Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Hip2Save

Looking for an easy and delicious Super Bowl party meal? This tasty slow cooker shredded buffalo chicken is a simple set-it-and-forget-about-it meal that’ll have your crowd cheering for more! 😉 I served up mine with soft mini rolls and bleu cheese coleslaw for additional flavor and crunch.

Slow Cooker Shredded Buffalo Chicken

*Makes around 20 sliders or 7 full size sandwiches

4 -5 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves (mine were frozen)
1 (12 ounce) bottle buffalo wing sauce, divided
1/2 (1 ounce) package dry ranch salad dressing mix (or try this recipe to make your own mix if desired)
2 tablespoons butter
2 packs of soft rolls like Kings Hawaiian brand rolls

(Optional: Try serving with coleslaw mix and bleu cheese dressing, fresh bleu cheese, or ranch dressing.)

Buffalo Chicken Sliders Hip2Save


Place the chicken breasts into a slow cooker, and pour in 3/4 of the wing sauce and the ranch dressing mix. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours.

Once the chicken has cooked, drain liquid if any, add the butter, the rest of the buffalo sauce, and shred the meat finely with two forks.

Serve with rolls and coleslaw with blue cheese or ranch dressing if desired.

Not eating carbs? Try serving lettuce wrap style with large pieces of iceberg lettuce. Either way you decide to serve this chicken, it makes for great football watching food!! Enjoy 🙂

    I was wondering if maybe there was a way Collin could put all of Lina recipes in a category on the new Hip2save app( or is it there and I just can’t find it yet, lol)? I made the yummy eclair dessert last night and wished I could have has a little quicker way to go right to Lina’s recipes from the app. I know I sound whiny as Collin does so much already.       Keep an eye out at your grocery stores, especially if you have a Kroger. Last January, I saw the round stainless steel one that I bought at Target before Christmas at Kroger marked down to $19. I paid only $15 at Target, but it is well worth a bit more despite the lack of bells and whistles. I am using it right now to make a knock-off Chipotle rice bowl dinner.

        I agree with the above statement. I bought a very basic crockpot for $15. The crock pot brand. I absolutely love it. Aside my cast iron Dutch oven it is my most used kitchen appliance.

      I got my programmable slow cooker for about $15 as well at Macy’s I think when they have their hot buys or whatever they call their sales they can be really cheap too! lol

    Too funny. I just made similar on Sunday. I used Honey BBQ sauce and no ranch. It fed my family of 3 for 4 meals! It goes well to eat the BBQ chicken on ciabatta rolls.

    how would i cook this if i dont have a crockpot??

      I would just put it in the oven at a low temp (325?) and slow cook in there in a covered pan or oven safe pot. It would probably take only a couple hours and you’d need to keep an eye on it. You’ll know it’s done when it shreds easily 🙂 Thanks!

    I just made this tonight and it was a hit for dinner. I grew across the border from Buffalo, so I wholeheartedly agree about Franks being the only one to use. I live in AZ so it’s nice to have a hot meal without turning on the oven or bbq-ing.
