So I actually just did this deal at my local Sam’s Club. I bought the membership for $45 with the code I got from my email (when you follow the link, you give your email and it sends a code that the associate needs to put in when they sign you up for the membership. Then during that same visit, I bought like $80 worth of stuff, and $45 came off that purchase when I was checking out. Hope that helps.

Please note that after this purchase, you will be set up for Auto Renewal after your first transaction in club, which will be an annual recurring charge in the amount of the, then standard, membership fee for all active memberships on your account. I can’t get the link to work..

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! I still find the link to work for me. Maybe try again in a different browser OR switch to desktop view if using a mobile device. Hoping that helps!

  2. Lana

Check iBotta! I have some great coupons like $2 off a rotisserie chicken!

  3. BuffaloGal

Dosh has $20 cash back for signing up and 2% on purchases and Chase Offers(also has promo code to join for $45 credit) is giving $10 back for signing up

    • Sunil

Dosh is gone…now the $20 is only for the $100 membership

  4. Alma

How do you access Chase offers? I don’t bank with Chase but I do have a credit card with them.

    • Sunil

Download the Chase Pay app (different than Chase app)…

  5. Sunil

After signing up, go to and you will get offers for $2 off bananas (which makes them FREE), a free rotisserie chicken, a free Pizza Combo (Pizza slice and drink)

Also you will get a free $5 Gift Card on signup I think

    • Norita

I did this and “won” the coupons, but don’t remember what they all were and can’t figure our where to find them on line or on the app. How did you redeem them?

  6. Happy Aunt

Does this mean whatever I purchase up to $45 will be free as long as it isnt on sale or an item listed above? I just want to make sure I understand correctly as the nearest Sam’s is almost 80 miles from me and I wouldn’t visit often. TIA!

    • Patty

Deal Seeking Mom posted about this a few days ago and then I read the reviews. Some people said they give you $45 in coupons and that it’s a scam. Others said they got the $45 off at their 1st purchase. I wonder if a certain state(s) are giving only coupons.

      • Anne Kuhlwilm

Still waiting for my $45 after visiting the store and making 3 purchases. First was at the perfume counter, and also regular cashier. Was told had to be one purchase of $45. Made a second trip and made a $49 purchase. Still no credit. Been on the phone with someone in the Philippines for 1 he, couldn’t understand her, put on whole many times, no resolution, finally hung up. This has been going on since 11/11/2020. Going to check with my credit card company. Not worth being a member. Will stick with Cisco and BJ’s. They respect my business.

      • Patty

Thanks! I’m in SC so I hope the same happens here.

        • Amy L.

Hey Patty-I did it in Anderson, SC and it worked great! We even played the new member game and got a free chicken, ice cream sundae and $2 off strawberries.

          • Patty

            Perfect, thank you!

    • Jo

I buy alot the first day but I never got the 45 back so everything might it be on sale

  7. Sara S

Has anyone received the $45 credit yet? If so, does it alert you when it’s applied (in an email or notication on the app)?

    • Sarah

No you don’t get alerted. But it’s available right away.

    • Kim

It’s available right away – I did an order for pick up after signing up online and it came right off!

    • Amy L.

I was told that for the $45 to come off, you need to use the scan-and-go through the Sams app. I downloaded the Sams app in store, scanned all my items and the $45 was applied automatically. So simple and I can’t believe I haven’t used the scan feature in the app.

  8. Denise

Is it just my phone not working right? Has anyone else had issues posting comments?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh bummer! Let us know if you have any issues posting your comments, so that we can check it out! Thanks so much!

  9. Andrea Dodge

is there somewhere to put the activation code or does it track it by email?

    • Patty

Great question. I clicked the link they sent but am afraid I won’t get the deal if I don’t put the access number they sent me. I may just go there to be sure.

      • Melissa

I signed up about a week ago. If you sign up online via the emailed link you don’t need to put in a promo code. The promo code is only needed if you go in-store to sign up. I received my $45 off when I picked up my online order the next day.

        • Michelle

That’s what I did but didn’t get the discount

      • Amy L.

I went to the store because I couldn’t find a spot on the website to enter in the activation code. I was told that it had to be processed in store.

  10. Michelle

I did this last Friday online and the $45 never went on my account. Customer service in store was horrible. I had 1 online chat, 2 phone calls, and 2 emails in when they finally just gave me a $45 gift card for it. Headache! The last person I spoke with yesterday, who resolved it, got it done in about 2 minutes, she seemed like she was well aware of issues with it and didn’t even question it just said let me get this approved and we’ll be done. Apparently there have been many issues with this.

    • Stacy

I am not getting the $45 either but wasn’t sure who to call. Did you call Sams Club to get this resolved?

