A few months ago I shared my disappointment with my beautiful Pioneer Woman Dishes I bought at Walmart. After just a few months of use, my bowls and plates were chipped in several places and my Pioneer Woman lovin’ heart was just a little broken. 💔


HOWEVER, there is a happily ever after to this story…

When I posted about my experience, Pioneer Woman Customer service reached out to us and shared the following in the comments (YES, we were SO impressed!)…

She stands behind her products and will make sure that customers receive replacements if anything goes wrong! Improvements are being made constantly—we want everyone to love the PW line!

Talk about AWESOME customer service!

I snapped a few photos of my damaged items and emailed customer service. It was super easy to do and I heard back from them in less than a week.


…And then the best Christmas surprise arrived late in December!

A box arrived on my doorstep and inside were three new bowls and a new salad plate to replace my chipped dishes and an extra wooden spatula. Such a fun surprise, and now I’m even more in love with the Pioneer Woman Brand!


We love happily ever after customer service stories and this is a good one! I was still a big fan of these beautiful floral dishes and EVERYTHING the Pioneer Woman puts out, but this just seals the deal for me! Fan for life here! ✋

And I have noticed that lately the Pioneer Woman dishes I’ve purchased at Walmart do seem to be much higher quality, so it appears they have listened to feedback from customers and are working to make their branded products even better than before!

    After reading the original post, I reached out to customer service about the enamel on my pan that melted off onto my burner, and they sent me a new one plus a bonus cow creamer! Excellent customer service goes a long way. Thanks to H2S for posting about this to begin with, otherwise Iโ€™d have never thought to email them!

        The major issue for me would be….why did it melt? Was the product defective? Will it happen again with the replacement?

          It doesnโ€™t state it on the Walmart website but the pots and pans arenโ€™t compatible with glass top stoves only gas/electric. A lot of people have had issues because itโ€™s not made transparent on site when people buy.

      I was given an email address as a response to my private message to her FB page. I sent an email stating about after two months my cookware is all scratched and now non-stick is lifting and flaking off. I have heard ZERO. I so love her products looks and wanted this cookware to work, but two months and hand washed and plastic utensils??? I am so sad that I got no response!

      I actually came here to say that we purchased a dog collar (I know, different product and company) and that thing was not cheap. After a few months it started to rip. I had the tags and the receipt, which they didn’t need either and emailed them. The lady was so nice! Company is Coastal Pets. She said if I wanted to send picture of the rip she would appreciate it but I didn’t have to and they replaced it for free! I didn’t have to send back the old one. I did email pictures of the tear and about a week after I contacted them a new one came in the mail!

    Great to hear this! I only have a couple bowls but love them. As another GREAT customer experience to share is with Harry & David. I had sent several packages to my out of state family. I inadvertently sent my brothers to an old address. I called them to track it and told them my situation. I mostly wanted to see if the new residents had kept the package for themselves. They did not it and was return to sender. Because it’s perishable H&D said they usually destroy it; not send back. I figured I was out and was going to reorder… BUT before I could do that the agent said THEY would be happy to send another package AT NO COST… I was SO IMPRESSED! It was completely my own fault and they stepped up. I figure they likely had left over stock from Christmas and so it was minimal for them to send it and HUGE customer service points. I will definitely be a customer for life. Love their pears anyway, but now love them even more!!!!

    I love companies that stand behind their products. I just bought some headphones that fell apart after a couple months of only occasional use. I only used them a couple of times, but customer service wouldnโ€™t do anything for me because it was past the return period. I much prefer spending my money on brands that will make it right when issues arise. I did just buy some pioneer woman ramekins so Iโ€™m glad to hear they have such good customer service.

    I have PW ramekins that my girls (3 &7) have used EVERY DAY for months for their morning yogurt. They have fallen numerous times and we have never had any problems. We love them!!

    I like the Strawberry Street brand too. Ordered fr Walmart. A set serves 6. Over 30 pieces. They easily replaced any defective piece. No hassle. Great quality. Found out bout this brand on here a couple of months ago.

        I have the aqua and red set but they crack and chip easily. I am careful
        With my dishes. One bowl cracked down the middle in the microwave . I love Ree and her products. Just came from the Merc & Lodge yesterday but I am disappointed in my dishes.

          Made in CHINA. Would appreciate it if she found a USA company to manufacture things for her. She always used Fiesta Ware and All Clad prior to signing on with these companies to endorse her name.

          I’m very leary of inexpensive (Cheap) Chinese goods from WalMart,
          especially ceramics & kitchen ware.
          If it chips & cracks so easily, WHY would I want them replaced with more things that are probbly going to chip & crack again.
          ALSO, with the reputation China has for it’s quality of ingredients (poisoning baby formula, lead in glazes, God Only Knows WHAT in Non-Stick pans, glass bakeware that explodes when the cool room air enters your just opened Hot Oven becuase they changed the formula when Pyrex sold to the Chinese, etc.) I’d MUCH rather use my vintage USA, England, Germany or France Made cookware, dishes, glassware than this Cheap Chinese Crap that is everywhere !

