Have You Ever Tried Rambutans? We Spotted Them for Just $5.99 at Costco
Heading to Costco?
Keep an eye out for these strange looking fruits called Rambutans! These limited edition fruits are delicious and your kiddos are sure to give you funny looks when you put a few on their plate. Make sure to grab some right away though as they won’t be around for long.
Rambutans start out green and then they turn red, orange, or yellow as they ripen. This super-sweet fruit tastes like a peeled grape and has around 10 calories each. Want to try one? Just cut a slit in the spiky skin, peel it off, eat the fleshy insides, and toss the pit. Rambutans can be refrigerated whole and unpeeled to extend their freshness.
The large 1.5-pound packages sell for just $5.99 at Costco but in previous years we’ve also spotted them at Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and Whole Foods!

Yes…they are yummy.
These really are delicious! The only pet peeve I have about these fresh ones is that sometimes, the seed skin gets stuck to the white flesh. They do sell canned versions of these and that’s what I get when I can’t find fresh ones. I love the texture.
I love these fruits. I always buy them at Asian stores when in season.
Thank you so much for posting this deal! Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that it’s possible to be allergic to these, especially if you have a sensitivity to lychees or even some stone fruits. A relative of mine gets really puffy and itchy if she eats or even lets the raw juice sit on her hands. I don’t think it’s common, but please be aware if you’re trying these for the first time or giving them to children! Hope all of you have a wonderful day 🥰
You’re so welcome! Thank YOU for the helpful warning! Hoping you have a wonderful day too, Emmama!
Yeah tree nut allergy people beware!
Good to know! Thanks so much for the heads up!