      • Michelle

        Yes, the 800 number

    • Nicole

I joined online as well a few days ago and wasn’t credited the $45 either. I already went through the first online chat with not much success. She said she was going to have to send my info to the right department and someone would get back to me. If I would have known joining online was going to be so much trouble, I would have done it at the store.

    • S. Celiano

Same here except I can’t find anyone that can help. Have spent many hours on the phone.

  11. Donna
      • Cheryl

I checked my Ibotta account and there’s nothing about a $10 rebate. Is there some secret place they post super special offers I just haven’t found yet?

        • Donna

Try typing the word “membership” in the Ibotta search bar. That’s how I found it. HTH!

    • Cheryl

Is this only for new customers?

      • Donna

        I think so

  12. debbie miller

I can’t get the link to work . I’ve tried cell phone & work computer . I’m in Kentucky .

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh bummer! Sorry to hear about the issues. The links are still working for me. Have you been able to try a different browser? Also, be sure to allow the page to sit for a moment as it may take a bit to fully load up. Hoping that helps!

    • Lana

Go right to and you will see the offer on the front page.

  13. Amy

I couldn’t get mine to work either until…. I used the app and had over $45 of items in my cart. Worked like a charm! Thanks!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh good! Glad to hear it finally worked for you, Amy! Thanks for the helpful feedback!

  14. debbie

I never could get the link to work . I tried a different browser too. I went to website no deal on there. Thanks everybody.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! Are you clicking through the link in the post? I still find the deal to pop up for me as I click through, in Chrome on my laptop. Maybe clear your browser history and try again. Hoping that might help!

  15. Nikki

Easy breezy, I just did this last night in store. I missed out on the extra 3 months when my local store closed so I held out on renewing my membership. I shopped for my items which come to a little over $50. I went to customer service used the code from the email paid for my membership and then she rung me up paid the $6 balance after the $45 came off. WIN, WIN for me.

  16. Eve

For people that the $45 came off at checkout, did you have to use the scan-and-go app? I don’t really want to download more apps, if I don’t have to. Thanks.

    • Donna

No, it worked for me and I did not get the app.

  17. Heather Condon

So this didn’t work out so fabulous for me. I went to the store in Roseville, Mi and bought my membership showing the emailed code easy peasy. Was told the $45 would come off automatically at checkout like described in an earlier comment. So I proceeded to shop & spent $240, but $45 did NOT come off. A manager was brought over and after some back & forth she discovered that the deal does state in the fine print that there is a delay of up to 72 hours for the savings to be loaded to your account. I see that now that I read over this post more carefully here as well, but I wanted to point this out to help avoid confusion for anyone else.

  18. Lauren

I did this today and it worked great. The associate in the store told me that the 45 dollars off will not work on sale or clearance items. That could be why it didn’t work for some people.

    • Liza (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Thanks for the tip Lauren! Glad you were able to snag the deal without any issues! 🙂

  19. Dana

My sister and I each did this today and it worked smoothly. We used the scan and go app and it deducted right off and we paid only balance. We also got $10 gift card for signing up in store and a free take and bake pizza. Then we also did the treasure hunt on another reader had mentioned and got free items and more discounts. It was fun! Might be using this over my Costco membership as I liked the variety of items we saw today. Thanks for the deal!

  20. ashley

If you anyone plan to take sam’s club membership , signup though this link , you will get extra $20 e gift card.

  21. Cheryl

Is this only for new customers?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Cheryl! This offer is valid for a NEW membership. Hope that helps!

  22. Thomas

Is this a PLUS membership or Standard?

    • Suz in OH

I am considering doing the offer and $45 is the standard membership. This is also what shows in the email they sent with the code. Am wondering though if I can do this deal and then upgrade to the Plus? Hate to spend $100 if I could get get Plus for a net of $55.

  23. Suz in OH

We wanted to get a 4 piece garage storage set from Sam’s online. Needed Plus to get the free shipping, which would save about $72. Used the link to get the $45 membership with the $45 back. Next, went into account online for the new membership and upgraded to Plus for additional $55. Decided to go ahead and order 2 of the pieces because the site said there were only 2 left. The $45 was credited on that order! Less than 2 hours had gone by from when I created the membership! Sam’s had sent me a $5 ecard for joining/upgrading so I used that on my order for the other 2 items.
Spent $100, got $50 back and saved $72 in shipping. Not even counting Ebates and credit card cash bac and the cash back the Plus membership will give me. Thanks Hip2Save!

  24. antony

great deal. in fact it is a money maker deal. In addition to $45 credit I got $25 cashback from amex, $20 gift card from Sam’s, $25 cash back from Sam’s

  25. antony
