Hi there! I’m Sara, one of Collin’s Hip sidekicks. 👋🏼
If you’ve been a follower for a while, you may already be familiar with many of the toxic-free products I recommend. I’ve spent years learning how to source clean, natural products and have also spent years using many of the products I’m going to share with you all.
Even better, I have a whole other year of knowledge, so our 2025 Clean Series is going to be packed with even more valuable information, new products, and a strong mission to help YOU!
Swapping your entire home can feel daunting. And there’s also an overwhelming amount of “natural” products on the market. I get it!
Becoming more eco-friendly and toxic-free is a process, so I’ll be doing our clean products series in weekly increments where we tackle just ONE topic and keep the products streamlined and minimal. I’m also going to share why these swaps are important when compared to traditional brands.
This series is going to be a game-changer for everyone so I’m going to make it as streamlined and approachable as possible.
Whether you’re on the hunt for eco-friendly swaps or switching to clean, natural products for your home and self-care routine, or ready to ditch all the toxins completely – I’ve got you covered. And guess what? Many of these eco-friendly swaps will save you thousands every year! 🌱💰😊
I’m going to be like your very own clean product checker. ✅
I’ve dedicated an incredible amount of time to sourcing, vetting, and testing the very best and cleanest products in every category. In fact, I personally use ALL of the items I’m going to share with you so you can guarantee I’m sharing the best of the best! 🙌🏼
✅ The finest quality ingredients

I’m excited to share my knowledge with you because I know these products will transform your life when used consistently. They will enhance your daily routines and many of them will save you money in the long run too. More than anything, you’ll feel good about using them.
I’ll be talking about them on Instagram, too, so be sure to follow us over there!
It’s time to ditch the toxins that are harming you! Don’t forget to bookmark this post so you can keep track of our entire Clean Series!
Iβve switched to all natural cleaning products, hair and body care, last I have is the laundry detergent. Darn Costco and their gigantic containers. Now I can hardly stand the cleaning isle at the grocery the scents are so strong. Tip: use up products on hand first and replace as you go so itβs not so overwhelming.
What a great tip to slowly replace your items! Thanks for sharing! ππ
Yes, I work for a clean beauty company and suggest the same. Switch over as you run out. π
I look forward to learning from you!
Thanks for stopping by, Mindy! I’m looking forward to sharing everything I know with you!
Iβm excited about this!
I’m thrilled to hear that, rosehart! Stay tuned for more. π
Great idea! We replaced most of our products with vinegar, alcohol and water! We even make our own wipes.
Thanks for sharing, acgold! I’m thrilled to hear this!
This is one Iβm looking forward to.
I’m so glad to hear this will bring you value, Vicki! Thanks for following along.
Fun!!
I’ve been using natural products for a long time. I was so tired of being poisoned. I even use natural products for my dogs. Including dog food, no kibble here. I am excited to see what Sara has to say.
That’s wonderful to hear you’ve already made swaps in your home, Carol! Thanks for following along and I hope my new series will bring you so much value.
Yay!!π₯° I have followed Hip2save since 2010 and these will be the most rewarding posts yet! Thank you for using this platform to help readers make better choices that will help their family’s overall health! I’ve been making swaps the past couple years due to my own health concerns and a long list of symptoms. Two companies I came across recently have been life changing….Rowe Casa Organics & Earthley Wellness. They both make nontoxic products and provide so much education on their social media accounts. Thank you for putting this series together for us. Can’t wait to learn more from you! π©·
Thank you for sharing some companies you love, Kristi! I hope my new series will bring even more value to you! Thanks for following along.
Yes! Sign me up
Just remember all natural doesn’t mean natural just like natural flavors or “FRAGRANCE”. You have to learn how to read ingredients.
YES! This is definitely something I will be discussing in future series, Rachel. Thank you for pointing that out. I hope you enjoy what’s to come!
So glad you are going to feature. As someone who is fighting cancer with no family history, safer is the way we are becoming more and more. So many toxic chemicals in the cleaning and beauty industry.
I’m very sorry to hear what you’re going through, mimi-coolchick. I hope this series brings you value and more than anything I am sending all the good healing vibes your way. β€οΈ Thank you for following along.
Thank you for doing this. I look forward to reading these posts and trying the natural methods. Most mainstream cleaning products from the stores smell bad to me even if they say lemon or orange scented.
You’re very welcome, Lora! I’m very much looking forward to all I have to share. Thanks for following along!
Iβm from Oregon, we take green pretty serious. Iβm not extreme, just practical where I can. The Molly suds pic here shows plastic bag, so no good. Reducing use of plastics is #1. Iβve switched to laundry detg sheets and dish detg pods from dropps, both come in paper boxes. 2nd- Im using shampoo bars ( Trader Joeβs) or dr. Bronner bars for hair and body. No plastic bottle of shampoo or shower gel. Non toxic cleaner? Mix vinegar, tea tree oil, water in reusable spray bottle.βοΈ
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us, Siena95! We sure appreciate your valued feedback.
