Target to Start Limiting Number of Shoppers to Help Reduce Spread of Coronavirus
Target may begin to limit the number of guests in each store.
As Target stores across the country remain open so that people can shop for essentials, the retailer continues to enact new policies designed to promote safety and social distancing.
Beginning April 4, Target will start to “monitor and meter” guest traffic as needed in all of its stores. To reduce the possibility of overcrowding, occupancy limits will be determined by each individual store’s square footage. If limits must be enforced, a Target team member will provide a designated waiting area outside with social distancing markers.
Target will also begin to supply its 350,000+ team members in stores and distribution centers with disposable face masks and gloves at the beginning of every shift.
These items are expected to begin rolling out within the next two weeks, and team members will be “strongly encouraged” to wear them while working. Shoppers with Shipt, the same-day delivery service owned by Target, will also have access to these masks and gloves.
These updates are in addition to the other steps the company has taken recently, including new cleaning procedures, the temporary suspension of all returns, floor decals to promote social distancing, plexiglass partitions at all registers, and contactless order pickup. John Mulligan, Target’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, said in a statement:
“The measures we’re announcing today are aimed at ensuring we are creating a safe environment for the guests who continue to turn to Target, while also providing our team with additional resources as they fulfill an essential service in communities across the country.”
Target has also been encouraging healthy hygiene habits among its staff, investing in higher hourly wages, bonuses, and benefits for frontline team members, and making donations to the medical community. You can read more about the company’s efforts in its most recent press release.
These stores offer special hours for vulnerable shoppers and frontline responders!
My Target started today with lines on the floor and security outside – I assume counting the number of people entering.
After reading on here that some people are just out shopping for home decorations this is a smart move.
My daughter works at Target and she said people have been coming in just to buy beauty items and home decor. I wish they’d make those items for pickup only.
Seriously. Last time I was out buying a heaping cart of groceries for me and three other families, I couldn’t believe the number of people at the store solely buying unnecessary stuff like that.
My Target in Beaverton OR needs to do this. Good grief I went to pickup a drive up order and lot of people walking in and some walking out. While I just popped my trunk and they gladly threw it in. Then I come home Lysol my trunk and leave my stuff in there then go shopping in my trunk later in the week..oooo what you get lol. I have to entertain myself somehow between FT working and this homeschool gig
WooHoo Target! Stop the people from coming in groups just to browse because they are bored. Our country can’t begin to heal with people continuing the spread of COVID 19.
Some people NEED small interaction or the small joy of buying a tangible item for themselves or their house as hope for their mental health. Let’s not label a whole group of people as inferior and in the same breath talk about healing.
No one “needs” “small interactions” at Target at this point. If buying something is so important to one’s “mental health” he/she can do it online. That way, there will be less “healing” (and deaths) needed from COVID-19.
I also want to thank H2S for focusing on online deals right now since we should be avoiding stores. This is a huge change to the H2S business (and a change for us who like to shop) but it is really doing the right thing. Thank you!
👍
Angie, just an FYI, all sanitizing products on amazon are for 1st responders only. When I ordered my items from target, they would NOT allow these sanitizing items to be shipped. I am NOT pay 10 to 15 bucks for meijers and woodmans to drop off my groceries when I am capable of doing so.
Um, no Lauren. Anyone that thinks they have the superiority to tell anyone else what they need, especially when it comes to mental health, is selfish and irresponsible. They should also probably see a therapist for narcissism (virtually, for now, of course).
And a voice of reason appears amidst the chaos!
As a mental healthcare professional, I would expect you to know that this isn’t “the flu,” so your entire post is dubious.
S/he should of probably typed ‘virus’ to placate others, but the point still stands.
