Cheesy pull-apart sliders with ground beef and special sauce as a delicious copycat Big Mac-inspired meal.
Ingredients
for the sliders:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced, reserved
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 24 mini rolls (Such as Hawaiian rolls)
- 12 slices American cheese
- 1/2 cup sliced dill pickle chips
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- shredded lettuce *optional for serving
for the Big Mac sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons sweet relish
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
Directions
1
Heat a skillet on the stove to medium heat. Crumble and brown the ground beef alongside the onions. Reserve 2 tablespoons of chopped onion for the sauce. Drain the fat. Season your meat with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
2
Mix the ingredients for the copycat Big Mac sauce together using a bowl or jar.
3
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut the rolls in half lengthwise while keeping them connected. Place the bottom portions on a sheet pan.
4
Spread the sauce on the bottom of the rolls. Add the ground beef mixture to the rolls and spread evenly. Add the pickles, followed by the cheese slices. Put the top of the rolls back on. Bake in the oven until the cheese is melted, about 15 minutes.
5
Remove from the oven and brush the tops with melted butter. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top. Add shredded lettuce if desired before serving if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
Tips for making homemade copycat Big Mac Sliders:
- The copycat Big Mac sauce is my favorite part! Consider doubling it to have extra for dipping. Yum!
- I forgot to buy a jar of mayonnaise at the store and made some super quick using an immersion blender and jar. Homemade mayo is so EASY to whip up and tastes great. Check out this mayo recipe from Hip2Keto.com.
- I bought shredded lettuce to add before serving and then totally forgot to add it! LOL, I think that would have added some nice crunch.
- If you happen to NOT be a fan of the Big Mac, I would just use the type of cheese and burger topping you enjoy. This would be easy to customize to taste! I think adding chopped bell peppers and provolone cheese would be another yummy version.
This homemade Big Mac sliders recipe will be the hit of your next party!
Bring a tray of these delicious sliders, and I promise you’ll be the hero. I love an easy-to-make sandwich idea everyone can enjoy. All of these flavors and textures really do taste like a Big Mac. My kids were big fans of this and I know yours will be too!
Check out what my teammate Jenna had to say after making these cheeseburger sliders for her family:
“There is nothing I crave more often than a Big Mac. We are trying to eat at home more often, so this super fun recipe couldn’t have come at a better time! I love how easy this was to throw together! It made the perfect Sunday lunch for the whole fam. The kids all agreed, these are “Super Big Mac-y”, and I totally agree! I’m saving this recipe forever!”
My family would love these! Thank you for sharing this recipe! I will definitely give these a try sometime soon!
Oh good! Enjoy
YUM! Can’t wait to try these!
Just a hint; Walmart sells something called Secret Sauce. It’s identical to Big Mac sauce. I use it on everything LOL. Would be perfect for these.
Oh, that would be yummy on these! Enjoy! 🍔 🤗
We love the Walmart Secret Sauce too, I just wish the dates on the bottles were longer, generally only good a month or so when we buy them so we end up wasting so many bottles.
When I buy one it doesn’t last long LMAO! I use it for homemade animal fries (In N Out clone) and other things.
I made your chicken parm sliders for a Christmas party, and they were a huge hit. I wished I had used a little more sauce (totally my fault), but they were still so good. Best appetizer for a hungry crowd!
WOW! I love hearing this! So yummy. Thanks for sharing!
Brilliant 👏 My teens love Big Macs (and of course the special, silly adult happy meals they occasionally have). This will be great for home. My hubs loves the Big Mac salad with dressing I can make to keep within his diet.
Thanks for commenting, Ashley! Hoping these are a hit with your teens and the salad is a hit for your husband! ❤️
Thxs! I’m happy to give this a try but w/o the sauce. I’ll let my teens add whatever sauce they want, on theirs only! Thxs for this! Happy New Year!
You’re SO welcome! Happy New Year! 🎉 Enjoy!
Love these! Thanks for all you guys do and HaPpY NeW YeAr’S!
You’re welcome, Gina G! ❤️❤️ HUGE thanks to you for the sweet comment and for being a part of our HIP community! 💞🤗 Happy New Year!
THANKS LINA! Fabulous recipe! Mom and I enjoyed the copycat Big Macs tonight, we used a little less garlic powder and after draining I used a little water and parsley flakes with adding the onions, garlic and onion powders–I gotta get a little beef broth for next time. I topped with sliced tomatoes, and gosh even adding diced tomatoes to the ground beef might be nice for me next time—and that sauce?! OH SO GOOD! THANKS! So glad that you shared this recipe–Thanks!
Oh I am so happy this worked out! YUMMM! Thanks for sharing Justina.