The motto is reduce, reuse, recycle
Canβt wait for this! Thanks, Sara! Btw, what is that second photo? The one with the plants? It looks interesting.
You’re so welcome, Erica! Thank YOU for following along! The second photo features my Lettuce Grow Farmstand. I LOVE it so much and have a full product review on it if you’d like to read more about it. π
Can you put a post on clean beauty products? The cosmetic industry is pretty unregulated and so many dangerous chemicals that has been banned in food products are hidden in beauty products which gets into our skin! It would be such a help as swapping to clean beauty products that are effective is a challenge.
Hi there Cindy! It looks like there will be a series on makeup, personal care items, and more! π€β€οΈ Thanks for letting us know what type of “clean” content you’re excited to see!
This is great. I am in need of hypoallergenic products for medical reasons. First on my list is a safer “bleach.” Need all the help I can get. Looking fwd to your posts!!
Ohhh I have the perfect product for you, Ihearthip! In fact, my bleach alternative is more affordable and more effective. I’m not going to make you wait to learn about it though as I have shared it once before. It’s called Force of Nature and if you’d like to read about it now you can head over to my Eco-friendly swaps post. Enjoy!
Thanks a ton!
I’m so excited for this. I’ve made many swaps, but not all. Sometimes it’s frustrating because the healthier, natural products are often more expensive, so I’m excited to learn what you’ll be sharing!
Yes, I’m with you, Heather! It’s so sad that’s the case with some things. I’m going to do my best to share the best prices and some savings aspects too!
Iβm very excited about this series. Iβve been cutting back on chemicals and swapping out products for years. But Iβm looking forward to learning about more I can do.
Thanks so much for following along! Stay tuned π€©
I love the Norwex products for just this reasonβ¦interested to see what youβve got up your sleeve!
Thanks for sharing, Amandan! Stay tuned. π€©
I am looking forward to seeing what qualifies as βnontoxic.β Natural doesnβt necessarily mean nontoxic. Some things in nature can be plenty toxic. Evening the pic of the menstrual cup – there actually isnβt really any long term data on prolonged use. They inevitably put pressure on the urethral opening and this could pose a potential short or long term problem. I will be really interested to see what meets the βnontoxicβ criteria. Iβve always tended to just follow the rule of simplicity. The simpler, the betterβ¦.like triscuits. Theyβre found in the middle aisle and theyβre packaged shelf stable processed foodβ¦but there are only 3 recognizable ingredients, so, I go for it π€·ββοΈ
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us, Marinova. I am with you – the simpler the better!
Iβm excited for this series! Iβd like to learn to be more green and use healthier cleaners for my family. Thank you for doing this!
You’re so welcome, Lesli! Thank you for following along!
Super excited about this series!! Iβve been making own products, using reusable cleaning products (Norwex, un-paper towels, dryer balls, etc.) and am always happy to learn more. The easiest thing for me that coincidentally took time to learn a new habit was shopping at Aldi and how I now actually use the reusable bags in my trunk. Especially the bags that collapse and you can keep in your handbag so you always have it in hand. Yay!!
Thanks for following along, Brooke! I love that you use reusable bags that is so important!
So exciting! I’m interested in knowing what is out there and really works good!
Thanks for following along, Angie!
I can’t wait – I have already switched to whole foods and no processed foods in the house and the cleaning products as well will be great! What are all these chemicals doing to us?
That’s so wonderful to hear, Shona! I am looking forward to sharing the series with you, thank you for following along!
I am so excited about this. I heard the granddaughter of Dr Bonner speak about cleaning up your cleaning products. It was a great chat
That’s such a great experience, Jen! I love Dr. Bronners and use it every day. π Thanks for following along!
Looking forward to this series. It’s nice to have a trusted site as a go-to for information on topics that are so important.
We are so honored that you come here for the best deals and info, Sharbme! It truly means the world! β€οΈ
Been working on being clean. I use products from a sister owned company called Rowe Casa. OMG I love their products, especially the magnesium cream and Lymphatic creams. Looking forward to all your great products too.
Thank you so much for sharing, Debi! That’s wonderful you already have some clean products you love!
What a great idea! Something I definitely need to learn. Thanks!
You’re very welcome, Pam! We’re looking forward to sharing more with you. Thanks for following along!
So anxious to learn more… have been replacing a few things… bit by bit π
That is the best way to do it in my opinion, Vicki, so good for you! It can become SO overwhelming trying to do it all at once. Thanks for following along!
Canβt wait to see more!
Thanks for following along, Nancy!
I am so excited about this. We have started a cleaner eating for our family of 7. We are are slowly switching things out week by week. Thank you Sara for doing this. Also thanks to Collin for always thinking of a way to bless people while helping so many other! Hip2Save is my favorite!!!!!
You’re so very welcome, Danielle! Thank you for following along and being such a valued reader!
Would love to been having alot of skin reactions. Wondering if it is from chemical reactions in cleaners and other items.