This is more than the flu! This is far worse and killing people every single day. We are expected to be anywhere from 30k-200k deaths in the US by the time summer ends, so no this is not just the flu. If you need to socialize than have luncheon at your home with A friend. Not 20 people. You do not need to go to target and mosey through the aisles to make you feel better. As a person that has dealt with anxiety and depression there are other way to manage without risking the lives of immunocompromised, elderly, and high risk people. This virus is no longer affecting just these groups. We had a perfectly healthy 8 year old girl die in our community from covid 19 2 days ago. We have more cases locally of people under 40 than elderly. There was an infant that died in Chicago recently from covid 19. When you go out to browse the aisle for you own mental health and cross the paths of someone else trying to shop for essentials for their families, then you risk exposure. Too many people in one place is risky and going shopping for non essential items is putting people at even greater risks. Your actions can cause the death of someone else. My husband is an essential worker as a police officer. I have 4 kids and a 5th due in 4 weeks. The first time I left my home in 2.5 weeks was yesterday when we ran low on necessary items and I was a nervous wreck the entire time. I got what I couldn’t through in store pick up, left, washed my clothes and jumped in the shower. People are canceling weddings and birthday parties. Grandparents and siblings are being kept away from new babies coming home from the hospital to stop the spread. No one likes it. No ones wants it, but we must or more people will die. This is not just the flu and target isn’t a place to heal. You owe that much to our health care providers, our police officers, first responders, grocery workers, delivery drivers, etc. Who put their lives at risk and the lives of their families every single day to serve the community.
👏👏👏👏Yes!
Bless you for your post! The CDC just posted (on their official website) that this is very easily spread from someone that has no symptoms at all by simply talking (we release droplets you cant even see) hence the 3 feet…no one knows yet who will end up in the ICU or dead from this (so many younger people as you mentioned). I wish the media would announce this new information more! …and it amazes me how many people are SO selfish (and getting fake or outdates news from facebook, etc…)
Youre right it’s not “just the flu”.. this flu season alone has killed as much as 60,000 people in the US including 149 children. Not in a year, just this season alone.
In the meantime your immunsystem will decline because your are sheltering at home not exposed to any germs whatsoever. Then when you come out of your isolation you will see a spike in people getting sick.
This is much more serious than the flu
That small interaction can cost you or loved ones their life, this is very difficult for everyone mentally but our life and the life of family and friends take priority.
by this reasoning, you are saying the mental health of SOME people is more important than the physical health of ALL people, including those with mental health issues. mentally, everyone will be better off if the right precautions are enforced now in order to shorten the duration that this affects everybody.
also, there are excellent mental health services (for both medical issues and psychological therapy) available online from multiple providers that are actually cheaper and easier to get in than going into a provider’s office.
and, “small interaction” doesn’t have anything to do with having 50 people in a Target store browsing makeup and decorative pillows. you can get small interaction in meeting groups of 2-3 people outdoors or at your private residence.
When this is all over, I wouldn’t be surprised if there are as many deaths as a result of the crashing of the economy and strain on people’s lives (via suicides, missed diagnoses from not going to doctors appts, etc.) than from the virus itself. There are so many unintended consequences to shutting down a country for several months. Every person’s life and health are important, including people who have lost jobs and are at the end of their rope. This shaming of people who want to walk into Target for a few things is really frustrating me!
I totally agree with you 100%!!!! It’s amazing to me how much people have judgement for others and think they can shame them from behind their screens. It’s disgusting. Apparently shaming others is okay when there is a pandemic. I have noticed how rude and ugly people have been when in the grocery store. All this crap about lifting each other just doesn’t seem to be happening to me at all. At the end of it all, God is in control and many just don’t remember or seem to care about that at all.
I understand the point of being home (i’m in New York the worst of it happening here), but for some people staying home 24.7 will make them lose their minds in a hurry. Sometimes going out and doing some shopping helps.
It’s not just the virus….they are many other issues this virus is causing as well. People are literally losing their minds…especially when the warm weather hits…..
