Here’s How to Score a FREE Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, & More w/ Ibotta’s Thanksgiving Offers

However, this year comes with a new twist! You’ll need to choose whether you want to earn free sides or a free turkey, and then complete bonuses to unlock your free Thanksgiving offers. If it seems a little confusing, you’re not alone! Check out Hip Sidekick Rachel’s explanation…

To get started, just open your Ibotta app and you’ll see a pop-up to begin the Thanksgiving offer. You can choose between starting with the Turkey bonus or the sides bonus. Note that the number of redemptions needed to unlock each separate offer will vary by user.
Once you complete your first bonus offer, the second will be unlocked so you have the opportunity to earn BOTH bonus offers!
To complete your bonuses, you’ll need to redeem a certain number of Ibotta rebates by November 22nd. Each rebate needs to be a unique rebate, and offers that are redeemed more than once in the same transaction will only count one time. Once you’ve unlocked the bonus, you’ll then receive offers for completely FREE Thanksgiving items after cash back!

- $14.35 back on any Turkey Roast (limit 1) – free after cash back
- $1.60 back on Idahoan Mashed Potatoes (limit 1) – free after cash back

- $2.65 back on Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce (limit 1) – free after cash back
If you prefer to shop using Walmart’s Grocery Pick-Up or delivery options, just be sure to link your Walmart Online account inside your Ibotta app before making your purchase. Once your accounts are linked, you’ll automatically get cash back for your purchases as long as you’ve added the offers to your Ibotta account before making your purchase.
If shopping in-store, be sure to complete your purchase and upload your receipt as soon as possible as sometimes offers can expire before you redeem them.
Note that all freebie offers are limited to one redemption per Ibotta account. If you already have your family’s meal planned, or just want to give back to your community, consider donating these ingredients to your local food bank or using your cash back to make a donation to a local charity.

Any thoughts on how to find the offer if you don’t see it? It was originally on there when I opened the app, but the app immediately shut down. I reopened the app and I cannot find the offer anywhere. I uninstalled and reinstalled with no luck doing that either. So very sad! 🙁
Hey Melissa! On my Ibotta app, there’s banners that rotate at the top of the screen every 5-10 seconds. I’m also able to “swipe” to the next one to go through them more quickly. One of those shows the Thanksgiving offer on my end, that you can click on for all the offer details. Hoping it might be the same for you! 🤞🦃
I had tried that already multiple times, but it didn’t get me anywhere. I closed out the app and ended up checking back about 30 minutes later and it was there when I opened it, so all is well. So frustrating as I’d hate to miss this great offer.

You are right. I remember I got a free turkey one or two years ago. There were no conditions for the free turkey. I used to use ibotta a lot, now I used it once in a while. I even forget to use it now sometimes, since you lose much more time that you can earn
Once you choose which offer you want to complete first. It states that “the offers could take up to 2 hours to appear”. Just fyi in case people aren’t seeing them immediately.
Not that I’ll be able to complete & redeem anything as if previous years are anything to go by, the few specific free items have been out of stock at the store by the time I’ve qualified.

No you need to do whatever ibotta rebates on the app that you want to hit the number required to unlock. Once unlocked then you get the sides or turkey that you unlocked. Then you get to do the other bonus if you want.
How do you complete bonuses to submit if they are locked?
It seems you can choose which offer you’d like to work towards. You’ll need to complete so many redemptions. This can vary by account. Once you complete your first bonus offer, the second will be unlocked. Hoping that’s more helpful! 💞🤗
This is ridiculous.. Unlocking “unique” offers just to get a free can of Cranberry, etc. Good luck searching the app to see what your unique offers are. Very confusing, but thanks for the offer.

By unique they just mean individual offers- for example, you can’t get credit for 3 macaroni & cheese boxes you bought, just 1 and so on. It’s actually not at all confusing.

Does anyone know if a turkey breast roast qualifies for the deal, since it’s pictured in this post? Or does it need to be an entire turkey roast?
If you’re looking for good ibotta deals to unlock these offers, look for good multiple offers. This week, Kroger family of stores have Light+Fit zero sugar yogurt for $1.69 with 50 cents off each WYB 6. I have an ibotta offer for 75 cents, up to 5 uses. That’s 44 cents each after rebate, and you use 5 offers.

I’m pretty sure if you use one rebate 5 times it still only counts as one offer toward your specified amount.
By the way, if a new person signs up for ibotta, they will get the free turkey and the sides added to their account without needing to unlock them.

It’s like impossible for me to get anyone to join Ibotta . I think people don’t understand that it’s real even though I show them how much money I have saved over the years.

Curious I have not used Ibotta in a year. I vaguely remember something about them charging per month if you do not use their service. So this probably means anything I would save would go towards that deficit I am assuming. If that’s the case, I will prolly pass as I would have to spend to meet all the redemptions, and usually I just buy generic and my usually at the stores that have rock bottom prices.

I tried to cash out my Ibotta earnings. I had to get a number code at my email address to sign in. After that I needed a code sent to my email address to prove it was my email address. I never received a code and I checked my spam and junk email nothing. I will contact Ibotta tomorrow to find out what went wrong. Any body else have any problems cashing out? And 4 or 5 years ago Walmart and Ibotta partnered to give everyone a free Thanksgiving dinner. After that every year they want you to purchase more than the year before to get a turkey. Still I love Ibotta
