Hi there! Michelle here – one of the Hip2Save sidekicks!
A few months ago I shared my disappointment with my beautiful Pioneer Woman Dishes I bought at Walmart. After just a few months of use, my bowls and plates were chipped in several places and my Pioneer Woman lovin’ heart was just a little broken. 💔

HOWEVER, there is a happily ever after to this story…

When I posted about my experience, Pioneer Woman Customer service reached out to us and shared the following in the comments (YES, we were SO impressed!)…

Hello, Michelle–and other PW Collection customers! We are sorry if any PW products have disappointed you! Ree is extremely involved in her line and is 100% committed to improving any quality issues that arise. She stands behind her products and will make sure that customers receive replacements if anything goes wrong! Improvements are being made constantly—we want everyone to love the PW line!

Please email products@thepioneerwoman.com with any PW products that have disappointed you (please include photos for reference) and we will make sure they are quickly replaced! We definitely want to make you happy!

Love,
PW Product Team

Talk about AWESOME customer service!

I snapped a few photos of my damaged items and emailed customer service. It was super easy to do and I heard back from them in less than a week.

…And then the best Christmas surprise arrived late in December!

A box arrived on my doorstep and inside were three new bowls and a new salad plate to replace my chipped dishes and an extra wooden spatula. Such a fun surprise, and now I’m even more in love with the Pioneer Woman Brand!

We love happily ever after customer service stories and this is a good one! I was still a big fan of these beautiful floral dishes and EVERYTHING the Pioneer Woman puts out, but this just seals the deal for me! Fan for life here! ✋

And I have noticed that lately the Pioneer Woman dishes I’ve purchased at Walmart do seem to be much higher quality, so it appears they have listened to feedback from customers and are working to make their branded products even better than before!

So if you have been disappointed with something you bought from Pioneer Woman, be sure and email Pioneer Woman customer service at products@thepioneerwoman.com and let them know.

Thanks Pioneer Woman for standing behind your products! You’ve got a fan for life…

I did not have the same experience with pioneer woman I contacted them back in July because I had received three canisters as a mother’s day gift the canisters would not close because of the latches.I got a hold of pioneer woman who sent me through to Walmart I had to tell my story over and over again they wanted receipts barcodes and many other things that I could not provide to them finally after three months I received three ceramic lids that I cannot use and I had already thrown the glass canister around because I didn’t have a lid to close it now I have three lids no wire latches and no canisters. I can’t figure out how to attach pictures or I will detach them for you to see. 😢 I did not have a good experience with this company at all.

My guess is that YOU are not a “Blogger” like the woman who made the complaint in this story.
SHE got a great result (IF getting replacement pieces that are going to chip as quickly as her old pieces did can be considered a great result) because she has a lot of blog followers !

  3. Angel Phillips

Well I did not have the same experience was told if it was not a manufacturer defect they could not do anything but I could buy another for the price you pay for the cookware set it should have not dented by accidentally dropping not happy

Thank you sooooo much Michelle for writing this blog! I have had problems with my can opener I bought at Walmart in November of 2019 and cannot find the receipt. It wouldn’t open a darn can at all! Not even when my husband tried as well. I was so upset that they would sell these products that were faulty. Now I can email them and hopefully they can remedy my situation!

I had issues with 2 of the casserole dishes. The first one cracked while in the oven so I just threw it away since I didn’t have the receipt. But then I was using the 2nd one in the set and it cracked too while in the oven. Temp was 350 degrees and when the dish heated up I heard a pop so I looked in oven and that dish was cracked also. So by this time I’m pretty upset because her stuff isn’t cheap. So I contacted their customer service and within 2 weeks I had a $60.00 Egift card for Walmart to purchase whatever. So I was pleased they stood behind their product.

Omg I am having exactly the same problem with the Paige gold dishes. My daughter got them for me for Christmas so I had this beautiful table. I now have many bowls that have long cracks in them and dishes with the edges chipped. I was so excited to have these from pioneer woman and now I am just heart broken. The finish is actually beginning to look pitted and dull. I do not even have a dishwasher so the damage is extensive as to how careful I have been. I am now looking at the same problem I had a few years back, no decent dishes. please help, I am on a fixed income.