Kate, are you for real? People with your mind set are the ones making other people sick. I really hope you are not doing this also. Replies like this just makes me upset. People are getting sick and dying and the only way to stop this is if we all exercise public distancing and stay at home. The only reason why YOU should go out is if you need to buy food.
Trying to like your comment but it’s not working 🤷♀️
You’re right, people this are going to accidentally kill people.
The real health of people is more important than someones buying addiction.
Kudos on helping to flatten the curve!!!
Target should be curbside pickup only
I agree, but there are so many things that “unavailable for pick up” yet on the shelves when I go in, paper towels, for example.
Agree- I tried to get birthday decorations and easter candy- a bunch were not available for pick up but in stock in store. UGH- I don’t want to go in!!
Use what you have at home. Get creative. Most all kids know something that is normal is going on and if they don’t then they aren’t old enough to know when Easter is and you could get away with delaying Easter. Cut out carrots, eggs, bunny ears, or Hoppy Easter out of a cardboard box and paint them to look cute. Punch holes in the cardboard carrot after it is dry and tie a granola bar to the back of it and stick that in an old Easter basket or you could use small bucket, popcorn tub, cup or you could do the paper mache method on an old ball. You would need to use plastic wrap on the ball first though. You could reuse an old stuffed animal that your kids might not notice is missing and put that in the basket too. We all shop for deals so chances are you have stuff to use. If you have a gift closet go through it. You can gift your kids a board game and use a non-holiday specific gift wrap on it. The Easter bunny doesn’t always have to leave baskets. If you don’t have a plain wrapping paper use a Christmas one and have the Easter bunny leave a note saying that “with everything that is going on I am so confused, but by the time I realized it it was too late to change paper.” I have already made all of my kids’ Easter baskets. I used stuff I had. My kids are getting Christmas themed coloring books(after Christmas sales), crayons(back to school sales), bubbles(end of summer sales), bug catcher tubs(end of summer sales), spot it(after Christmas sales), octagonal jenga(on h2s about a month ago), dominoes(no idea which sale), hand sanitizers(after Christmas sale), tattoos(after Valentine’s day sales), I put a couple of fruits snacks from my pantry into plastic eggs, craft kits(varying after holiday sales), and no sew blanket kits(usually what I give as baby shower gifts so I always stock up when I see them for cheap). My point it there really is no need to go out and buy Easter stuff because that isn’t a necessity. For birthday decorations we do the same-reuse what we have. I also have gigantic rolls of banner paper and paints that the kids like use to paint signs.
Yes! I am so tired of seeing necessary items listed online as available in my local store but unavailable for pick up. Why is Target not encouraging more people to use drive up by making those items available?
I agree.. first of all if they only did online ordering they could control the toilet paper better as well. It’s like they want people to fight over the hot commodities!!
Me, too! I wish everything was curbside! I am considering a trip to Target to get some food items not available for pick up or delivery but I keep weighing how long I can get by before I HAVE to go.
It’s about time!
Glad to hear. I think even those who are not living under a shell and are asset, are still not adhering to the 6 foot (or 5 or 4 or 3) distancing
Thank you Target. People are still not taking this seriously so sad to see the ignorance around us. Thank you to all the people on the frontline. Prayers for all and let us flatten the curve people!!!!
The HEB down the street limits ten people at a time. The line outside is very long and they have the shoppers six feet apart. Then before you walk in they put antibacterial on your hands and spray your cart. Even if you’re wearing gloves. It’s VERY hot in my area but our community is trying to do our part. But there’s ALWAYS some people who feel that they are immune. Not the case. We’ve had infants test positive in the last two days.
The supermarkets need to do this. Both Shop Rite and Stop & Shop always have a lot of people shopping. They do not follow the 6 feet distance. I see bunch of people all bunched up in an aisle so I just avoid that aisle entirely.
I even heard a person cough in one of the aisles that was crowded. I don’t know if he covered his mouth but even if he did, his “germs” are in the air.