Iβve been collecting my plastic bottles and got my new house have been pinning my all natural ways from bug repellent for my kiddos to natural cleaners for our new house! Pretty excited and will not worry when the kids love to help clean β¦. Yes my kids love to clean
That’s fantastic you have kiddos who love to clean, mom_2angels. I remember growing up my mom didn’t want me cleaning the bathroom with certain chemical cleaners together and with the door shut. π³ Scary stuff!
I bought some Method bathroom cleaner, thought Method was a “natural” brand. Not! The fragrance is so overpowering I threw it out.
Ahh bummer! Yes, unfortunately many “natural” companies are guilty of greenwashing and fragrance is typically the very first thing I look for. Fragrances can be compromised of 3,000+ harmful chemicals and they don’t have to disclose what they are when they’re under a certain percentage. Scary stuff! Good for you for doing what was best for you, Pat!
I am here for this series. I use an app called EWG, which stands for “environmental working group” You can scan most products at the grocery store and it breaks down how safe each product is. It is awesome. Some products I thought were safe are truly not at all. It is truly eye-opening. Oh and for me I have realized the more I use safe and clean products, clothes, food, and scents for my home the fewer migraines I have
EWG is a great resource, Momof51987, and that’s wonderful it has helped you so much! Thanks for following along!
Just be aware that EWG and others like Yuka and the like also pay for brands so the best TRUEST way to find safe products is to read labels and understand what the ingredients truly are.
So excited!!! We try to be clean here in our home. Can’t wait to see what you have in store!
Thanks so much for following along, Amber!
Super excited for you to share all of your info!!! Thanks so much!
You’re very welcome! Thank you so much for following along!
One change at a time.. Paper straws instead of plastic straws π
That’s a wonderful approach, Karen! I, myself, continue to make changes one step at a time. Thanks for following along. π
Sounds awesome! I’m looking forward to it!
I’m thrilled to hear it, Joanne! Thanks for following along. π
i want know detail for the product
More to come soon, Mary! Thanks for following along!
Thanks so much!!I am super excited to learn more about this!
You’re very welcome, Kathy! Thanks for following along!
Looking forward to larning more!
I had to abruptly change to cleaner more natural products in every area of my life because I had epiglottis cancer and once they removed it and my (lung pipe and my stomach pipe)(not the medical terms lol) pipes were sucking anything in the air into my lungs. So after that surgery I found out I had vocal cord paralysis and my throat closed in the shower steam. So dr said no steam, chemicals, etc. So Iβm trying to find good natural products. Please helpβ¦.
THIS IS WONDERFUL!
I am very interested. Thank you!
Hi! I am trying to switch over slowly. I was curious if you had had any trouble with laundry powder clogging your machine? I tend to wash most everything in cold water and the powders Iβve tried I feel like I end up digging out of the washer holes. I liked the Blueland tablets but those were bad cloggers. Also I wash wondering if you had an idea for a healthier alternative to the solution they sell for the pet spot bots like the Bissell and Shark. Thanks for doing this series again! π
Hey Megan!
Mama Suds Laundry Powder is my favorite laundry detergent to use and I have never experienced any issues with clogging. A few important things to do to help avoid this would be to make sure you’re not overloading your machine, spread the powder evenly and directly into the laundry (not where the liquid soap goes), and check the filter on your machine (we do ours about every 3-4 months or so).
As for the pet spot bots, I don’t have one of those machines. In the past, I’ve had success getting stains out of furniture, carpet, etc. using cold water, sparkling water, and baking soda. I hope this feedback helps!
I look forward to seeing your posts this year too. I have been slowly changing over to clean ingredients for all cleaning and health & beauty. This is so necessary in todayβs world.
Yay! We’re excited to have you join us on this series, Vicki! π€ Stay tuned! π
Will you have a separate tab on the hip2save website? If not, where can we find all your posts regarding this topic?
Great question Jennifer! π€ All the content for this series will be linked in this post once itβs updated, so you’re able to click through to each product category for the clean recommendations. Be sure to bookmark this page to check back as it’s updated. π
Bookmarked, thank you!
Yay! You’re welcome! π€
Jennifer, if you’re on Instagram we also just created a “Clean Series” highlight tab where we will house all future videos for each post that goes live. From there, you’ll be able to click on the posts. π Thank you for following along!
This is fantastic, thank you for letting me know! I found the highlight tab, thank you for creating that! My sister and I were just talking two days ago about how we miss your takeover Tuesdays with all your clean items. So glad this series is coming back. I’ve made a lot of product changes because of your suggestions!
Thank you so much for your kind words, Jennifer! It means a lot to hear that you’ve found the highlight tab helpful and that my suggestions have made a difference in your life. I truly appreciate your & your sister’s support and I’m looking forward to sharing more clean finds with you both!
My friend, Monica Richards aka Eco Babe on Instagram is a good resource to talk to Sara. She interviews a lot of American made sustainable/eco friendly brands and has the same mission as you. She even shares eco friendly fashion. I think you would get along with her
Thank you for sharing her info, Kryssi! I will have to check out her page. π€
