New Shopping Video: Kmart Double Coupons
It’s time for another video in my “Weekly Deal Shopping” series!

This week only, March 16th through the 22nd, Shop Your Way Rewards Members get double manufacturer coupons up to a $2 value with the purchase of $25 or more (calculated before coupons) in grocery and drugstore merchandise at Kmart. Limit 5 coupons per customer per day. Limit 4 purchases of the same item. Excludes buy 1 get 1 FREE offers, Kmart Savings Coupons and store coupons.
Note that if the double coupon value exceeds the value of the item, the double value will automatically be reduced down to the cost of the item (so you won’t get overage, but you will get the item free).
Be sure to closely monitor the checkout screen as your coupons are being scanned. My sister and I both had issues with certain coupons not doubling and beeping. And yes, we were following the double coupon “rules” and had over $25 prior to coupons etc. However, we were very lucky to have a patient cashier and manager who helped to basically push the coupons through since we did have the correct items.

My issue recently has been with the coupons you load onto your SYWR card from the website. It won’t take the deduction off the total, instead they give you that amount in cash. So confusing, not sure if this is just at my store and if something is wrong with their system or what. :\
that happen to me once. The cashier was confused on why it was giving cash back and so was I so she called the manager and the manager knew it was from a coupon but didn’t know why it did cash back instead of deducting.
Wow – great shopping girls! I’m excited to know that Kmart will be doubling coupons!! NO stores in my town double coupons – NONE! Until now – Yay!

Anytime I ever went to Kmart, it seemed like there were issues. I didn’t shed any tears when they closed the three stores in my area. I’m willing to fight for what I am owed, but Kmart was one of the very few stores that I felt wasn’t worth the time.

Me, too! I haven’t been in over a year. The last time I went the girl would not let me use 3 coupons on 3 bottles of shampoo. I had other items. I said okay and removed a bottle and she then she told me I could only use 1 coupon. What she was explains made no sense and she held up the line so long that I just paid a left. So embarrassing!!!
They do that here at one of the foodlions. Their manager said they have the right to say how many they take. Fine then y’all won’t get our money. ESP for being rude about it.
I don’t find them worth the grief either. They can advertise anything but when you go to the store you find so many complications it just is not worth it. Same thing with Dollar General. I quit going there to coupon and only go if I have a single thing to purchase for convenience sake. Last time I was in there the cashier was telling the other cashier how a women wanted something for free with her coupons. I could not help myself and told them both the customer was accurate (I too seen it on Hip2Save but skipped it as I know how they are). I also told them I quit shopping the store because most employees are not trained on their jobs and instead act like the customer is trying to pull something off. What I don’t get is why these stores even bother to promote coupons as they alienate more customers than if they just did not offer it.
I thought kmart stopped doubling? I did not renew my membership because I read that somewhere.

I’m curious what you mean by “renew my membership”? Shop Your Way Rewards doesn’t require you to renew. Once you have a card, you have a membership.
MAX is a paid membership for free shipping, not sure if Sondra is referring to that, but is my guess.

Ok I have a question. When I log in to my shop your way rewards and look at my Kmart coupon to load to my card am I able to use a manufacturers coupon with them? If so I have a $2 off tampax pearl (kmart) then a $2 manufacturer which would double there for free?

I had the option to load to card. If you don’t, I’d just print it. Hopefully it’ll work 🙂
The $2.00 off 2 coupons will only double up to the price of one item.So if the sale is 2 for $5.00,the coupon will only double up to $2.50 which is the price of one item.

Can you become a member in the store?
Yes, you can. Just go to the customer service desk.
If I go to Kmart, I now know to allow at least 30 minutes extra just for checking out. The registers always beep and I also have a (very nice) cashier who just stares blindly at the screen. That being said, it is definitely my go-to place for cheap toilet paper and paper towels – gotta take the good with the bad 😉
Same here, I already know a couple of cashiers who are SUPER friendly, but even when they are trying to help me, their system is a NIGHTMARE! It never goes smoothly 🙁 But I have got great deals, like 90% off their Halloween costumes back in November! 🙂
My Kmart will not allow two coupons for one item even if one of them is a store coupon which is why I like Target better. Also, almost every time I go to Kmart the price rings up higher than shelf or sale price and they have really old registers
so I can’t see what rings up unless I ask them. I really think it’s a racket they have going! Tempted by the double coupons but thinking it’s just not worth the hassle 🙁
Their registers don’t work to double coupons off of more than one item. It sees the single price and will only double up to that value. It is extremely difficult to circumvent their system on this, even for managers. I just DON’T even TRY to double coupons that are good on multiple items.
Came to same conclusion on the doubling of multi item coupon, I don’t bother with them! I am going to try to double coupon on a BOGO 50% off sale, the coupons are $2/1 and the single item price is $3.39, I am expecting one to double to the full value of the selling price and the other to double for the 50% price, if they double at all….
I looked at my Kmarts ad online and it doesn’t say anything about doubling this week? Do you have a list of participating locations? Thanks! Loved the video!
Hmmm… I am not sure about a list of participating. However, the doubling event was listed on the front page of my weekly ad. I would suggest calling your local store and asking about coupons doubling this week.