They should limit the number of people going in like Trader Joe’s does. I can’t believe that going to supermarket nowadays is considered hazardous/dangerous.
the cdc now has on their official website that they have determined that people can spread this by simply talking …even if they dont have any symptoms (have covid but are unaware because it effects people differently …they still dont know why) so thumbs up to your post
I think the biggest thing we can do aside from doing our part to not spread the coronavirus is to treat others with kindness. I have seen so much shaming of people on social media lately that it makes me so sad. We all have our own situations and circumstances that no one knows anything about. There are so many things not available for curbside pickup such as the prescription that I needed to pick up today from target and yes I did look in the home decor section today because I was waiting for the pharmacy to open. (I thought it opened at 8:30 but when I got there it didn’t open til 9). I’m sure I got some questioning looks as to why I was looking in the home decor section at this particular time. Be kind people and don’t judge others when you don’t know their whole situation.
Thank you so much for stating this and I agree the shaming has reached a new level. As an essential worker I can only shop at certain times and with unstable work hours pick up is not an option for me right now. I would love to be at home sheltered in place, but for some that is not an option. Be kind you never know what someone is going through.
I agree with you 100%. Fear makes people so mean.
I agree. The people who are saying their out cause they’re bored though I think that’s what’s leaving some people feeling irritated. And there are plenty, I work retail and have heard it
Completely agree with all this!
YES! The people in our local facebook groups are SO nasty to each other!
I agree. Perhaps people should choose to mind their own business instead of passing judgement on others whose lives they know nothing about. I went to Target yesterday and bought a birthday banner for my child. We can’t have a party, but I wanted to do something to help make it special. Was the banner essential? No, but but it made his day a little better. It seems ironic that in our quest to keep people from dying we are trying to keep people from living.
My daughter has her birthday in three days and she agrees it is more reasonable to celebrate it at a later time, it’s also a way to teach a child responsibility.
…once her child is infected with COVID19? Wow. I really hope that doesn’t happen to her child or yours.
I believe there is a fine line between being reckless and being fearful. I am trying my best to be neither. You do you. Stay safe!
I really don’t understand why we have to sink so low and be mean. Everyone has their own opinion and we are not all going to agree. But to say that? Not cool
This is ridiculous
Right? Right? People on here are being so nasty!
the CDC now has it on their website that this can be spread by so much easier by asymptomatic people than they thought …and just by TALKING if youree closer than 6 feet. Maybe we need to get that message out…and YES people …young helthy people and babies are dying from this too!
the CDC is full of crap. They will have the patent on a vaccine soon, sell it to everyone and make billions. They already own over 20 patents which is a conflict of intrest. One is the flu vaccine and they promote this one very heavily. Don’t trust the CDC. They in for the money.
I can see both sides of this, but why risk getting your kid and family sick to do something special? Imo if you really want to make it special make your own banner. If you don’t have banner paper use copy paper. Put 1 letter on each paper and maybe color each letter in with a different design/color. Use rubber stamps/stickers on them too. Use ribbon to tie them all together or tape them to the wall to say Happy Birthday Ryan. Everyone with kids has paper, crayons, and tape. You could have also asked friends/neighbors to each make cards and stick them in your mailbox. Right now, all we have is time so take advantage of it. Kids tend to remember experiences more than they do material things.
Really well said Momma, making your own things with your family is the most important these are the things they will remember growing up.
Mrs. J, have you thought about the fact that you’ve made the lives of the essential workers a little worse by increasing the # of people they’re exposed to every day for a frivolous reason? Normally I am all for you-do-you, but not in this situation when our choices have such rippling consequences for other people.
I agree with you that we shouldn’t let the fear of this disease overwhelm our lives, but we must acknowledge that this disease is straining our healthcare system and many of our essential services, so if we can do our little part to help by staying home, we should!
My mother works in one of the largest hospital networks in our state, and they are very close to reaching capacity already, but COVID-19 cases in our state are still going up by 1000s each day. My mother’s department has already re-scheduled all non-emergent procedures to reduce the number of people coming into the hospital.
