NEW Kohl’s Rewards Visa Will Replace Your Kohl’s Credit Card (Here’s What to Know!)
The new Kohl’s Rewards Visa will be hitting mailboxes soon!
Are you a Kohl’s credit card holder? A new Kohl’s Rewards Visa will be mailed to you to replace your existing card. This new Kohl’s Rewards Visa can be used beginning September 16th and it comes with a few perks you’ll want to know about!
Once you receive your card in the mail, mark your calendar for September 16th to activate it (while you wait, you can use your existing card as normal). You can activate your card by calling 844-207-1799.
Once activated, you can use your new Kohl’s Rewards Visa ANYWHERE that Visa is accepted! 🙌
*Note – Not all cardholders will receive a new Kohl’s Rewards® Visa, some may receive a newly branded Kohl’s Credit Card.
You’ll receive the following perks when using your new Kohl’s Rewards Visa card:
- 7.5% in rewards when buying from Kohl’s.
- 3% in rewards on gas.
- 2% in rewards at grocery stores.
- 1% in rewards everywhere else that Visa is accepted.
Here are the changes you need to be aware of:
- After September 16th, you may use your new card anywhere Visa is accepted!
- You are getting a new Kohl’s card number. If your card is currently saved as a payment on your Kohl’s account, the card number will be automatically updated.
- Capital One will handle your online servicing and your AutoPay and Paperless settings transfer automatically.
- On September 16th, you must enroll in your new online account at Kohls.capitalone.com.
Here’s what will stay the same:
- You may enjoy exclusive cardholder discounts and receive a special anniversary offer each year.
- Redeeming Kohl’s Rewards! Your Rewards balance will be converted and issued in $5 Kohl’s Cash increments on the first day of the following month, valid for 30 days.
- There is no annual fee.
- Your MVC status (Most Valued Customer) remains the same.
- If you spend $600 a year at Kohl’s, you can still become an MVC.
For more information on the changes, visit the Kohl’s Rewards Card information page.
Not thrilled about this, I don’t need another Visa card. I prefer having a store specific card.
Same here….
Same Here . I all ready have a visa card don’t need other
It’s the same concept you just aren’t restricted to using it only at Kohl’s. Which is better.
Yes your right you can use it anywhere but people don’t know is the interest rate is higher with this card
I was worried I was losing my mvp status. Glad that isn’t the case.
Might be time to say buh-bye.
If you’re smart, you continue to write only at Kohl’s. The interest will take away from the deals if you mismanage this one. Kohl’s cash are already difficult it keep up and a loss when you forget.
The kly upside would be if they include something like Chase were you can choose a promotion for a period of time. Let’s say you spend $200 you can place that on a payment plan for 6 months at no interest. I’m hoping for this but I hope people stay savvy. ❤️
not great…
Does Costco count as a Grocery Store?
It seems it will be valid to use, anywhere Visa is accepted. 💖
Not excited as well. I wonder if the interest percentages will stay the same as well?
Hi Ashlei! I did find this in the FAQ if helpful! –
“What will change about my due date, payments or interest rates?
Please see the Change in Terms letter you received in the mail from Capital One for more information regarding your account. You may call 888-647-1712 starting September 16 for any questions. Your first Capital One statement will also contain this information.”
I heard the interest rate is way higher with the new card, I just got the card and there is no extra information like you always get when getting a new card telling you about the interest rates
31% intrest. I am not happy. Also, I had a higher credit limit with the Kohl’s card and this one is only 300. Why would I do that? That’s ridiculous. I’ve never been late on Kohls. I’ve had colds for eight or nine years and they lowered my thing and I have excellent credit.
Is capital one going to rerun our credit ?
Hi there, Melissa! I’m not finding any information on this when looking through the FAQ’s. I did find this number that you can call to ask additional questions if you’d like to reach out – 855-564-5748 ❤️
You should have noted that this does NOT apply to all Kohls card holders. Only select few are being switched to rewards Visa.
Thanks for the heads up, Shannon! 🤗 We’ll keep watch for any further updates on this!
It’s not an update. It is what the capital one Kohl’s rewards Visa site tells you. Thea on the exact words they use on their site FAQ page.
No. Not all cardholders will receive a new Kohl’s Rewards® Visa, some may receive a newly branded Kohl’s Credit Card.
Sorry for any confusion! I’ve added a note to the post with this information! ❤️
Did anyone else reject the new terms via phone (as Kohl’s required), then call to ensure the Kohl’s credit account was closed and STILL get the Capital One Visa in the mail?
I have enough credit card accounts and don’t want to earn Kohl’s cash through my Visa. I opened my Kohl’s account over 20 years ago, in order to use their cardholder exclusive promotions. I don’t want to risk a credit hit with this new card. This process has soured me towards Kohl’s entirely.
I can’t believe they’ve ignored their legal obligation to cancel my account!
So sorry to hear about that. ❤️Thanks for the update! Maybe reach out to customer service. Hoping they may be able to help! ❤️
Unfortunately they seem to follow a set script and weren’t very helpful. I’ll have to wait and watch my credit report closely. Hopefully I’m alone in this scenario! That 31% interest, compounded daily isn’t something I want to risk.
Thanks for the update. Hoping it is resolved for you soon to have peace of mind. ❤️
I had to make several calls. To opt out call 844.391.1736
Why is Kohl’s doing this? I thought store cards were less expensive for the store. What’s in it for them?
Hi Roger! Here’s what I spotted in the FAQ’s, if it may be helpful –
Why are you changing my Kohl’s Card to a Kohl’s Rewards® Visa?
We’re always looking for ways to enhance your Kohl’s Card experience. The new Kohl’s Rewards Visa offers greater flexibility in where you can use your card and more rewards earning power. Your new card still gives you all the perks and rewards you love, with updates to how you manage your card and enhanced card management features from Capital One.
DO NOT WANT THIS VISA,IF I CAN NOT HAVE MY OLD CARD BACK I WILL PAY OFF MY ACCOUNT,NEW CARD IS ALREADY SHREDDED
Same here. Shredded. I am furious that I received an unsolicited credit card. I thought this was illegal.
Sorry but l will not be using my new card. Why did you do that? I don’t need another Credit Card. So know your losing people. Please bring back the Old Card,
This is illegal, or should be (possible fine print) (the large print giveth, the fine print taketh away). It seems Capitol One takes over Kohl’s finance department and collectables, transferring current accounts payable to a higher interest rate CARD. My wife has made a $300 and an $100 payment to Kohls in the last three weeks, then tonight she found a $21.61 late charge on our balance to Kohls. We never activated the NEW card, but have to talk with Capitol One about late fee and we have never received a bill!?!? Then talking to them, and trying to just shut down and pay off the remaining balance (approx.$200) she was asked if she wanted him to take it out of a Wells Fargo account. And he had the account number they had gotten from Kohl’s. I guess just forcing people to deal with a new bank card, (oh yeah, the first wind we heard we were selected for this new card, selected, right). I’m about to get a sign and camp out on their doorstep in protest. Seriously we need a law firm to get a class action suit started, I ain’t big on lawyers but this not a way to treat customers. The sales men at Capitol One must be real good cause squeezing in a middle man has to include more profit from customers. Ex customers here, see ya!
Crickets…okay then
The new card caused a hard hit om my credit report. Not happy!!!!! And I don’t need or want another visa card
with high interest rates.
