I got the dash this time (not the last one though) I think it must just be random

The reason to that is because you’re a loyal customer. They know you’ll purchase from them regardless of promos. They’re have promos like this to bring back customers who don’t purchase as often. This way they can bring back old customers and still keep the new ones.
For people who want to receive emails with offer :
The trick is you need to click on Print for any offer they send out to you. That way they know you are active user. If you don’t click print the system will not generate a ticket to send more.
I work in retail industry. It costs big companies money to send email 0.001 / email sent. Multiply that by couple millions of rewards member then you know that it actually cost a lot to send out emails so they need to make sure that these emails are getting used and received. Good luck!

Hi. i am just wondering where it would state it in your acct. ? I can never seem to find the “offers” section after I log in.
Mine did the same thing…..didn’t get the email (or either I deleted it) but when I logged in online it popped up! Mine is also 4 stars $5 and 6 stars $10.
I never get them either and Starbucks is my one really big splurge for me especially during the holidays. Very sad.

I don’t get them either, but I found out that it’s because of how your account is set up online. When you sign in go to the top where it says hello “your name”. Click on that and then click on “my profile”. It will take you to your profile management page. Click on contact info and scroll down the page and you have to click the box that says to sign you up for email newsletters and promotions. They do this promotion regularly and you should start getting coupons too.
I have to earn 10 stars for a $5 GC and 16 stars for the $10! I really wish I knew how they decided who gets what offer…
I got the same deal. From what I’ve read from people who have actually contacted Starbucks about this, it’s “random.” I personally don’t think it’s random at all! I’m a gold card member and I rarely get the good deals, and it seems like a lot of other gold card members have had similar experiences. Like Tanya mentioned above, I’m sure they’re running these promotions to try and get more people to start using their rewards program – these deals don’t appear to be for the daily Starbucks-goers!
Agree, gold card member here, just went there today. Don’t care for it still though and how it’s kind of arbitrary, sends the wrong message to some of us who are very loyal. I am VERY fair minded.
Usually buy gift cards for all my son’s teachers (2 teachers and 5 specials teachers) – I do this several times a year including Christmas.
No more buying these cards for them, going to shop elsewhere and not give out the S’bucks because I’m really irked by this…oh, I guess I am being random though… (wink)
It’s true. I have 2 accounts so I watch how the deals come in.. one is a gold member account and I did not get the star dash offer with that one. My other account is a “welcome member” and I got the star dash offer AND always get really good discounts but I don’t use it since my other account is gold. very unfair

Wish I had been your son’s teacher in the past. You are awesome. Teaching is also awesome, but the holidays are really crazy at school. It feels super to be appreciated and my one cup on Sunday is a big splurge for me.

My vote is for random and regional too. I have a gold card and a backup card that I’ve used once over several years — both got the $5/4 stars and $10/6 stars offer. The unused card used to receive better offers like the free tall drink from a while back, but now they both get the exact same deals, such as the 50% off an espresso beverage.
There was also a sweepstakes in mine to enter for free coffee for a year

Register a card and you earn one per transaction. Simple as that.

I don’t think it honestly matters how often a card is used. We have 3 cards (myself, daughter,husband). We got 10 for $5 stars for $5, 5 for $5 & 8 for $10 and my husband got 4 for $5. There’s no logical process to it! Lol plus each time you use ur card you get a star regardless of what you buy.

You can always reload or add another card in. I often have a zero balance, still get the offers though. And then periodically buy a gift card at Safeway or Fred Meyer(for fuel points) and add it in.

I also got the 10 for 5 and 16 for 10. I agree there is no logic for this.. Been a gold member for a couple years, after they stop doing the free soy milk I’ve stop going as much. But at least if your store the holiday drink buy 5 get 1 free, you can combine this too.

Not as good as 4 and 7 stars, but I will take it either way! 🙂 I always pay for the person behind me in the drive thru line. You never know if that person is having a bad day, a simple cup of coffee and a kind gesture can make someone’s day. 🙂

The eGifts are usually a code that you can print and use at Starbucks, or you can enter them online to add them to any of your Starbucks cards. At least that’s how mine have worked in the past. 🙂

Another oddity for you. I signed up for the Starbucks holiday texts as well and I get occasional offers that way in addition to emails. I did not receive an email for the Holiday Dash, but I just received a text yesterday inviting me to join. The link, however, just takes me to my regular Starbucks account, where I cannot find anything about joining the Dash. Anyone else have this experience or any advice?
I got the same text with the same link problem so I just got off the phone with Starbucks this AM. They are aware there is a problem with their text version of this promo. She said it was the first time they’ve done this type of promo via text. She suggested to keep trying the link from time to time to see if it’s been fixed (like tonight, then in AM). She also noted on my account that I’ve been trying so that by the end of the promo, Dec. 3, they can make sure all my Stars are accounted for. She said there were 4 different versions of this promo so us text people won’t know which one we got til they finally get the link working. Hope this helps Jennifer!

It seems that most people got the 4/7 or 5/8 version of the reward. I’ve been a gold card member for years and I literally go to Starbucks everyday if not twice or more a day. Last time I reloaded my card for $500 (because it wouldn’t let my balance go over $500). All being said, guess what my offer is? 10 stars for $5 and 16 for $10!!! Isn’t this ridiculous? It’s not because this is “impossible” for me to accomplish. It’s simply because I got the worst offer for being such a loyal customer. And I don’t know if you guys remember the Fall Stardash a few months ago. I was also offered the worst (10 for $5 and 20 for $10 if I remember it correctly) So I called in Starbucks customer service and let out my all complaints about the unfairness. The rep was a very nice lady and she said this promotion is customer-specific and is kinda random. There’s no way for her to give me the best offer. However, she put 5 extra stars in my account and also gave me a free reward. How nice was that?