It is CRUCIAL for people to avoid going into stores for non-essential reasons so that we can flatten the infection curve. Chances are if you and I get the disease, we will most likely be fine, but we will pass it to someone else, who’ll spread it to more people, and some of these people will get seriously sick, need to be hospitalized, and may die.
Our state went from 0 to 10,000+ cases in 3 weeks…COVID19 infections spread rapidly if we don’t all pitch in to help stop the infection.
I agree, Mags. You don’t know what people are going through in their homes so I don’t think anyone should judge. If I were in a store like Target and wanted to look at home decor, I would do it and not care what anyone had to say.
Someone just told me yesterday that they don’t know how they will handle being cooped up at home because going to the store (and work!) is their therapy. I get that because of their family situation. Everybody doesn’t have the perfect life. I just really pray that we will flatten the curve so that incidences of this horrible disease will decline and we can get back to whatever the new normal will be. I hope that of you are staying safe and healthy and wish you all all the best.
I feel like people are making excuses just to be out at the stores. If they don’t know what to do then they need to find a hobby and quick. It is not fair to those of us following orders and doing our part meanwhile John down the street hangs out at Walmart daily spreading the virus. The sooner we all start following orders and staying the sooner things will get back to normal. How do people not understand that? By you being out shopping to stay sane it extends how long we have to stay home.
I feel for people who are struggling mentally with being cooped up at home but retail workers didn’t sign up to be “therapy”. We worry about our health and our families health everyday we go to work. I wish more people would consider that.
This!!!!
Yess!! People can’t seem to see beyond themselves or their own families. Their irresponsible choices put others, especially essential workers, at risk in this situation!
Hope you and your family stay safe. Thank you for helping to keep our essential services running.
Girl, if people are giving you looks, call them on it. I’m sick of how everyone thinks they belong to the Stasi now. Unless there’s some egregious behavior occurring, everyone needs to mind their own damn business. If I need to take my kid out shopping because I don’t have someone at home to watch her, I don’t owe anyone an explanation. I wish these miserable people would hole up at home as much as they claim they are, yet incredibly they always seem to have eyes everywhere to catch everyone else doing something “wrong” so they can talk about it on social media.
I like you Rochelle Mcgee! 😉
They need to make more items available for store pick up only. This would help. If you get a stock of 100, reserve 30%-50% of it for pick up only. They should also temporarily move the popular essential items upfront. It is not the best solution, but it is a start.
A lot of stores have moved the most popular items to the front – water, cleaning supplies, etc.
Items that show up available online but not available for pickup is because the quantity is low enough that if an employee went to pull it for the order chances are quite high, it may already be in someone else’s cart. Online stock is not updated instantaneously.
This is exactly it. Also, our current system doesn’t allow for us to put stuff aside. If things keep up then they might have time to create a new system but I bet they won’t have time to do that.
You can thank greedy online shoppers for that.. target didn’t start limiting online orders until online shoppers started mass ordering and placing multiple orders to avoid the in store limits placed. It’s really disappointing, but too hard to monitor online orders the same way they do in stores.
I work in order pick up at target here in North Carolina. Just to give everyone a better understanding- each store works pickup orders and shipment orders. At any given time, we have 5-15 workers rushing around the store filling carts with peoples orders. Each cart includes anywhere from 15-40 items. An average cart takes 30 minutes. If you do the math, that’s A LOT of stuff each hour going out the door. The computer systems only update every so often. This is why things are listed as unavailable unless there is sufficient quantity to reasonably meet the order 3-4 hours out. Hope this helps! As a side note, please be kind to your order pickers, packers, and trunk tossers. We’re working our tails off, breaking a sweat, and literally running to keep up with the orders. We’re just as frustrated as you when we have to hit the dreaded “cancel an item” button. (And we get scored on items not found and have our percentages posted on the wall in the warehouses😬)
This, so much this! I work at Target as well and we are working so hard to try to make everyone as happy as possible in the best way possible.