Kathy0303, you have to login into your kmart.com account, then go to “weekly and local ads” at the top, you need to enter your zip code if its not set up already. Click on the banner that says ” see your newspaper insert and choose this weeks dates “3/16-3/22”, then on the left, you will see the read ad announcing the double coupons. Some regions do NOT have a minimum purchase, my region 01075 does have a minimum $25 dollar purchase. I hope this helps.

As long as your total before coupons is $25 then the 5 coupons will double
I went this morning, and here’s my breakdown:
2 garnier fructis stylers $3.33 each – $2 coupon off each doubled = free
10 oz suave Moroccan lotion $3.14 – $1.50 coupon doubled = $.14
36 ct box of Tampax Pearl tampons $6.99 – $2 coupon doubled (got $2 cash back after for SYWR coupon) = $.99
$3.99 mitchum deodorant – $2 coupon doubled = free
b1g1 doritos @ $4.29 for 2
$1 apple juice
Total was $9.18, then got $2.12 back for SYWR coupon, so my total was $7.06. 🙂

awesome video as always! I went to walmart yesterday and two of my coupons did not scan as well. the cashier told me that they have a new policy stating that if coupons don’t scan they won’t accept it. does anyone know if that is true?
My walmart is doing this also. They used to input them manually if they would not scan but now if they do not scan they will not take them. I do not usually have problems with newspaper coupons but a lot of the time my pintables will not scan or will only scan with the gun. My walmart always gets rude with me when I ask them to try and use the scan gun. Another problem I have is we receive food stamps due to a low income and I’m a stay at home mom. If you want to use coupons and pay with your food stamps you now have to have a manager authorize your purchase before you check out. The cashiers always get rude and look at me like a low life when I do this. My husband has a good job but does not make a lot so we supplement with food stamps and coupons. I hate the hassle and being treated like scum so I refuse to go to walmart anymore unless I have a newspaper coupon for nonfood items. Target, CVS, Walgreens, and our local Homeland which doubles coupons up to $1.00 everyday are so much easier to deal with. I will never understand why people treat you like a cheapskate trying to cheat the system when all we are doing is trying to save some money in this economy where everything is so expensive.

I do NOT shop at Wal-Mart. I think the store is messy, there is no parking, and the lines in the store are always long. If Wal-Mart miss treats its customers then they dont need the business. Keep couponing.

No. It will take off $3.00. The value of the coupon must be $2.00 or less.

Collin, Sunday a shift manager had to manually punch in all my coupons at the double value, Monday they all worked fine except for sale items I found out later didn’t ring up correctly. Will try back again on Thursday.
Did the manager give you a hard time about manually entering them? I don’t think my kmart will do this for me
Went to Kmart on Sunday. I was able to use both Kmart and manufacturers coupons. We are in a region where it’s unlimited double coupons but you must have $25 worth of stuff- so easy. We ended up getting $120 worth of stuff and had $10 overage from coupons they paid us $10 cash and I got 10,000 shopyourwaypoints. We were at checkout for close to 45 minutes but it was so worth it. I just started back to shopping at Kmart and have already gotten so many awesome deals and we have super nice cashiers and management at both kmarts by us. After our transaction, our cashier wanted to learn how to coupon. Going back for round 2 tonight!
I’m about to go to kmart tonight to try this out but I have a feeling we will run into some trouble because kmart can never seem to deal well with coupons! When I called the CS line to ask about this promotion the rep had absolutely no idea that locations were doubling coupons. Ps I got that jacket from the deal you posted and I love it! Thanks!

Yay! Went smoother than I thought it would. Only one coupon had to be put in manually and they had no problem making sure that it doubled. I got the free tampax, two bottles of Vidal Sassoon shampoo for free, Yes To facial wipes for 1.99, and maybelline powder for $6(which is not a great deal so I might return that)

OMG… that is the ordeal i went through today. As i was checking out the cashier had no idea. No one knew what was going on and even the managers walked away stating that if the computer didn’t do it there was nothing they could do. it was HORRIBLE… they voided my order twice and in the end I just apologized and got my coupons back, walking away empty handed.. 🙁 it was dreadful
Just a little FYI…if you’re a shop your way rewards member, there’s Kmart coupons you can add to your acct. that you can stack with manufacturer coupons. A few I took notice to are as follows, $2 off Tampax, $1.50 off 2 speed stick GEAR deodorant, $2 off L’Oreal Advanced family size shampoo or conditioner. Please note, these store coupons only apply to regular price items.
Store coupons ring up fine on price drop items also! Verified on the Tampax $2/1 store coupon, used it on price drop Tampax that were $3.94 and used MQ $2/1 was not expecting it to double as it was 6th coupon…all scanned fine.
Hey Collin! Def. feel your frustration. Experienced issues @ Whole Foods and Safeway with coupons.com coupons. They have to manually deduct the coupon. I was told since coupons.com updated their coupons w/barcode… the store has to update their system? Therefore it beeps.

