WHAT ARE DASH BUTTONS?
Amazon Dash Button is a Wi-Fi connected device that reorders your favorite product with the press of a button. Each Dash Button is paired with a product of your choice, which is selected during the set-up process. When you’re running low, simply press Dash Button—ensuring you never run out of your essentials again.
Order Protection keeps you from getting unwanted orders!
With this setting, Dash Button will not place a new order until your prior order is delivered—regardless of how many times Dash Button is pressed. You will also receive an order notification for every order placed and you can cancel orders at any time before they are marked as “Shipping Soon”.

I think this concept would be helpful for our aging parents and older adults that can’t drive or have difficulty shopping, etc. For example, the dog food dash button is perfect for my mother-in-law. She can’t walk around in a store anymore and has trouble lifting items. She is not tech savvy enough to order online but we can set this up in her house for her to push when she needs dog food!
I think the idea is that you can place the button right near where you use the item, so that right when you realize you’re low/need it, you can press it to order so that you don’t forget. I often realize I need something in the moment, only to get distracted and forget about it shortly thereafter.
Does the credit only work for the item that the dash button is for?
Works for anything sold by Amazon.com
Thanks for explaining the Dash button. I’ve always wondered how they work.
You’re welcome Lori!
Try to keep track of your Amazon promotions. I earn the $10 toy promotion and it didn’t come off when I placed additional toy orders. I had to chat and get a refund
Do you have to order at least once per button to get the credit or just order the buttons and the credit comes?
You have to make an order and then you get the credit. HTH
Seems like an invasion of privacy with everything nowadays.
How is it an invasion of privacy? You don’t have to push the button if you don’t want to. It just allows you to place an order for something quickly and easily. The button doesn’t record anything.
Agreed.
I’ve always wanted to try these out! Nothing to loose on this deal! Thanks…
You’re so welcome!
Thank you! Got my three buttons and paid for them with points. What a bargain! 🙂
Sweet! You’re welcome Beth!
I’m still confused, how do you know the amount that you will pay for the item when you need it?
I haven’t used one so hopefully someone confirms but I think it is like the subscribe and save where they send you an email confirming the order and price. They give you a day or two to cancel otherwise it is automatically filled.
So that’s the drawback on these – you don’t. I don’t know how much time they give you to review, but I’ve heard people say that they’re always running to the computer to check the price after they hit the button to make sure it’s something they want to pay.
Hi! I have about six dash buttons for things that I prefer to buy on Amazon and use them occasionally (oddly, we use the wonderful pistachios button more than we should!). When you program your button, you choose the product of the ones available for the button. You can view the price before you order (for example, when items that you have dash buttons for go on sale, you can apply the first-time credit for really great deal). Once you press, the green light on the button confirms that your order is submitted. You have at least 30 mins to cancel the order. HTH.
I placed a order for the dash buttons. I’m always ordering something from amazon so seems like a great deal to me. Does anyone know how to locate prime pantry credit on your account? When given a option I always pick the 1 pantry credit but don’t know where to find that credit. Thanks in advance😊
Hi Kim! Be sure to check over here: https://hip2save.com/2017/04/15/amazon-prime-members-do-you-have-no-rush-credits-waiting-to-be-used/

I have the student prime. Is that why my discount isnt reflected at the end?
Hey there Latisha! So you are not getting 2 free at checkout when you add 3 to your cart?
No, I do not.
Darn! I am wondering if the offer is only available for those with a Paid Prime Subscription.
This is the kind of junk that is soon fodder for the landfill. Really bad for the environment. Why do manufacturers generate this stuff? Just say no.