This is a real question and not meant to be snarky. How is Target able to supply disposable masks for every employee on every shift when hospitals are having shortages of disposable masks for their employees who are directly caring for people who are known to have the virus?
Fair question!
I wondered the same. I work in a clinic and we have to use one mask for the whole week unless it becomes too soiled.
The masks Target are providing are not N95 masks..My best guess are probably surgical type coverings. They do provide some protection. However N95 masks are a higher grade for the things a healthcare worker might encounter.
My hospital is asking for donations of cloth handmade masks, so yes surgical masks are needed for healthcare facilities as well as respirators, which are the N95. We even have people collecting left over paper wrappings to make masks with!
I’m not sure where they are planning to get the masks either as they recalled all masks on our trucks in stores in order to send them to hospitals. I did notice that it said they have 2 weeks to figure it out. They spent a few billion extra dollars above the normal at the beginning of this ordering essentials and those are starting to come in so it might be through that.
I went grocery shopping on Wednesday for the first time in 2 weeks… Aldi and then Target (for things I couldn’t get at Aldi). I felt SO much safer at Target than any grocery store. There are were hardly any people in the store, they had marked sanitized carts for people, several employees were wearing masks, no lines at checkout, and the cashiers were closing their lanes after each customer to spray and wipe everything down… the belts, credit card machine, etc. I was so impressed at the lengths they were going to. No one in my Target was shopping for anything other than essentials and I saw maybe 10 other people the entire time I was in there!
let me preface this by putting all my business out there. i suffer from crippling anxiety. my daughter has aspergers and crippling anxiety. my husband has bi polar with severe depression and aspergers and ADHD. You can’t even imagine that combination and what dealing with his ups and downs does to our mental health. he is working from home. it is hard. but my morale and mental health is not as important as the physical health of stopping the spread of this virus. this is a global pandemic. my mental health and the mental health of my family is a real issue but how selfish and ugly for people to say that their starbucks run or target decor shopping is needed for their mental health. online shop. take a walk in your back yard. take your meds. eat a healthy dinner. read a funny story. squeeze your cat. facetime your loved ones. take a nap. take a bath. chat with your therapist. play a game. you know what is horrified for mental health? a rising death toll. stay in your house!!!!!!!!!!!
I appreciate you opening up like this. This whole situation is hard on all of us, mental illness or not. We just have to find a way to cope AT HOME! I hope you and your family are safely dealing at home and if something arises please do reach out. Now is the time for us to be there for one another. People that are out because they are bored or because it helps keep them sane are being very selfish. If you need to get out of the house, which I think is normal for all of us to want to do, go for a walk around your neighborhood. We are under stay at home orders, but going out for a walk is still allowed. What authorities and medical officials don’t want is for us to be out in groups spreading the virus, knowingly or not. Go for a walk if you feel you need to get out, bit don’t stop at your neighbor’s house to socialize. If you feel the need to socialize on your walk call a friend and talk on the phone during your whole walk. It’s not fair that most people understand and are staying home meanwhile a certain few are out at the stores daily. They may have the virus and no symptoms meanwhile they are spreading it to so many people. No one is better than anyone else. We are all equals and should act accordingly, STAY HOME! Thank you to everyone that is out there working hard and putting their health and life at risk every day. Maybe once this is all over with people can come together to show grocery store employees that we appreciate them. I specified them because I think they are most at risk in my opinion. They deal with so many people daily and who knows how many are infected with the virus.
I love what you said! Wishing you and your family health and happiness!
Bless you. May you stay safe and well until this subsides.