I discovered they have large levels of Lead an Cadmium..I purchased two sets of the lace teal.. a couple years ago now the plates are FADING that causes Leaching of the Lead into food on the Plates… very saddening… I am 70 years old can’t really afford to toss these in the trash… plus I bought 4 coffee mugs to match with the beautiful red flowers…Very disappointing

    • Dj

As we all know it is all made in CHINA. She may call it a American co but everything she makes is stamped made in China.

Do you know where to find replacement Pioneer Woman items that Walmart.ca says are no longer available?

  16. Stella Edwards

I JUST RETURNED TWO SETS OF PIONEER WOMAN FARMHOUSE LACE DISH SETS! THANKS PIONEER WOMAN!! YOU DON’T WARN YOUR DEAR CUSTOMERS OF THE HIGH LEAD AND CADMIUM CONTENT IN YOUR DISHES!! POISONOUS AND CANCER CAUSING!!! YOU SHOULD BE SUED!!!!

  17. Dee Hallam

I bought a set of speckled cookware made by The Pioneer Woman. While washing dishes, one of the lids disintegrated, before my eyes(I have pictures) Thinking it was just a fluke, I wanted that lid replaced because I loved the pot . Since I could no longer get the speckled, I bought a blue pot and lid for $30. A few months later, ANOTHER lid disintegrated before my eyes! Not the same size lid. A smaller one to the pot. I have pictures. This crap was made in China and I want my original $80 back and the $30.00 I paid to replace it. You can have the pans. Lucky for me I wear rubber gloves while washing dishes and I didn’t get cut.

Pioneer women pressure pots are a joke. I got one for Christmas. Used it one time. The next time I tried to use it the little pressure valve blue out. Now it is useless. No refund because it was a gift and I have no recite

  19. Chrystal Williams

My son bought me a set of the nesting oven dishes for Xmas. One of the plastic lids doesn’t fit right. Because the plastic lids has a crack. Don’t even know how. May have been that way.

  20. Chrystal Williams

Have a question about a tea kettle I have the lid falls off when you pour the water. Didn’t know if it might need a seal.

  21. Angie Betts

My husband bought me the shadow rose dinner ware. We are on a fixed income so I cherish every piece I get. The first time using thesaucer I the set it broke in half in the microwave after a minute use. Iam so upset. I want to replace the broken plate. Now iam Terrified to use these in the microwave. How can I replace this piece

  22. MomForChrist

According to “Lead Safe Mama”, Pioneer Woman dishes contain high levels of lead and cadmium. Mine are all going back to Walmart. Such a shame because they are so pretty. But lead is a neurotoxin and not to be in dishes you and your family eat off of!

  23. AmyBs

That’s great to hear! I just recently emailed them regarding a similar issue with my PW kettle! Hopefully I hear back soon!

  24. Tresea Smith

I bought the pioneer woman jade dishes for my daughter as a birthday gift, as soon as she put hot soup in one of the bowls it shattered. She then fixed cereal in another of the bowls and it cracked in the center. She was heartbroken to say the least, not sure what happened here but I did expect better quality.

  25. Kim spence

I bought 9 sets bake and prep sets at Christmas time and 3 of the casserole dishes were broken how do I get them replaced thank you they were gifts so I only have one of the broken ones the other two got thrown away buy my daughter gave me hers thank you. They came from Walmart

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Hey Kim! So sorry to hear about the dishes. If you’ve checked with Walmart on their return policy, it looks like from the post details you might have luck e-mailing Pioneer Woman customer service at products@thepioneerwoman.com and let them know about your experience, and include pictures, if possible. Hoping this is helpful! 💕

  26. Julie O'Neil

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh no! So sorry about that, Julie. Thanks for the heads up on your set. ❤️

  27. Ginni Westwood

I want to know about the recall on the dishes that have lead and cadimium in them. Walmart is saying that the recall is for the last 4 months due to a manufacturing change. I was going to purchase 2 more plates and they wouldn’t scan so cashier asked someone and was told they were on recall. This is a serious issue for me as I have kidney failure, please let me know.

    • Trish (Hip Sidekick)

Sorry to hear about the recall on your dishes, Ginni! You might try reaching out to customer service at products@thepioneerwoman.com for more information. Hoping they are able to help! 💗
