Entertain the Family & Get a Good Laugh with Telestrations
Note from Collin:
Do you have a product you love? We definitely have many favorite products and thought it would be FUN to share some of them with you! I personally love product recommendations and I’ve also had a few requests from readers, so I have asked each member of the team to think of products they love (cosmetics, kitchen gadgets etc.) and to write up a post that will be shared here every Tuesday. Angie, my sidekick, is sharing one of her favorites…
Hi all! It’s Angie here, one of Collin’s sidekicks!
We often get together with my entire family and one of the things we love to do is play games. One of our favorite games to play together is Telestrations. This is a great game for kids and adults alike and works well with larger groups (although you may need more than one game).
It is one of those mindless games that everyone can be involved in and doesn’t require too much thinking. The kiddos just have to be old enough to read (or have someone help them) to play.
To get started, everyone has a sketchbook and playing card. You roll the dice and everyone writes the word (found on the playing card) that corresponds with the number on the dice on the first page of the sketchbook. You then close the sketchbook and pass it to the next player.
The next person looks at the word on the first page and has to sketch a picture depicting that word on the second page. You then close the sketchbook and pass it on.
The next person then looks ONLY at the sketch and they guess what they think the picture is and write it down on the third page. You continue this process until your sketchbook has made it around the circle and back to you. Each person only looking at either a sketch or the word, but never both.
Then each person takes a turn revealing their sketchbook – you start by reading what the word was when the game started and then show how the first person drew this word. You then read what the next person thought it was based on the picture they saw and show how the following person drew the word. You continue to do this until you have gone through each persons sketchbook.
This game has provided countless hours of fun and entertainment for my family and a LOT of laughs! You may start with the word elephant and by the time it has made the rounds, it comes back being a house. If your family enjoys playing games – this is definitely one to try. Even better, Target.com has this game on sale right now!

Let me tell you that this game is FUNNY! My family and I got this for Christmas and you should have seen us trying to draw simple things like a snail. LOL. Lot’s of fun but stressful if your family is as competitive as mine. Highly recommend.
Yay! So glad to hear you like this game too!
We love this game! Lots of laughs!
I agree! So much fun to play and a ton of laughter is always involved!
This game is awesome, we love it!! It is hilarious!!
So glad to hear you enjoy it as much as I do! 🙂
Sounds awesome! Will have to get this.
You won’t be disappointed! I highly recommend it!
We played at my daughters in Boise at Thanksgiving and again at Christmas. This game is a hoot, you have something in your head to draw but it doesn’t come out quite like you envisioned and of coarse the next to guess what you drew sees something else and on and on. I would recommend this game!!!!
LOL – I am definitely not an artist, so my pics never quite turn out how I had envisioned. 🙂 But you have so much fun trying!
You can play this game with only a few pads or pieces of paper! It’s more fun that way because then you can keep the “books” to laugh at for years to come, as my family has done. The results are hilarious and the memories are priceless.
That’s a great idea!!
Off topic… anyone get the fire extinguisher replacement that was offered on here a couple months back. I never heard anything and didn’t receive a new one. Thanks
We received our replacement a few weeks ago now. You ship your old one back in the same box the replacement came in.
Yep got ours a few weeks ago and mailed the old one back.
We got ours last week. They never gave any info about it coming or qualifying, it just showed up one day. We did have an issue getting our old one to fit in the box they sent, so we called the number and they said you can just take it to the local fire station for disposal.
This would be a hoot to play on a snow day!
Oh my word this game is a blast!! I was introduced to it a couple years ago at my sister in laws! And then got it for some of my nephews and nieces (4 kids total) last year for Christmas and they loved it!!!!! I got them ticket to Ride this year another awesome game! 🙂
Great game. Along with telestration after dark. Just beware that version is for adults only but soooooo much more fun for an older group to play. You get one dirty word then your suspicious of every word and chicken fried rice turns into not so inocente things. ;D
My family also loves this game. When my mom and cousin play this, they stare at each other and laugh uncontrollably.
Great game for all ages!
This game gets even more hilarious after a couple glasses if wine lol
This sounds fun. I love hearing about new games. It’s also something my kids could play with their grandparents.
We play this game, but without the actual packaged game. We just get a stack of scrap paper and cut it. We make sure we count the number of people and have that many pieces. But we do a phrase – such as “don’t cry over spilled milk”. Or we have done themed ones, for birthdays or wedding showers. It is great for all ages (reading and up)!
This is exactly what we do! We don’t have the game, we just number pieces of paper and pass the pile. We play an “adult version” and everyone thinks of a phrase for #1 and it goes around the table. The outcome are usually hilarious and many quite “risky”. We always have laughs!
Looks like fun… so I ordered one. Thanks!
