If you’re a fan of pumpkin spice desserts, this idea should definitely be on your must-make list! This fluffy, creamy, and perfectly sweet dip makes a delicious snack and/or dessert to share with friends and family. If you are trying to cut sugar, consider opting for sugar-free pudding, light whipped topping, and apples for dipping.

I spotted this cute fresh pumpkin at my local grocery store that had a little “hello fall” decal on the front and knew it would make a cute serving bowl for this dip.  Feel free to just use a bowl instead though.

Tips for making this 3-Ingredient pumpkin pie dip recipe:

  • Note that the sugar-free version comes in a 1 oz. size while the regular vanilla instant pudding is in a 3.4 oz. box. They are actually the same 4-serving size, but the sugar-free powder is just lighter than regular — use them interchangeably!
  • Adding pumpkin pie spice makes this dip taste even more delish! If you don’t have any on hand, try putting together an easy DIY Pumpkin Spice Blend of your own. Trust me, you’ll be using it all season long!
  • Make walking pumpkin pie packets! Spoon some of this mixture into snack-sized bags of Nilla wafers for individualized desserts! Speaking of walking desserts, be sure to try this one!
  • This dessert will last in the fridge for a few days covered in a container.

3 ingredients pumpkin dip

This pumpkin pie dip recipe is such a yummy treat that WILL NOT disappoint!

This is such a fun recipe to serve at parties – especially when you’re ready for fall and don’t want to spend the time and energy making a homemade pie!

If you’re craving something pumpkin, this will do the trick! No matter how you serve it up, this pumpkin dip is sure to be a favorite.

Check out what my teammate Emily has to say about this easy recipe:

pumpkin pie dip on table with cookies and pumpkins

“So easy and always a hit at fall parties! I especially love the presentation when it’s served in a hollowed-out pumpkin as a dish. A lot of our family is gluten-free, so we’ll add apples and GF pretzels as other dipping options. You really can’t go wrong no matter what you serve up with it!”

I made this the other day after my daughter and I tried and loved a very similar version from our grocer’s deli. At $5 a pound, though we’d better make our own, and it’s just as delicious!

  2. amber

Do you use the allready sweeten punkin in the can are just regular punkin

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

No just the unsweetened pumpkin purée

  3. NV

Thanks for posting, Collin!! Having a party next week and EASY is key! 🙂 (Picture appears to be the 100% pumpkin vs the pumpkin pie filling which is sweetened. I would imagine the cool whip and pudding sweeten it up plenty).

  4. Cassandra

This looks delicious! I will be trying this next weekend. ☺️

  5. Jessica

I just made this last weekend!!! Delicious!!!!

As a new diabetic, I want to find something tasty for the holidays. Your suggestion sounds great. Wonder how many calories? Serving size? But I am looking forward to trying this.

I make it sugar free, fat free all the time. It’s still delicious! Great for diabetics.

    • Jessica

We made it with sugar free pudding and cool whip too. But we used Swerve to sweeten it some.

  7. Stefanie

I made this but added some softened cream cheese too and blended it up… soooo good!

  8. Linda

I wonder if this would be good with chocolate pudding.

I went to a party this weekend and the recipe was similar. Canned pumpkin, cool whip, vanilla yogurt and cinnamon. Follow the funfetti dip recipe for measurements (substitute the cake mix with canned pumpkin) but just add cinammon

  14. Jennifer

FYI, that pumpkin roll of Lina’s that you see in the picture from last year is also wonderful.

    • Lina (Hip's Modern Martha)

      Oh thanks Jennifer!

  15. Jessica

Could you use butterscotch pudding? What’s your thoughts before I ruin a good thing?

This could be made with a light version for weight watchers ?

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes perhaps sugar free pudding and cool whip light? Thanks!

  20. Pati

Now that they’ve come out with a pumpkin spice pudding mix in recent years, do you think that would make it too pumpkin-y if I used it?!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes, I think that’d be yum, and maybe leave out any additional pumpkin spice seasoning, or taste it first before adding.

  21. Ashton

How many does this serve? I am wanting to make this for a fall party I am going to but there will be quite a few people there so I want to make sure I have enough.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I would say about six, maybe 8? It’s a nice sized bowl of dip.

  22. Jimmie

How long does it stay good for after refrigerate

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Should be good in the fridge covered for a couple days 👍

  23. Jenn

If I don’t have a mixer handy will it be okay to just stir it with a whisk?

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes, I’m sure that’d work fine as well. Thanks!

  24. Nell

We’ve been making this for years—sooooo good!

    • Nell

      …especially with green apple slices!

      • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

  26. Lisa

I hate Pumpkin. I’ve hated it all 43 years of my life. Last year my six year old neighbor made this for Thanksgiving and told me “you won’t know if you like it or not unless you try it”. Kid made a good point and I couldn’t argue. I tried it and love it! Still hate everything else pumpkin, but love this. You can really tastes the pudding in it.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh that’s good to know Lisa- thanks!

  27. Jen

OMG!!!! I will not be making mini pumpkin pies anymore…this dip hits the mark…what a super easy delicious way to enjoy pumpkin!!! THANK YOU!!!🎃

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh yay! I’m so glad you’re enjoying this! YUM!

  28. Elle

I used ginger snaps;) absolutely perfect!
    Thanks!

  29. Sandra

Can this be frozen & if so, thawing process?

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

I would think so since whipped topping freezes so well. Just let it thaw in the fridge for a bit to soften beforehand.

  30. Food Eater

Use the canned pumpkin pie mix and combined with plain yogurt. 50/50.

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

That sounds yummy too! Thanks for sharing! 🧡🎃