Let’s all watch some deep breathing exercises on YouTube ok? It’s been worse in humanity’s history and it will get better. Let’s just all remember to be our brothers keeper for now…
As for Target, Good for them!!! They are doing it the right way (ahem, not the Menard’s way) once again the solution to pollution is dilution 😀 (carbs/fiber as well as COVID/square footage)
There are people who financially need to shop for themselves and not through online sources. My husband has been out of work for 1 year 6 months (but who’s counting). We’ve had no paychecks for 1 year and 6 months.
Financially, we cannot afford the grocery markups that stores apply to online grocery shopping. I cannot limit my shopping to one store as we need every dime we can save. If we had an income, I’d be doing my grocery shopping online.
Our grandparents were drafted and HAD TO go fight a war. This is our war! The only way to fight it is to STAY HOME as much as possible. We can do this!
I really don’t think that is an appropriate comparison…
I think that is her point, those generations did so much and so much was asked of them. We are not being asked to do a lot, just stay home. I surprised so many people here don’t see the importance of that, but I am relieved that most do and are going their part. Thank you to those who are trying to flatten the curve, from the bottom of my heart. My husband, a physician, is moving into temporary housing on Monday, at a cost to us of $1500 per month, to keep our family from bring inflected. He has to go out to say lives, be thankful you do not.
Yes, you understand what I mean. My point is our elders were called upon to go fight in wars and they did so. We are literally being called upon to just stay home and some people can’t do it. We aren’t being called upon to do anything physically demanding or against our values yet people can’t do it. If our elders could go off and fight in wars, then we can stay home. Also, the war saying was a play on the president saying we are at war with the virus. Btw, has your husband looked into Airbnb? I think there was a post on them offering free housing for people in the medical field. I don’t know specifics, but I would look into it if I were you. If that doesn’t work maybe try posting on Facebook, maybe someone has an empty rental property that they would let your husband use at a low or seriously reduced rate. It doesn’t hurt to try. Thank you and your family for the sacrifices you are making. It can’t be easy to be away from your husband in these uncertain times. May your husband return to you and your family safe and sound once this is all over🙏
😂
bless you. my.mom and dad were both active in world war I and the depression. my father is deceased but my 96 year old mother is still alive. She said people used to sacrifice for the good of others and now so many are so selfish and dont know the difference between want and need…then she teared up…
Aww. Thank your mom for her service. I agree with what she said. It truly is sad. I can see how things changed though. We all want our kids to have a better life than we did growing up. Maybe in wanting that people have spoiled their kids to the point where they feel entitled to things. Maybe all of this will help us change and be more self aware and teach kids more simplistic ways.
As a Shipt shopper – YAY! We are out shopping for multiple families at a time. It scares me when I see whole families just meandering around the store.
Yes this is a real issue. It’s suppose to be get in and out of the stores. It’s inconsiderate to people who have to be working in these stores to be exposed to extra people for longer then needed cause people are bored
I kill a few birds with one stone. Yes I shop at Target, I’ve had to get “non essential “ items on the past few weeks. I have a husband working from home. A kid doing school at home too. We went through a bunch of printer paper, we normally don’t use it that often. I had to get printer ink, and other school supplies. The thing is I got it when I was already at Target while I was picking up prescriptions. My son is on 2 controlled substance prescriptions, that aren’t filled at the same time and. Ant be picked up early or given extra. So I get whatever i need while I’m getting my prescriptions. I get food there as well, plus diapers, wipes and cleaning wipes. I’m not willy nilly browsing, I’m getting what my family needs to eat, work and do school.
Gosh.. I can’t believe theses comments?? Let’s not be haters to one another.
Let’s get along, and not spew such awful comments.
We’re all still part of this planet, let’s get along please.
Makes me really sad to see this going on hip2save community.
Help me now. This is ridiculous.
Yes but we best not to judge. I was browsing the toy aisle on Monday for potty training reinforcers for my toddler and activities for my older son. Not everything is available for pick up so best not to judge.
Was it available online? Like Amazon?
