I realized I had this the day after I spent hundreds on gifts on Amazon. Arg. 🙂

  2. Kristi

Please note; you CAN use it to add a gift card to your account. Go into your account and click add balance to gift card. Received my email that I had used my offer within seconds! Easy! $60 g/c for $45 score!

Seems like I only get offers from stores I’ve never even heard of…lol!

Found on Delta Amex. Really need to check the Amex card offers quite often now as they are really cranking up for holiday shopping now. Saw $10 off $30 for Regal Cinemas. Many of these offers work on gift card purchases in store. Had good success with Whole Foods gift cards that earn the statement credits, then I use them to pick up chicken pot pies and Morning Glory muffins for fast meals on busy mornings or dinner in the evening throughout the cold weather season. And bought many gift cards from Dollar General when they offer $5 Amex statement credits for purchase of $25 or more. Buy GCs for Netflix, Hulu, iTunes, or restaurant and fast food chains, then pair those up with coupons too. Best deal we ever scored was back in the summer when we would buy $100 in gift cards from Target (it was good for Walmart too but we found the selection lacking and there was some hassle factor there) for $30 statement credit times 5! Bought SW Airline gift cards, Chipotle, Cracker Barrel, Subway, etc. at Target and saved $300 between our two cards that had that offer. Always read the fine print and if you have a joint card, make sure you use the main user’s card so the statement credit well get credited back to you properly. (I did get surprised on that once.) If your offer went through, they usually send an email right away congratulating you on getting your offer.

    • Pat

You say to use the main cardholders card if you have a joint account, but did you know you can get the offers on each card? We have four cards (2 of our teens have a card on our account for buying gas and family stuff) and of t end get the same offers on each card. Usually they show up on each card, sometimes only on one or two.
You have to log into each account to see the individual offers.
I love, love, love AMEX….we have the blue cash original card, and get 5% on gas, groceries and drug stores… I use the cash back to pay for Christmas gifts at the end of the year. With a hubby that drives an hour each way to work, and 3 teen/college people, it really adds up! We’ve saved thousands using the cards!

      • Kitty

So if I add a card for my husband he might get the offer as well?

        • Pat

Yes, although it’s probably too late for this particular offer.

          • Kim

I just added our second card to get the offers – the Amazon is now on that card as well. Thank you for the heads up on this.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for such awesome feedback! Good to know 🙂

For the dollar general gift cards, is there a minimum amount that has to be on the gift cards? For example, could I buy two gift cards both at $5 each??

  6. Ashley

Awesome!! Thanks, I got all of those on my AMEX.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Ashley!

  7. Krista

Paypal also has a lot of great offers. To see them, log into your account, at the top there is a tab that says “shop.” The offers available will pop up. For example I got $5 off $50 at Target. And they will pay for returned shipping on up to $30 on 4 packages if you need to return gifts.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up Krista!

Thank you for posting this. I never seem to get usable offers from AMEX, but I did get this Amazon credit. I will surely put it to good use. You’re the BEST!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are so welcome Kris!

  10. Jessie

Thanks for posting, my hubby and I both had it! I had just checked for offers yesterday, so I probably wouldn’t have looked again today without seeing this. Thanks!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Oh perfect! You’re welcome!

  11. kkennedy

Thank you! Hoping to use the amazon offer for a kindle fire for my kiddos.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      YW! 😀

  12. Sjack

In fine print it says excludes gift card , will i still get credit ?

    • Pat

Yes, that’s the standard wording, but it has always worked for me. In fact I just did it and got the congratulations email.

    • pandoraaddict

Actually only states excludes corporate gift cards. Never had a problem buying a regular gc for a statement credit.

  13. Suzanne H

I got the Amazon offer (have never gotten an Amazon offer before so I was super excited). Also got $10 back on $60 Whole Foods purchase. Used both yesterday!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet!

  14. Carrie

Thank you for the heads up! I need to check Amex offers more regularly! Now I just need to know what to buy, lol.

I used Carters and got the credit after a few days.

  15. Stacey

I got this one! Thanks for the heads up, Collin! I already had checked last week, so I wouldn’t have seen this if you hadn’t told us.

  16. La

I had the Amazon offer and a $50 credit on $100 for airbnb!

  17. Pat

If anyone has the Olive Garden gift card offer, there’s a new $10 bonus card for each $50 in gift cards offered on the website. So if you buy $50 gc, you will get a $10 bonus plus a $10 AMEX credit.
There is also a coupon code that works with the deal: 2GO5 will take $5 off.
So buy a $55 gc (custom amount) apply code so your oop is still $50
    Final = $40 for $65 of gc

    • Kim

Thank you!! I just used this….thanks for the 2G05 code!

  18. Cathy B

I had the $15 credit offer on my Amex BlueCash Card. It was not offered on my Costco Amex Card. 🙁

  19. Paulie

Thanks for the deals/tips. You all are awesome. Got the amazon. Didn’t get the dollar general.
