AND, since we’re celebrating Hip’s 10th birthday, we thought it’d be fun to recap some of our favorite freebies and deals over the years. From in-store deals to exciting sweepstakes and HOT freebies, we definitely had a hard time narrowing our faves down to just a few!
2008:
When I first launched the site back in 2008, I loved shopping at Walgreens! I managed to snag quite a few freebies, money-makers, and lots of unbelievably inexpensive items.
I can’t believe how young Piper and Ayden were 😢 — they were such good helpers and loved posing with my Walgreens loot! ❤ Time flies!
2009:
Oh the good ‘ol days of Kmart Double Deals! I remember scoring over $280 worth of products for just over $25 – including tax! 😱 I was super excited and walked out of Kmart with a huge smile I couldn’t seem to wipe off my face! I was one proud coupon lovin’ momma! 💃
Oh, and anyone else remember staying up super late for those *HOT* $75 off $100 and $50 off $100 Old Navy coupons found on the OldNavyWeekly.com site back in 2009?! Those were awesome! 😍

2010:
From 54¢ Hair Clips at The Limited, to a FREE ProForce Cleaning Kit for Sam’s Club members, to the FREE candy at Rite Aid, FREE Fisher-Price car with free shipping, and a $9 Listerine money-maker at Walgreens, there were lots of fun deals in 2010!

You know, when she goes in the high-end store and is asked to leave. But then I remembered, I am so PROUD of what I’m doing. I’m being smart with my money and if they can’t respect that, then they’re the ones that have issues– NOT me!”
2011:
Anyone remember the fun Wendy’s “Here’s the Beef” T-Shirt Contest? There were so many Hip2Save readers who won a free shirt, like this cute couple who were featured on a Happy Friday post!

If you were a CVS shopper back in 2012, there was a smokin’ HOT deal you could score on a Craig 4GB MP3 Player! A reader had emailed to let me know that these MP3 Players that were listed in the weekly ad for $49.99 (reg. $79.99!) were ringing up for ONLY $9.99 and you’d get back a $10 CVS CashCard! Were any of you able to score this deal back in the day? If so, do you still use your MP3 player? 😂

This Timex/Earrings Target deal was such a FUN deal to find… I paid only $2.38 for BOTH items! 😮
Also, does anyone remember this *HOT* $25 off any $25 purchase + free shipping Piperlime deal back in 2013? The post has 1700 comments! WOW!

This HOT Lands’ End Kids Backpack Deal? The FREE Chipotle Burrito text offer, and FREE Taylormade Golf Balls or Golf Clubs! Oh and let’s not forget about the HOT Apple iPad clearance finds some of you were able to score at Walmart! There were lots of awesome deals back in 2016!

My husband still has his where’s the beef shirt too. I remember her wore it Halloween 2011 with a pair of aviators, a bad fake mustache & a pseudo police hat. LOL.
I remember many Sundays in 2011 gathering up as many Albertson’s ads as I could because they only allowed 3-Twice the Value coupons per transaction. And when LivingSocial first came on the scene and offered 5 Big Macs for $5 or something wild like that.
I started couponing in 2011 when we unexpectedly welcomed our second but still had a toddler in diapers. We went through a lot of diaper deals and a lot of formula deals in that time frame. But it just kind of stuck to get us through an unemployment stint, cancer treatment and pay for a few vacations along with being able to give more than we ever could have without the deal match ups. Congrats, H2S on a successful 10 years & countless lives touched by your dedication.
I too was a winner of the Where’s the Beef Tee. I just got rid of it in May!
I loved those victoria secret cards. Many almost free panties and stuff.
I opted for sunglasses for the target deal cuz I needed some and I don’t wear a watch. I still have them and I just wore them the other day when my newest pair needed repair. What a trip seeing those old Target Mobil coupons again! I used to get so much free stuff at Kmart with double coupons! Times sure have changed. Thanks for the trip down coupon memory lane
I’ve been a hip2saver since 2009. Back then, I carried a giant 3 ring binder in a big red shoulder bag just like Collin’s. I spent every Sunday cutting out all my coupons. Remember double couponing at midnight at Walmart and Kroger? I would see a post for a free razor at Target or something like that and would load up and drive there just to get the deal. And find the item all sold out on so many occasions. But I couldn’t stop, I was an addict! It was such a high to score the deal! Oh the good ol’ days. I have saved so much $$$ over the last 9 years, it’s crazy. I still check this site daily. Thanks for providing this service to your loyal followers! Cheers!