The needs of one person are not the same as another person. Just because you don’t think it is essential doesn’t mean someone else want. Until you have been in someone else’s shoes you don’t know. Lets not judge.
Good, because the only way people will actually listen is by forcing them to. Honestly if takes the national guard patrolling the streets and handing out stiff fines and penalties to people breaking lock down I say go for it. I’ve seen crowded beaches, people throwing paties, swanning around like its nothing meanwhile putting themselves and everyone else in danger. I saw it’s time to enforce these measures. Our entire state is shutdown, we cannot even cross the state line, but it took weeks and many cases/deaths to get to this point unfortunately.
Wow. Thank God for the constitution.
It’s not ideal, but a last resort when other measures fail. The constitution supports the idea of martial law in the right circumstances, such as an invasion, or concerns of public safety. The precedent in the United States holds that under it, “certain civil liberties may be suspended, such as the right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures, freedom of association, and freedom of movement. And the writ of habeas corpus [the right to a trial before imprisonment] may be suspended”. The suspension of habeas corpus is mentioned in Article 1, Section 9, and the activation of the militia in time of rebellion or invasion is mentioned in Article 1, Section 8.
The right to survive prevails, you may not be a great risk but a lot of people are
They need go give these ignorant people a ticket fined them with big $$ and put them in Jail. that’s the only way to stop these ignorant people.
And I am done. I used to love this community. It used to make me happy. I enjoyed the posts and the friendly attitudes on here. But now that we are in a time of tragic proportion, we find the need to divide ourselves on a group where we should be sharing steals and deals??!! Really??? If I want this, I can just scroll through my FB feed and fight with others of opposite views, which is why I don’t go on there much any more anyways! I didn’t need to see this tonight and see the ugliness of others and their judgement. Comments should be strictly about the topic and not directed towards others. It really angers me, but if these are the kinds of people in this community, I will gladly step away and find a safer, much more kind and respectful community of “steals and deals” people..remember, that’s the ONLY reason we are all in this community!!
Well spoken. And I agree with you. Stay safe everyone.
Good for them! They are protecting both their customer’s and employee’s lives. May God bless them, and all of us—every one. This is a scary time, but we really are all in this together. Arguments divide us.
I have to admit I leave my house at least once a day. I go to my brother’s house for dinner and then I drive around. I’ve even gone to a drive-thru for food and to the gas station about 3 weeks ago. I’ve been working remotely and selfishly needed some face to face interaction and a relaxing drive.
I thought I was practicing social distancing and helping flatten the curve. But after reading all the comments, I realized I’m not.
before head to store, people should make a list what they need to buy, get done quick and get out. keep social distance from others. I hate people keep run to me too close, i’m Asian, and people need to use common sense, if they are start get to close to me, i will go other direction, they’re careless what happen around them. please do not go to store and hang out, that’s not safe for you and others.
I used go shop in-store @ target and cvs alots, now i have to stay at home. this is only stop virus expose to your family and others. I have lots of cvs extra buck are expired now. but that’s ok. better be safe and sorry.
I work at an essential business that sells food,Medicine, clothing, electronics, etc…I am also very appreciative to medical professionals, law enforcement, and all first responders. However there is a complete disregard by many people about going to the store. I have seen people coming in wearing scrubs and this scares me. Either you are coming in before you go to work contaminating your scrubs or after work full of the contamination. Please keep the scrubs at work and street clothes for shopping. Also those shopping and talking on the phone about how awful you feel and that you might have a fever we can hear you. You are not in a sound proof bubble and it scares us. Please consider others as we are just trying to work and provide everyone with the supplies they need.
My Target in Miami, Florida is not limiting the amount of people that go in. I had to go grocery shopping today because during the week there is homeschooling, which by the way is driving me crazy (I was not born to be a teacher : )! hats off to all amazing teachers out there! )and it was pretty empty. they even had Microban disinfectant and clorox disinfecting floor cleaner pads, only one of each per customer.
