Wedding planning? 10 reasons why we love the Target Wedding Registry!
Does anyone have a suggestion for a dinnerware set that they love and holds up really well? I’ve had the same dishes for years and I recently decided to upgrade and I purchased three boxes from Home Depot from a post I saw here on Hip2save, but I’ve already had to send them back because they started scuffing immediately. They looked like I’ve had them for years and not a matter of days. Looking for something that doesn’t scuff so easily
I personally have the Lenox pearl groove set. I absolutely love them. Purchased them on clearance at Belk for roughly $15 a place setting. They have been great. You can’t go wrong with Lenox.
Fiesta….cheap and lasts forever
I really like Corelle for everyday dinnerware – it is 3-layer tempered glass which does not chip, crack or break. I have been using it every day since I got married in 1977 and I now have several cute patterns (including holiday) which I mix and match to this day! You can buy it at Kohl’s, Macy’s, Amazon, Corelle.com, Walmart, Wayfair and Ebay (for vintage patterns). There is also a French version of Corelle called Arcopal with a bunch of cute vintage patterns available on Ebay. Just make sure to carefully read the details on their condition when shopping on Ebay – I only purchase “like new” or items that show no visible wear to avoid utensil scratches and other damage which can be disappointing.
maybe their old version is stronger. I bought one set each in 2017 and 2019. now I can’t get even one set! I bought them because I heard so much about them not getting crack easily. But it doesn’t happen to me. Maybe our floor is concrete and nothing can be survived? I didn’t smash it, it just slipped off the counter, then crushed on the floor. I can’t even trust any brand. Is Lenox stronger than Corelle?
No. Lenox (and most dishes) will break when dropped on a hard surface (I worked in a fine China department for several years). Corelle may still be your best bet (for casual dishes) as it is relatively inexpensive.
I love Corelle, it lasts forever, as long as you don’t drop it on the floor. It also comes in really cute prints and is light weight.
Corelle. My parents still have sets from when I was a child. I have had mine for 11 years and they still look great!
I got the Lenox Alpine tidbit 4 piece plate set with the matching mug set. They are adorable! My daughter will love them!
Thanks for all the recommendations everyone! I have some shopping to do now lol
