UPDATE: I just live chatted with Amazon and they said that it is for prime only and that there is a reason it is adding shipping charges just not one that they can see on their end unless i was to make the purchase so i just said to forget about it!

You should get together with family and split the cost. My family each pays $18 and we have seperate accounts. One prime membership is good for 4-5 ppl.

The rules changed in July. When you sign up for Prime now only 2 adults can share an account and they have to live in the same household. Also, both accounts have access to each other’s credit cards. You can also have 4 children on the account but they only have streaming and ebook options, and don’t get access to buy or benefit from the free shipping.