    I also bought some dishes from Walmart
    , the Paige dish set in white and red one plate came in and wasnโ€™t glazed on the corner they did replace it when I complained. However Iโ€™ve only had the dishes for three weeks and theyโ€™re all chipping Iโ€™ve never had such terrible experience with dishware. They were kind enough to replace the first one but now I mean how many times are they going to replace dishes that get chipped itโ€™s just my husband and I so thereโ€™s not even any children Using the dishes just not made very well very disappointed. I still love her show but will not purchase her products again.

      The new Paige line features a photo of her teenage daughter holding a tall boy of MGD completely hammered. It will also crack.

    Omgosh love this! I have been debating on getting a new set. I saw the last review and was disappointment. Plus having 4 kids I didn’t want to spend $100 for them to chip. I see a new dish set in my soon future!

    Whatโ€™s to say the replacements wonโ€™t chip then you have to keep emailing again. They just sound like they arenโ€™t made well. Doesnโ€™t matter how good the customer service is. Who want to keep buying dishes that chip

    Yโ€™all. I got some of these dishes for Christmas and I am obsessed. I havenโ€™t had any issues with them yet (although itโ€™s still early) but pictures donโ€™t do these dishes justice. They are absolutely stunning.

    My neighbor is a huge fan so she bought some pieces and linens etc. And had probs from the get go. She tossed what she had since so disappointed. I mentioned this post…. but already tossed. Anyway, good to know they have good customer service — but wonder if they were “shamed” by the bad PR from a big site like this and YT channels that were critical. Makes me think they should have better quality from the get go. I think toooooo often many of these things are made super cheap so can be sold at reasonable price. Bit good they resolved!

    I received some last Christmas. I was using the batter bowl and immediately got a chip in the small one. I made a repair, best I could but I no longer will use them. They do look nice displayed on my counter.

    I just bought the beautiful pioneer woman cake stand with some loud for $7! I was nervous on the clearance price but I’m happy knowing the company is willing to be so kind and honorable.

    I bought two of the Pioneer Woman mugs that look like glass jars, only plastic with lids and straws. So cute. I went back to Walmart to buy more, because my grandkids were coming & would be perfect for milkshakes. To my sadness, they don’t carry them anymore. They were double walked and kept drinks cold.

    I purchased 4 sets of PW dishes plus 4 sets of mugs from Walmart for our daughter and her husbands wedding anniversary. Twelve of the plates had deep scratches in the glaze on the eating surface. It was only on the dinner plates. It most certainly happened while packing or just before from the patterns of the scratches.
    My daughter contacted PW costumer service and was advised to contact Walmart even though we explained scratches had to have happened at packing.
    It wasn’t pleasant ordering more, going through those plates and now returning the ones we don’t want.
    Although I love the pattern my daughter chose, I’m now afraid what the future holds regarding chipping.
    I also found the cow girl lace mugs I purchased to go with the dishes had huge light color variances that looked like lip prints at the rim. I wouldn’t mind color variances but these were the only variances on the mug, . Also, about 6 of these footed mugs leaned.
    I’ve got to say, I’m concerned.

    Thanks for this post! I received a broken Ceramic Rectangular Baker in my Black Friday – 17 Piece Set- that I purchased from Walmart. I would just return to Walmart, but with it being a BF item, I’m certain they don’t have another set to exchange it out with. I’ve contacted them. Keep your fingers crossed that they can help me out.

      I sent the an email 5 weeks ago after coming across this article. It took me going on Facebook and posting about my issues before I got a response, which still took almost two weeks. They told me they would replace my broken dishes. But 5 weeks out and still waiting. I wonder if I were to order new dishes online if it would take so long to get them. Horrible customer service ๐Ÿ™

    I complined about chipped & broken dishes. They sent replacements for those few along with a wooden spoon. Since then, however, I’m down to one of each of the plate set. It doesn’t matterm if they send replacements if they’re junk too.

    I am very pleased to have come across this post. I love my pioneer woman dishes I have collected just about everything that she has put out ,but a couple of weeks ago my new dishes broke in half after putting one in microwave for 30 seconds it split apart right in my hands they say they are microwave safe and all have now cracked. But last night was my breaking point I was so disappointed and just knew Mrs.Ree would never put a product out like this my 8 yr old son put a pancake on a plate put it in microwave for 15 seconds and when he removed plate it cracked into dozens of pieces.. He was so upset that he thought he’d broke my beautiful dishes his little heart just broke I assured him him being safe was all that mattered. Thank you for sharing your story. Farrah Russo

      My items were not replaced. My info was given to a 3rd party thru Walmart. Walmart wanted pictures (I supplied) bar codes,receipts and labels. I did not have the bar-codes,receipts and labels. Walmart was very rude and still has not replaced my items. It was a canister set the hinges that hold the lids were broken but Walmart treated me as though I had stole them.Not a good experience at all.

    I recieved the 10 piece set Pioneer cookware at Christmas time last year and I love my pots and pans but my Lids do not fit correctly and I’m not sure who I need to contact because I can’t get the right information so I figured I would post on here I do hope someone from pioneer woman reaches out to me to resolve this issue