Ha, perfect timing for this video. I’ve been working hard for this weeks double coupon event, and in my area, it’s spend $25 and get unlimited double coupons! My Kmart does not want to take printable coupons. So, I called, emailed and went to the Facebook page where I finally got an answer that they DO accept printables!! 🙂 If you go to Kmarts Facebook you can see where others are having problems with Kmart also. This shopping trip is going to be amazing.

I have $1 off Kellogs Brand Cereal (which 2 or more are currently on sale for $1.99) I Could of got them FREE after the double coupon promo! I shall go tomorrow Thanks Collin! I am trying to add the tampax to my card. I click load to my account and its says that the coupon loaded successfully. But when I click on the my coupons tab on the top, its not there as loaded. I’ve done this probably 5 times and its not sticking. Can anyone help me?
I had the same issues at kmart. I purchased the jergins soap and no points. The manager put $1.00 on a gc for me to make up for it.
Also it was explained to me that if you are using a coupon off multiple items it will not double to the amount of the coupon.
For example I purchased two bottles of lysol. And used a $2/2 coupon. They were priced at $2.50 each.
I was expecting my coupon to double to four dollars off, but instead it only took off .50 Because the coupon has to “attach” to an item. And it can’t take off more than that item costs. So my $2 q plus the double = $2.50. So not the deal I was hoping for.
So I would advise that you only use coupons that are off one item. It’s a better deal that way. Also there is a $2.00 off tampax store coupon available on the shop your way app. So you can purchase the large 36 ct box for $6.99 – $2.00 kmart store q. -$2.00 mq, -$2.00 double. So only .99 for the box! plus you can boost your total to $25.00 easier that way.

it’s only a limit of 5 “double” coupons. After five they will just be the face value of the coupon.
The ad that was in my sunday paper says nothing about a $25 purchase to get the double coupons. It say members get double manufacturer coupons up to $2…limit of 5 coupons per day.

I was extremely lucky last Sunday. My mom and I were hungry, so she headed over to the Little Ceaser’s located inside Kmart and we got free pizza because we had 5000 ($5.00) surprise points. Yay! My mom found a shirt on clearance for $9 and somehow, we received 7000 (7,000) surprise points! The shirt ended up being around $2. So, we basically got $12 for free from Kmart! 🙂
Came back from my store and first time it went well with my coupons except for 1 but the cashier got the manager and she put it thru. Spend $8.xx using 2.31 syw pts. Also they had a lot of kids pijamas for 5.09, found a 2 piece for that amount for my son.

Yea my first trip was insane. But yea the info too says the double can’t exceed the price of the item :/ I’ve spent so long in there trying tower sure I wasn’t going to have issues. Got to the register and none of the cashiers had any idea wtf was going on. Had to school them on both my trips so far :/
I have found that print out coupons with only the new bar code NEVER work at Kmart. If the print out has the old barcode on it also, then it works fine. Also, newspaper coupons with only the new barcode work fine…how weird is that?? Never fails. So when I print a good coupon and it only has the new barcode, I don’t even bother going to Kmart anymore.
No Kmart closer than about 30 miles one way for me. They have closed several stores and to drive that far even for double coupons would defeat the purpose of saving with gas at $3.60 a gallon right now in Ohio where I live. Glad you were back this week with a new video though.
So, here’s my question…can you use a K-Mart e-coupon AND a doubled manufacturer coupon….they have them for the Tampax, Secret Clinical, and lots of Suave items…Would I make items free, or would only one or the other be taken off?
The Tampax SQ and MQ both worked out beautifully together to many some $$ towards my other purchases, also the Gear Speed $2 MQ with the $1.50/2 SQ, buying two of each item, one Vidal Sassoon Styler, $3.94, and Benadryl, $5.49 $1mq,only the $2 coupons doubled to the retail price of the item, but I only paid $1.55 for all items, I was shopping with the $25 minimum purchase and limited to 5 double coupons.
I have a coupon for a free snickers bar (up to $1.29) and a free Yoplait yogurt. Can I include this in the $25 scenario and still get to use 5 coupons to double?
You can use as many coupons as you want, but only the first 5 will double. Give your 5 highest value ones first, then do the free item coupons and you should be good to go! 🙂
