Did you know Oreos are vegan? What’s the cream made of?

    • Lo

      Hydrogenated oil
      Is my guess.

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

I had no idea Oreos were vegan! I believe the filling’s main ingredients are sugar and high fructose corn syrup, but the label doesn’t separate the cookie ingredients from the filling ingredients so it’s a bit of a guess!

    • SP

I didn’t know that although lots of people don’t eat them as they have palm oil in it, palm oil can destroy the habitats of many different animal species.

      • Joana

    • Lisa

I was wondering about trying the vanilla oreos. My poor husband is allergic to chocolate.

      • Lori

        Oh no…allergic to chocolate!!

      • Taylor (Sidekick)

Bummer, I’m sure it’s just as delicious with the vanilla Oreos!

  8. Lori

The glutino gluten free sandwich cookies are really good! I wonder if they will work!

    • browniesmomma

I was thinking that also! I really love the glutino ‘oreos’. When I went GF a few yrs ago that was 1 thing I missed. But these are even better than oreo brand name. I’m gonna try it!

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

I’m curious too, I might try that soon and see if the texture is similar!

      • Jenny

Nabisco now makes GLUTEN FREE Oreo’s!! I’m going to try this for sure!

  9. Carla

What is a TikTok??!! I keep hearing about a this kind of video. What makes a video a tiktok video vs a regular video?!!

    • Natasha-ai

“TikTok is the leading destination for short-form mobile video.” Taken from website.

    • Sophia Newman

Tik Tok is an app where you can watch, create content, follow others, and become faumous. Its an awesome app. But beweare children its not always aprropriate :(.
p.s i don have the app my mom does and im 11 so…

      • Kira

You mean the worst app in the world?

    • Maleeha

Hi, Tiktok is a very popular social media app among people (especially young teens) in which they can create videos and post them on there. If someone says they got something from Tiktok or saw a Tiktok video they just mean they saw a video on the app that showed them something.

  10. rochellemcgee

I made this tonight…I found it to be pretty gluey, like oatmeal can be. It wasn’t terrible, just okay. I will try another time with the baking powder to see if that doesn’t help with the texture.

    • Taylor (Sidekick)

The baking powder may help fluff it up a bit and make it less gooey. You could also try leaving it in the microwave a little longer so it stiffens up a bit more.

  11. JElliott

I made this tonight. The texture was a little weird, but the flavor was good. I forgot the baking powder tho, I’ll try that next time!

  12. Sara

Can i make this in the oven aswell? because i don’t have a microwave. I really want to try it, it seems delicious!

  13. hannah

I made this as I had cramps. I love it!!! They’re suddenly gone

    • Grimes Musk

      LOL same!!

  14. Veronica

I have 2 questions. Can you use golden oreos? And can you use almond or coconut milk instead?

    • Amanda Torres

I think you have to test it yourself but it would probably work!

    • Lael Lett

Did you ever find that out because I am vegan and I want to try this?

  15. Oreo

Hey could I make it without baking soda

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yes! All you need for this is 4 Oreo cookies and 3 tablespoons milk!

    • emily

no you cannot baking soda isnt edible that way…

  16. lillie

wow! just tried this they turned out great!!!!!! thanx for sharing this idea 🙂

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yay! SO glad to hear how yummy it turned out! You’re welcome, Lillie!

  17. d e s i r e

  18. Mia

    • Nicole

      Yes

  19. Butter

Can you make it in an oven?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Butter! I bet that would work too. You would need to be sure to use an oven safe dish and adjust the time and temperature. Hope this helps!

  20. taylor

Best thing ever love it do it

  21. I'mvegan13

    can you use almond milk?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yes! That should work too! Enjoy!

  22. deedee

I haven’t tried this but I make the 2 ingredient brownie recipe with a ghirardelli brownie mix and black beans.. it turns into delicious, fudge-like brownies! Seriously so good!

    • Mekhi

I reccomend putting this in icecream it’s the best thing in the world

  23. Mekhi

I reccomend putting this in icecream it’s the best thing in the world

  24. Alysalou

    Eeewww

  25. MT

Do you think that using different colored cream matters in how the cake tastes?

  26. Suzy

Yuck-I made this with the suggested baking powder. It tasted okay since it’s basically Oreo’s, but the consistency was a turn off – sort of like gummy bears or chewing gum mixed with brownies.

  27. Evelyn

Try this recipe without the baking powder. It will be much better I’m guessing. I used baking powder and the cake was very hard and stuck together. But the second time without the baking powder, the cake was soft. The flavor was good overall, just the baking power ruined it the first time.

  28. Diann

This was so good. Want to try with other type of cookies

  29. Lora

for a fun icing scrape the cream off the oreos and just crush the cookie, when the cakes fresh from the microwave just dump it on! it naturally melts but if you microwave it for a few more seconds it’s a nice creamy shell like frosting

  30. John

    ooooooh ….

  31. Dori

I loved this! It was so good!

  32. autumn

    It was so moist! Delicious!

  33. kiki

You can also add a slice of cream cheese to make it cheese cake ! So delicious.

  34. Laila Pritts

IT BLEW UP IN MY MICROWAVE!!!!!

    • This sucks.

      SAME!!!!

  35. India Hunter

Can you do it with water

    • Oreolover

Just think, would you dip Oreos in water then eat them?

  36. Bakerbaker

I can’t believe such a simple recipe has so many questions in the comments 😂

  37. This sucks.

0 STARS!!! THIS RECIPE WAS GROSS! I am only 10!!! So when I went to make it, just like it said: 4 Oreo cookies, 1/4 tablespoon of baking powder, 3/4 tablespoon of milk, and cooked for 90 seconds. It looked really good before it microwaved. Next thing you know the microwave is smoking and the mug is split in HALF. THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU EXPECT IT TO BE.
I EVEN TASTED IT AND IT WAS BURNT. ALMOST AS IF YOU CAN TASTE SMOKE.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh no! SO sorry to hear about that. My kids do make this one often and haven’t had that experience. Thanks for sharing with us!

      • jessebeers

I think I overreacted, but my mug did split in half and the microwave was smoking.

        Stop being so kind. 😂

    • Bob

I know it didn’t taste good at all. I had it with ice cream but didn’t addd in the baking powder

    • Sidney

1/4 teaspoon of baking powder 1/4 tablespoon of milk and add flower cacao powder and when you put 4 oreos in the mug put milk then crush then add baking powder cacao and flower after sink one more oreo then microwave for 1 minute or 2 minutes.

  38. Bob

    Dat cool. Ummm. Preservatives?

  39. Shaikha

How many calories does it contain?

  40. Lyric Soule

Delicious!!! This is my tenth time making this recipe. Simple to follow recipe. Added toasted marshmallows and whipped topping as my topping. Had this mug cake with a small DQ Oreo blizzard on the side. Late night craving satisfied. I definitely recommend giving this a try.
